I have always passed this place on my walks from union square. But never stopped in. My friend and I were craving lamb chicken and beef. So we gave them a try… OMG. We split the pharaoh’s plate and the Khufu burger(lamb and beef). The burger was juicy and the spices were spot on. Left me wishing I ordered two. The chicken and beef were just as juicy and flavorful and plenty of more MEAT… It came with their humus and it is AMAZINGLYFRESH… With bursting stomachs we still wanted more…

Down home family run business. The falafel wrap was delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful. I don’t normally eat late at night in the tenderloin, but when I do, I’m glad to find a tasty morsel like this on Unilocal

The service was great, but the food was terrible. I got the shawarma, and it had a funny taste to it. The vegetables that came with it tasted and had a texture of plastic fake food. Then again, plastic food might have tasted better.

It closes in 30 minutes and they asked us to eat in our car? Pretty strange we requested some chairs and it was not acceptable. Maybe you should change your hours! Pretty bad service. Thanks but no thanks! Bye and never see you again.

Pretty solid place for late night dinna! I ordered the Pharoah wrap, and it was BOMB! Falafel was perfect. The garlic eggplant taste was a little overwhelming, but I didn’t mind, because I love garlic. I ate half the wrap and finished it off the next day – so it’s definitely filling and worth your money. I did order on a Sunday night, and it took about an hour and 15 minutes for them to deliver to my room(2 blocks away), with 4 other wraps in the order.

Ordered lunch from Pharoah’s a couple times now. If you wanna try something a little different go for the Kufu burger. It has ground lamb and beef and is seasoned with Mediterranean spices — really good burger. Fries have a light seasoning and are really tasty. Had a shawarma with grilled lamb and beef also tried the chicken. Both were really good in taste and portion. Solid food option in the Union Square area.

I always come here for a gyro sandwich. It’s a perfect lunch with the good meat, the sauce and the right amount of toasting :) Tried bakhlava the other day, wasn’t impressive/fresh. Stick by the gyro or the sandwiches and you will be a happy camper!

Pretty good mediterranean food. The place has a laid back feel and is next to a pizza restaurant. Once you order the food it comes out pretty fast. There’s plenty of seats and tables if you want to dine in. The guy at the register and the service were pretty good. Fast and efficient. I ordered the shwarma wrap– lamb. It was very spicy, a little more than I’m used to. The backleva was excellent and very sweet. It was a nice combo, but for a late night meal, heavy. Recommend you have this type of food before 6 to avoid the stomach issues. Would recommend to friends.

So my friend and I didn’t actually come here for the Mediterranean portions on the menu. We came to this joint strictly for the Egyptian food. We had the hawawshy and the bashamel pasta. I have to say, both of these dishes were REALLY greasy and if I had to choose, I would definitely choose the hawashy to eat again, I wasn’t too fond of the pasta. It was very bland and didn’t have any punch to it. Whereas the hawashy had a bit of a kick to it. If I ever came back here I’m not sure I would try the Egyptian food again and I would probably try the other things on the menu.

Customer service was good. The food came out completely burnt. Neither the grilled vegetables or the meat could be eaten. I got the combo so it was a lot of food down the garbage. I also asked if the chicken was breast meat and the cashier said it was. It turned out to be thigh meat.

$ 7 minimum for credit cards, but its okay because the cheapest order is about $ 6.99, just add avocado and you are all set. The sandwiches are amazing! Super yummy!

Came here for munchies after visiting Rye, the bar next door. They were open until 3am on Friday night. Smart move! I ordered the chicken plate. It came with hummus, rice, and a little side salad of cucumbers. The restaurant has a lot of space, but they close their bathroom after 12am which is a little odd. The chicken was cooked well and I liked the bismati rice. But I felt that the chicken was just too salty. It was overwhelming my tastebuds. I guess that’s where the hummus comes into play. I liked the hummus and it was nice and fresh. I wasn’t that impressed with the food though, it was average. Props for staying open late on the weekend though! And convenient if you’re checking out the bars in the area.

Falafel plate with a side of french fries — so good! Ordered delivery on a Saturday night around 9:45PM. The delivery man dropped off the order to my room(as requested) around 10:40PM. French fries were still so good. Probably in the top 5 best fries I’ve had before because the seasoning was light, had a mild kick and french fries were just the right crunchy fried without being too greasy! Falafel plate — 5 or 6 huge falafels. Very flavorful and moist inside and the right crunch on the crust. Usually after 2 falafels I get tired of the taste/texture, after 4 I hit my peak and was full! Wanted to keep eating but the stomach said no. Hummus was nice, creamy and the tahini was strong but not overpowering. Really enjoyed the richness of the hummus. Cucumber salad — A-Ok. Pita was light toasted. Really enjoyed this restaurant!

Great value, polite and quick service, clean premises. I would eat here again. Forgot to take advantage of Unilocal’s 10% off, but still feel like I got my money’s worth. Edit: way better than I first thought. Falafel is perfect. Every other time I’ve had falafel it’s overdone and far too crispy. Perfectly done here, though.

Low key dress down ‘café’ style resto with good food. The place looks like a food truck with a dining area to sit. Nonetheless the food is very good! Would definitely recommend especially for the price you pay. The lamb and beef wrap is excellent. Their chicken shwerma is very good too. Open late for those late night munchers!

Been to this place when was in city. The best thing is not only that their food is Kosher Halal but also that they are open till late night. Loved their Gyro, kabob plate but the best thing was the Kunafa, it was huge and worth every bite…

There was nothing particularly fantastic about my visit to Pharaohs Mediterranean Sandwich, other than that they are open late. We were craving some shwarma, so I got a batch with some hummus, babaganoush, and pita to go. The food was edible, but certainly not worth going out of my way for, nor quite good enough for me to try again unless I’m in the neighborhood and there is not much else open.

I’m a regular customer, I come from Egypt and this is the only place in San Francisco that sells real authentic Egyptian food. The Egyptian falafel and Alexandrian liver wrap are my fav. I also liked their Egyptian Mussaka although I like it more spicy. I would recommend that place for Egyptian food.

We had the burger, kafta kebob plate, lentil soup, and fries. Everything was delicious. I was impressed because they delivered to our hotel room, so I didn’t have to put on pants and, you know, leave. Excellent food and very friendly delivery person.

Quick: Beef Shawarma was decent, my main complaint being that the cucumber chunks are large and dominating in the sandwich. Beef was tender, flavors were good otherwise. Hummus was a bit runny and forgettable and though the Pistachio Burma photo on the Eat24 order app shows two, you get only one. And it’s not that good. Pros: Reasonable delivery charge, decently priced food Cons: Delivery time was 1 hr on a Weds night, kinda slow. Overall, this place will probably meet all your expectations in schwarma and Mediterranean food but I think you could do better. Granted, perhaps my big gripe is the cucumbers. Big cuts of it throw the flavor balance of the whole sandwich off and being that I can accept cucumbers and appreciate them but not love them, may skew the results here. The dressing and pita wrap was good and when I could pull out most of the cucumber, I thought it was enjoyable but still, I’ve had better. The hummus is really a throwaway item. I added it to pad the delivery minimum. Nothing bad, but quite flavorless and not as thick as I’d like. Overall I don’t think you’d be unhappy eating here, but if you have a favorite place otherwise, I might make the extra trek that way.

Didn’t get a chance to try the authentic kofei that everyone else is ordering, but I had a chance to get a standard lamb, beef, and chicken schwaerma wrap. The sauce was creamier and heavier than the usual middle eastern schwaerma or falafel restaurant throughout the city but my taste buds aren’t refined or knowledgeable enough to know the regional differences. Hits the spot if you’re looking to chow after grabbing a few drinks from the cocktail bars just down the block. Friendly guys working the store, there’s not a whole lot to look at since it’s more of a take out spot but maybe you’ll find your drunk inspiration to finally make a trip out to see one of the seven wonders of the world after visiting Pharoahs.

Just like Unilocal says: meh, I’ve experienced better. But it’s not bad. The food was decent. There was nothing wrong with the food, and everything tasted fine. I ordered a shawarma wrap and a falafel wrap. Food is warm and flavorful. I came here for late night food, and was surprised the place was open so late! So yay for the extended hours. Service was a little on the slower side. But since it was late at night, I didn’t have any major complaints.

The food here is just okay Nothing to write home about The flavors are more on the sharp side However the food has a very fresh and warm flavor. I got the falafel platter: I think the salad had too much oil The hummus had too much tahini added to it, and the portion size was way too small The pittas were served toasted and warm: I liked this The falafels were fresh cooked right out of the oven and had this interesting mixture on top to add flair: sesame seeds, and cumin? Very tasty I got a yogurt, I think it had too much cucumber and it was too much on the fluids side. I got an interesting dish that I had never had before: the koshari and … I liked it. It’s like eating pasta and a bowl of soup together without a soupy texture. Also the fried onions add a pop for flavor. Lastly the rice pudding, very fresh ingredients and more on the robust side, however…(I’ve had better) So I probably won’t order from here again, however if I am in the neighborhood I will order the koshari, because this is not a dish you can easily find in any restaurant.

Got the Chicken Shawarma with fries and hummus. Dont get the hummus. Fries were glorious; they’re seasoned and well done compared to the othr mediterranean restaurant s which costco them. My friend noted that the Ahmose Plate(lamb, chicken, and beef mix) was ok. Worst part eating there is, they won’t let u use the washrm after midnight -.- doesnt that violate the Restaurant business uniform plumbing code of san francisco? FYI, total bill came out to be $ 40 something.

I came here for drunchies around 12am(made it right at their closing time) because it was the only place open this late around the area. I got the lamb and beef shwarma wrap and it was pretty good but waaaayyy to saucey in my opinion. The sauce was good but it covered up the flavor of the beef and lamb so I couldn’t really taste anything. I’m also biased because I was super hungry and slightly tipsy so obviously food tasted even better at my state. Which is why I’m going to give this place two stars because I feel like if I came here sober I wouldn’t enjoy it. There are a wide variety of food options available though, so maybe something else would taste better? But the guy told us their beef and lamb shwarma wrap was the most popular thing on the menu so I’m having doubts…

There is certainly no doubt that you cannot beat this place for popular Mediterranean cuisines in the heart of the Tenderloin area. I was amazed this tiny spot that serves great food at all times and offer great service from the workers from here. I was here for dinner and I ordered the lamb and beef combo plate. For $ 12.99, I get grilled slices of beef and lamb(cooked to perfection), a side of salad comprised of diced cucumber and tomatoes, fresh and warm pita bread wedges and a tangy side of Tzatziki sauce for dipping. The sliced meats were cooked to perfection. This is a very vigorous feast and well worth the price. I would definitely come back and try other food from here, including the falafel in which I heard is also really good and popular here. And according to the Department of Health score, this is one of the cleanest.

This is a Mediterranean Café. It also serves Egyptian food. The place looks nice and clean. It has a nice ambiance. However, it is not good enough to make you forget that you are near the corner of Jones and Geary Street(near the Tenderloin neighborhood). I went there a couple of times. I tried the Koshari, Bashamel Pasta, Baba Ghanoush, and Kofta Kabab(wrap). The Koshari(Egyptian national dish) was great. It was very flavorful, filling, and well made. It had two types of pasta, well cooked lentils, garbanzo beans, rice, and fried onions. It was by far the best item on the menu. The Bashamel Pasta(Egyptian lasagna with meat) was good. The Baba Ghanoush was OK. It did not have a really strong smokey flavor, that I usually noticed with this menu item. The Kofta kabab(wrap) was disappointing. The menu said it was«tenderly» charbroiled. In fact, it as incredibly charbroiled. The smokey flavor and odor was intense. It overpowered the flavors of the wrap. My finger smelt smokey after eating it. Service was efficient and fast. This place does stay open very late at night. I would recommend the Egyptian items on the menu.

Pretty good. Hummus was kind of bland, chicken was flavorful, didn’t really care for the rice, veggies were grilled perfectly.

This place is shawarma heaven! Omyjeezy!!! I ordered the combo lamb/beef plate. Enough said. Come with a huge appetite because you’ll neither be disappointed or gone with an empty stomach! I would say that parking is a problem if you’re a driver. After ~4 pm towing trucks have dibs on all the cars in the street parking. So be weary of that. You can pay four bucks for valet garage near by. Worth it if you get the lamb/beef plate with baklava of course! Enjoy this heavenly dwelling!
