Folks who work in the store are all volunteers. The reason for the three stars is that this since it’s start has been a charity founded and supported by the Gay community.(it originally sort of share the space with The Quilt on Market St) but now it looks like it’s just a card shop and it’s been degayed to be in the Financial District. I’ve gone in several times and it’s hard to find cards that are gay oriented. I was a volunteer for about a year in the early 90’s things have changed since then I guess. You knew the organizations that were supported plenty of rainbow/red ribbon stuff, gay themed cards, etc. Now there are few same sex wedding/anniversary cards. The sign outside the store says«all proceeds go to local charities» It’s only till you get inside that there’s a sign that says it supports AIDS and LGBTQ charities. So in short, it’s basically just another generic card/souvenir shop in the financial district. Be nice if they stuck to their roots and it was a store where the«Downtown Queens»(like me) could pick up a gay themed gift inside of just overpriced generic greeting cards.
