Nice Cuts

Went to Betty for my haircut. She was good the first few times I went to her, but recently she’s been doing a horrible job. She cut my hair in 7 minutes and it felt like she was rushing me off the chair. My hair was clearly uneven.

Went here for a cut and shave. They charged me 20.00 for the cut and 5.00 for shave., came back in a two weeks for another shave and they wanted 15.00
And told they could not shave my beard for 5.00. I am traveling for two months and although repeat customer, tried to charge me different price. Go to Joe’s down the stews instead!

I’ve been going to Lea for a few years now. She’s consisted with her cuts and the nicest woman ever! :)

The lady didn’t speak English very well. I walked in to get a trim and now I look like retarded high school boy from 80s.

After over a decade w my barber, we now have the same schedule and I haven’t been able to see him for over six months. After experimenting around, I came across Betty. She was detail focused, trimmed my facial hair, and very personable. I still miss David at Male Image but Betty is a nice substitute.

The lady cut my hair only used a tool like an electric razor with some clippers to control the length. So the service was no better than cutting by yourself with a tool from supermarket

I really don’t like to write negative Unilocal reviews but I had my haircut several days ago and I’m still pissed about it. It is hands-​down the worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life.
When I started my haircut I showed the lady several pictures of how I usually cut it. I was very specific of how I’d like it to fade from short at the bottom to longer at the top. I emphasized the word «fade» multiple times. She literally took a 1 mm razor all along the sides of my head and all the way up to the top where she made a solid line. (See photo) One side is about a half an inch higher than the other. I look like a marine with bad haircut. The worst part is that it looks really unprofessional for my work. I cut my own hair three weeks ago and literally did a better job and this lady.
She Might not have spoken the best English and she might not have known what the word «fade» meant, but if that’s the case then don’t take a job in customer service where your job is to take specific directions from people and follow through.
I’m giving this place two stars and not one because I’ve gone in here before and a lady named Leah did a pretty good job. Unfortunately she’s not there very often so you have to settle with someone else.
You have to understand when you go into places like this that these Chinese ladies don’t have a lot of experience. They just one day decided «OK now I’m going to be a hairstylist,» and that’s what they do. It’s like playing roulette with your hair. Sometimes you can get a good one. More often than not you won’t.
To their credit all of the ladies are very friendly and it’s inexpensive. I’m guessing that’s why they have a lot of five-​star reviews. Bottom line is that it’s not a good haircut. No blending, no shaping, no skill or care put into it at all. It’s cheap. That’s it. I’ll be wearing hats for the next few weeks.

Love this place. Can usually get in without having to book an appointment. The haircut is great, the price is amazing.

Walked in for the first time without an appointment to get a haircut and was greeted happily by the staff. There were couple ladies cutting hair and I ended up with Leah who was just finishing up.
Good hair cut, decent price ($ 20), listened to what I wanted, and had some pleasant chit chat.

I am giving only 3 stars because of the great services the hairdressers given to everybody and eliminate 2 stars for the prices. If you are here for a hot sexy look of haircut, YOU are in the right place. If you are cutting down on your expenses then this place is a place for people like you. However, if you want a sexy girlie look (hehe) you are in a wrong place dear. I don’t cut my hair here just my friends.

Stay away as far as you can. You’re better off with Salon Baobao with an extra 20. Came in and as for an inch off the top of my hair and an inch and a half off the top. Homegirl does the sides and is doing an ok job. But then she started shaving the top as if I wanted to shave my head Britney Spears circa 2007. I started freaking out and told her wtf she she was doing. And she told me that an inch and a half off equates to the number of the blade. Definitely a haircut nightmare and now everyone I know will think I’m going through something. Thanks a lot Not-So-Nice-Cuts.and don’t ever go to Julie.

Pretty Good. This was my first time here and my experience was pretty good. They were so fast. I came in with a head full of hair and Betty had my haircut within 8 – 10 minutes. I have never had a haircut this fast. However I felt like if she would have taken a little bit more time that it would have looked better in places but I understand that there were people waiting and there were only 3 people working at the time I was there. Overall I am satisfied with the cut and will come back, its 20 bucks and turned out good.

Still awesome, figured out that the woman who cuts his hair is named betty. They love him there!

Still love having Leah cut my hair (she’s the absolute best… cutter and person), but I’m dropping a star for the greed of the owners. They’ve raised prices now a total of $ 4 over the course of the past 12 months. What’s up with that?
Nice Cuts ownership… stop raising your prices. It will only cause your business to, eventually, decline as people take their business elsewhere. This affects your staff… just stop it already.

Went here for the first time and was extremely impressed. I got Jenny (ask for her if you can!) and asked for a 1 on the side, blended, leaving something on top to do something with it.
My hair isn’t awesome and typically clumps/​falls flat in places, but she conjured up some stylist wizardry and blended my sides better than any haircut I’ve ever received. Bottom line, they know how to cut mens hair — and it makes sense considering they’re based in the heart of the Castro. Will definitely be returning.

It’s fine. A bit of a more personal vibe than supercuts, but they just raised their prices to $ 20 for a men’s cut, so if you’re looking for something simple you can probably find better value.
They do make appointments and take credit card. Women’s cuts are $ 35.

We were nervous about finding someone to do our hair after moving here because We LOVED our last place (Bladerunner in SLO).
Nice Cuts is not fancy, but they are in the middle of the Castro and we love Betty! She knows what look the boys in the Castro want, and will let you know if the guy next to you is checking you out lol. They are also so inexpensive, we’re hooked.
It’s worth making an appointment, even if you don’t have much notice. They get busy and give priority to appointments.
We go to Betty every time, but the other gals are great too.

Good, fast, cheap! I was able to come in as a walk-​in and saw Betty. My hair is kind of a challenge due a rather epic cowlick, but she did an excellent job and quickly… probably 25 minutes to a reasonably trendy haircut. Not quite Vegas nightclub promoter trendy, with the buzz cut on the sides and straightened gelled hair on top, but solid. And I’m sure she could have done that had I asked. It was a bargain at $ 18 especially given the very central location.
If you wanna see Betty her card says she works Thursday — Monday.

Quick and good haircuts. If you make an appt they are pretty good at sticking to it even though others are waiting. Great deal too. Thanks guys!
