The salmon was tender and the soy sauce that comes with it has a nice kick of ginger. The salad dressing could have been better. The rice was a bit too mushy for my taste.

$ 10.86 for brown rice w/white meat chicken combo — not bad. but — salad looked pretty sad/brown — teriyaki sauce very sweet — brown rice tasted like microwave/instant not bad bang for buck, just not the highest quality ingredients. could do better at dragon eats or bibimbar for this price

I ordered the Chicken teriyaki… the vegetables were cold… the soup was like water. I had tuna sushi which I barfed up caused it tasted so bad. The photos looked good, too bad the food didn’t match. I’ve had better food at a fast food restaurant and much cheaper.

Food looks good, but tastes just okay. The chicken in teriyaki is so hard and chewy to eat.

Wow, chicken teriyaki was so dry that I thought I was eating cardboard covered in generic Teriyaki sauce. Broccoli was just plainly steamed with no seasoning, which I guess is ok for the health-minded peeps, and your salad is brown-ish iceberg lettuce. Had tons better for $ 10. On the upside, they’re located at Crocker and servers are nice enough and work efficiently. But if you want Bento, the Japanese spot in the Underground food court is about 10 times better, and they’re only just above average.

Restaurant was clean and spacious. Friendly server. I had the edamame which tasted good but looked not so great. I had the Bento box with chicken teriyaki, spicy salmon roll and spicy tuna roll. All of that was good.

One of my offices is downtown, so I travelled down the food court of this open mall to try this place. Man, was that a bad decision. I should have stuck with my work’s vending machine. As in a cup of ramen would have been better and cheaper than their salmon bento. Care for overcooked salmon with a bland teriyaki sauce? Or how about burned gyoza? Yeah, me neither. And at $ 15.00 I was like, what happened here? Take a look at my plate and tell me this doesn’t look like some kid chef made this. Complete with a cheap plate too. Oh, and beware of the salty miso soup. You’ll need tons of water to wash this salt bath down.

Decent Japanese food to fulfill a craving during lunch. I like the chicken katsu combo with salad and miso soup. Costs about $ 9.50 with tax so pricey but average for the area. You do get a good amount of edamame for $ 3.50 if you get that, eat some now and then have a healthy snack for later

Decent food but the guy taking the orders is the worst thing about this place. Every time I’ve been there he’s been rude and unhelpful. He doesn’t speak up and is kind of a dick. He’s always there and the only one taking orders, so this can’t be confused with anyone else. That guy sucks and makes this restaurant experience much worse than it should be.

i avoided this place like the plague, being Japanese and all, but i saw someone eating a plate here with chicken, rice and broccoli. how bad can it be? turns out, its not bad at all and when i want chicken, rice and broccoli or salmon, rice and broccoli, i come here. the miso soup tastes right too.

This place is really good for the price. It is also fairly quick and convenient if you are in the Financial District. I like the chicken teriyaki meal best. It is all breast meat and they offer brown rice as a $ 1 upgrade. Miso soup comes with it and is really good. The salad is a little boring(iceberg lettuce), but I really like the dressing. This is definitely one of my regular spots when I have to do a quick lunch.

I’ve been coming here frequently and every time I’m never disappointed. Obviously, it’s not gonna be like your fancy, extremely authentic dine-in for dinner Japanese restaurants. But it’s definitely reasonably priced for how much you get and how fast you get it. I love getting sushi here because it’s always fresh and definitely affordable. I like the spicy tuna or tempura shrimp maki because they give a lot in each roll. When I’m not feeling sushi, I get their katsu and tempura. In general, I’m not a big fan of teriyaki, but their homemade sauce is pretty good. A combo meal comes with salad, rice, broccoli, and soup. I’d recommend their shioyaki(citrus, salt grilled) dishes, which are very light and delicious. And adding 3 pieces of california rolls or a whole side of tempura for only $ 1.00 to your combo? I can’t complain. I’ve chatted with the owners a few times and they seem very friendly. For a fast food Japanese restaurant located in a mall food court, this place is definitely a great go-to for lunch!

So far so good! I’ve been here twice. The first time I got ramen and the second time I got tonkatsu. Both times the food was delicious. For the tonkatsu, I went right before they closed on a Friday and had no problems with wilted salad or a weird watery substance in the pork. And as far as table service, you guys have got to be joking right? You’re going to an outdoor mall food court and expect top notch table service? Gtfoutta here!

Far from an actual Sushi joint, if that’s what you’re looking for. The place is ok, if you’re looking for a quick chicken or salmon teriyaki fix. Other than that the rolls aren’t extensive and don’t carry sashimi

I always order the spicy tuna roll, miso soup and or California roll. The spicy tuna roll is my favorite! The prices are in line w the rest of the lunch in the Financial District and it’s pretty good for a to go Japanese lunch!

I wanted to try something different in Crocker Galleria and it was a bad decision. The line was busy so I thought it would be really good, but right from the start I should’ve known to go somewhere else. The actual restaurant is kind of dingy. There’s duct tape on the counter(saw this after I ordered) and the drink machine is an eyesore. I ordered the Tonkatsu(pork cutlet). It came out pretty quick, but once I got it, the salad was wilted, the pork cutlet was sitting in a brothy substance and the rice was nothing to rave about. The flavors were there but nothing else was. Table service was also lacking. Wish this place was better!

It was very quick serving, right after I paid, but the chicken teriyaki I didn’t like. Seemed like the chicken was a little hard and not fully cooked. Salad seemed to be a little old. Place seems to be nice, location is awesome, but I expected the food to be better.

Bland blah Japanese fast food — nothing to write home about. Miso soup was nicely salted. Salmon wasn’t great.

A staple for my lunch time break in FiDi. Why? Because it’s cheap, quick, and tasty! I go for the chicken donburi, extra broccoli, sauce on the side. Under $ 8 and I’m a happy camper.

It’s a little restaurant for lunch in Crocker Galleria, Financial District. Too bad the location isn’t that great. It’s tucked all the way at the end of the top floor and competing with other restaurants during peak hours. The good thing is that they offer basic Japanese food if you want to fix that craving you have of yours — because that is exactly what I did. I went here to get my udon fix and they offer sushi. I was really craving for udon during lunch and Unilocaled where in my vicinity would have it. This restaurant popped up on top when I searched for udon! So I went here and ordered udon, of course. Simple presentation. Thinner than usual on the udon texture, a bit on the salty side for their soup and too sweet with their yellow melons that they provide in their udon bowl. My suggestion is to cancel that sweetness of those sliced up yellow melons by sprinkling Japanese chili powder on top of everything and sipping on some of that hot soup. Good service, but the café lacks ambiance and Japanese décor. Their food quality lacks a Japanese cute(kawaii) style to it as well. I wouldn’t be back unless I am really craving for udon again!
