Sandwiches are a generous size and always tasty. Look for their specials such as the tri-tip and buffalo sandwich. Authentic Italian deli in excelsior :)

Awesome olde skool real Italian deli that still remains in sF. I’ve not yet had a hoagie or sammie there. I just go for their authentic Spanish chorizo which I use at home for cooking up a few classic dishes from Spain. Good times in the city yo!

Once in a blue moon, I’ll get a random sandwich craving. When hangry strikes, I hop onto my Unilocal app — where would we be without it? I found the highly rated Calabria Bros that was close by. Heh? I’ve driven by so many times and never even knew a sandwich place was there. Parking is a b*tch so have someone drop you off. It took 10 circles before I finally found parking a block away. As I was walking towards Calabria Bros, I noticed a bunch of cars double parked outside and a small line of burly men that went out the door. Must be legit. Perusing the menu, their sandwiches start at $ 6.50 with specialty sandwiches priced at $ 7.75 — $ 14. They also sell specialty items imported from Italy(canned goods, cookies, snacks), fresh pastas, pizza dough, and drinks. Cc’s accepted. After some debate, I narrowed down my choices to: Jake OR Mark It was like making a decision of which guy to date, in this case: devour. As if I had that luxury but hey, a girl can dream a little right? The imported mortadella piqued my interest so Mark it was. Mark was a $ 14 sandwich but let me tell you, it was hung… like a horse. The sandwich weighed nearly 2 lbs, girthy, and longer than my forearm. Mark was jam packed with imported mortadella, prosciutto, hot coppa, pepper salame, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and pepperoncinis. I also added roasted tomatoes(+.75 cents) for some sweetness and opted for the mild garlic spread: . There was so much meat that I could make another sandwich or two. I usually like toasted bread but the sourdough roll was really fresh and had a great chew. All the meats were high quality and the garlic spread added a nice garlicky herbaceousness. The old skool Italian sandwiches at Calabria Bros are definitely better than the overrated Molinari in North Beach: . I don’t eat deli sandwiches much so I forgot how much sodium are in the meats. I could barely make it through one half of the sandwich before realizing I probably ate a week’s worth of sodium in one sitting so I will opt for a sandwich sans prosciutto next time. Mmmm, I think the headcheese is calling my name. Can’t go wrong when«head» is in the name. Excuse my potty mouth, it’s Friday after all!

Ok, yeah… best frikken Italian deli sangwich ever. Got the Hot Calabrese… Meats, hot pepper spread, deliciousness… The bread was crusty and perfectly soft, slightly chewey… Easy to eat, not super sloppy(I was holding it like a Fabrege’ Egg– ever so gently as to not disrupt the beauty of it’s composition)… had lettuce and mayo and I think tomatoes on it. ITISTHEPERFECTCOMBO. I’m craving it now. Anyway. I ate the whole dang thing. I couldn’t help it. It was easily enough for 2 people, but I just couldn’t stop. I didn’t want it to end. It was like the best song ever. your favorite movie. or a long kiss by the person you love… I also bought some anise candy and a box of cookies. I’m ready for more. It’s been a month since I’ve been there. and I need to go back after the Super Bowl when traffic has eased up a bit… I need to try the ricotta, the chocolates, the prosciutto, the EVERYTHING. Awesome Italian imports, awesome sangwiches… awesome service. Get a sandwich and an Italian soda to go. or eat in back. they have a few seats(maybe 5 – 6), but I can see this place easily filling up during the lunch hour. Looked like a lot of regulars coming in and out…

Best sandwich I ever had. I called ahead(there wasn’t a reason to, no line.) I had the hot calabrese. I’m sure anything there is good. They had lots of Italian food and meats. The real f**kin deal!

It’s been too long since I’ve had a proper Italian coppa sandwich… probably since Dad brought home a hot coppa, sliced it thin, and I topped it on Mom’s own homemade ciabatta bread. Probably 35 years ago. Thank you, Michael Tufo & Co. for an authentic treat that brought back great memories. Comfortable, clean, and a great place to pick up a couple of Calabrian treats — biscotti, lupini, gnocchi. The sandwich was fresh, tasty, and ample enough to feed a family of four! A good steady flow of «regulars» proves Calabria Bros. has a decent following. No wonder. My Hot Calabria sandwich on ciabatta bread was flavorful and generous in size. The meat was sliced just perfectly that it held together without having to «rip» it as I was eating. Held the garlic hot spread, but added roasted tomatoes, which were a delicious substitute. The bread was perfect… Fresh and soft, and just the right crustiness. Add a light squirt of EVOO and vinegar… mmmmm. Small dining area for eat-in with a friendly and warm atmosphere. Hard to choose what sweet treat to take along with us… Opted for a bag of traditional anise candy and a box of Italian cookies… They may not last the ride home… Calabria Bros is WELL worth the 35-minute drive from the East Bay. A lovely way to spend an afternoon during Christmas break!

Besides sandwiches, Calabria has a really well-stocked Italian grocery section. They have amazing Italian-style cookies from Leonard Bakery in South City that melt in your mouth, Scottish lox, and all manner of pasta and tomato products. Great for picking up a quick dinner!

So I haven’t been to this place since it was originally Sorentos– years ago. I wanted to try it out and wow! A real deli, it’s hard to come by these days. My sandwich was amazing and their prices are great! The owners are super friendly and the lady at the register was such a sweetheart. I will definitely be going back for more.

I first came to these guys when they opened up their location after moving from Potrero. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the deli before them so I was skeptical when I first walked in there. First thing to say right off the bat: these sandwiches are enormous. Often times I’ll drop 10 bucks on a sandwich at other delis and feel cheated because of how small they are. That is not the case here. There bread is amazing, they get it from Boudin so it’s fresh and high quality. You get anything with sourdough and you will not be disappointed. The meat they use is very high quality; I didn’t even know what porchetta was until I came here and now I can’t get enough of it. On top of all this, Mike and his staff are the friendliest people on the planet. That might sound like an exaggeration but it really isn’t. First time I went in there I was treated like family. They remember you and ask you about your life and it isn’t forced or awkward, they’re just really nice people. I would go on for another 9 paragraphs but then this would be an embarrassing love letter to the store so I’ll end here. For an authentic Italian sandwich you’re going to want to come here. If you do go there, get«The Uncle Dave». So good. God damn, now I want one.

I needed to grab some lunch in the neighborhood and Unilocal steered me towards this Italian deli. My salami and provolone sandwich was awesome! The sourdough roll had the perfect amount of crunch and chew, with a generous amount of meat, cheese and perfect amount of toppings. Prices are reasonable too — $ 10.50 for my sandwich, bag of chips and a soda

The sandwiches here at solid haven’t tried them all but Sal is the man. A great sandwich artisan with good quality meats & knowledge of how to make a decadent Bay Area Italian sandwich. Gotta go back soon.

Split a Mikey & Jessica among me and my two sisters for a quick snack. Great way to start the afternoon. Wanted to love this sandwich but the sourdough was just too hard and I struggled to chew it. The roast beef and roasted tomatoes were on point in the taste department so I’d definitely come back. The garlic pesto is amaaazzzing, so I’ll come back again just for that. Will get a different bread next time!

Delightful! Sandwich artist in the building! I’ve been here a few times back in the day, but the first time they change owners it was terrible. This time, I’m in heaven. Just get the special and watch the master work. They couldn’t be more lovely and attentive. The meat is excellent and moist. The bread fresh. The sandwich is huge and I have 2 meals. I can’t wait to come back, but make me some nice old skool buttermilk coleslaw, please!

Calabria Brothers used to be the famed Sorrento’s. I know a lot of people were sad to see Sorrento’s go, & still mourn the loss. But Calabria Brothers is doing a good job of filling the void that they left. First off, this deli is super clean. On this particular visit we just wanted a sandwich for lunch. The special of the day was tri-tip, & it looked too good to pass up. The tri-tip was tender & tasty, w a generous portion of meat. A monster of a sandwich, it was perfect for us to share w a couple of bags of chips. The space is well organized, & they carry all the classics. Special love for having EVERY flavor of SanPellegrino; even pomegranate, which is harder to find. And fresh pizza dough for only 2 bucks! That’s a full buck cheaper than Lucca on Valencia. Friendly & helpful service. The cleanest digs. Good selection. 4 stars.

Hands down the best Italian deli in the city! Very Authentic and it is exactly what I am looking for. Ordered the Calabrese salame w/swiss, and everything on it on sourdough. Bread was on point, you can taste it’s fresh, the salame was bomb and as far as the ingredients straight legit. Everything was the real deal. The guys were friendly and chill. Stop by you won’t regret it. Every bite was orgasmic!

Great deli that does all the right things right. Fresh soft rolls, crisp vegetables and the meat and cheese are sliced fresh to order. I had«The Mikey and Jessica» and it was excellent. The garlic pesto and sweet pickles added a surprisingly nice compliment to the overall flavor. For the price, the size was generous and could easily be shared by two. Staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid deli sandwich.
