I attempted to order something via eat24 and listed my delivery time as 2pm. There was an old note from a previous order that said deliver at 4:15. They called asking about delivering something early, it was 1:45pm at that point. So I confirmed delivery time. The lady who I spoke with said 4:15. I said that was wrong and she got an attitude and said, «Maybe you guys need to update your note» along with other snide remarks. I’ll never order from them again! Bad customer service!

Oh Morty’s… I’ve tried giving you feedback on our«relationship», but it’s finally time to have the big talk. I’m breaking up with you. You gave me some great food over the years, but even with your own stock of bike messengers delivering your food, you can’t seem to *ever* follow through on the delivery estimates you tease us with. Seamless, Grubhub, Eat24 all show estimates of 40 – 50 minutes, but my last FIVE orders have shown up late. And not just an annoying 15 minutes late, but consistently late by more than an hour. And the past THREE times you messed up my order. It’s not the delivery guy that’s the problem, because the food’s showing up hot(most of the time). It’s the fact that you’re obviously taking more orders than you can make correctly or in a reasonable amount of time and you’re setting people up with unrealistic expectations by your delivery estimates. I’ll miss you Morty’s, but it’s time to quit you. If I want to wait 2 – 3 hours for a sandwich, I’ll head over to Ike’s.

Morty’s is an awesome sandwich shop with great customer service! The daily specials boast excellent homemade classics like Mac’n’cheese. The daily soups are made fresh and include meat, meatless, and/or vegan options. Calling in for pick up is the way to go as they are generally really busy and delivery can take awhile. When I call in my order is ALWAYS ready, hot, and waiting when I arrive(10 min after ordering).

Not sure where anyone gets off giving them 4 stars? 2, at best. Refrain, my peoples. Refrain. I ordered a veggie sammy and a chicken BLT. Major meh.

The first sandwich I got was the Portobello one… which was squishy, slimy, and pretty disappointing for the price. I’ve since gotten the Italian twice and it was good. This place is quite expensive for what you get in the sandwiches though…

Ask me about how much I loved the time they made me wait 90+ minutes. For a salad. 2 stars for the passable salad.

If you’re in the area this is the place to go! I ordered lunch for my office of about 50 people to be delivered by 11:30 am. The delivery was prompt and all the hot sandwiches were still hot. This is saying a lot for a Thursday lunch in the financial district. We order from different places all the time and it is really hit or miss.(mostly miss!) Morty’s has a wide variety of sandwiches. I ended up ordering 6 different types of hot sandwiches, 2 of the vegetarian options and 2 types of salads. I received nothing but good feedback from my team. Chick BLT. 174, Chickee Chickee Parm Parm, Dirty Bird, Classic Ruben and the Meatball Sub — All worth the hype! Veggie Burger with swiss(Supposedly the best veggie burger in the City) The Shroomin — Perfect combination of mushrooms, pesto and veggies. Cob Salad — Was good could’ve use a tad bit more ham Spinach Salad — Had the perfect blend. Will definitely order again.

So glad I found this place on Unilocal last night! Split a spinach salad and a chicken parm sandwich, both of which were great, but the salad, especially, was out of this world! I’m a sucker for gouda, the jicama gave the entire dish a nice crunch, and the cranberry/mandarin/walnut combo provided a refreshing sweetness. The sandwich was fine, but nothing to write home about; will definitely want to spit a Reuben the next time I’m there, as I’m reading all these raving review about it! Also, free drink when you check in on Unilocal.:P

So many times as I cruise eat24 for delivery options I’ve seen Morty’s pop up when I search vegan. Finally, I decided to actually look at their menu to see what was available. To my surprise, both their menu and reviews on Unilocal confirmed they had vegan options and that the owners knew what that meant. Ok, let’s do this. I was actually ordering for my office, a total of about 30 people, so the non-vegan options were appreciated by almost everyone but me. The delivery went without a hitch, both being on-time and having everyone’s order correct. As for my food, the soy reuben, it was definitely a tasty sandwich. Bear in mind you have to order without the cheese and russian dressing. I subed the russian dressing for dijon mustard, which was a little too horseradishy for my taste. Next time I think I’ll just do regular mustard. The rest of my co-workers really enjoyed their food and we’re already thinking about ordering from Morty’s again. While lunch was on work’s dime, I’m sure they appreciate that everything was reasonably priced(as I would if it was coming directly out of my wallet.)

I’ve been coming here for the past four years, and I love their sandwiches! And the prices are great to, around $ 8-$ 10 for a sandwich. I recently ordered one of their specials: Catfish po’boy. The catfish was fried to perfection, and the spicy dressing took me back to New Orleans. The restaurant, located in the Tenderloin, is pretty divey but that’s a part of the charm. There is a good amount of seating, and televisions that usually have a sports game on. You can also order their sandwiches on Eat24, and you get a discount with your first order.

I’ve actually never stepped foot into Morty’s, but let me tell you that it’s one of my favorite sandwich places in the city. As a die hard loyal to Eat24(over 500 orders in the past 5 years), it’s obvious I’m a fan of cozy Netflix nights with my favorite take-out. But, the endless amount of pizza, thai and chinese places can get really old really quickly. One day, I cant remember when, I took a chance on Morty’s deli and ordered the chop salad and the Jankbot turkey sandwich. I now order delivery from Morty’s 2 – 3 times a week. Some of my favorites are The Jankbot, the chop salad, the eggplant parmesan, the reuben, chicken parm, and the tender burger. Every once in a while I’ll order a cookie too and they’re fabulous. Only 4 stars because they use postmates. No big deal, except postmates generally take longer than your good old fashion restaurant delivery. I usually wait at least 45 minutes for my good. But, because I adore it oh so much, I don’t necessarily mind.

I love this place! I come here often and get the same thing EVERY time: chicken blt with avocado(which is extra). I usually order my sandwich via phone that way I don’t have to wait as long when I come in. MD always used fresh ingredients you can taste. They also use this pesto spread(?) which helps to deliver a huge flavor punch, along with smokiness of the bacon and the seasoning of the chicken breast. The service is on point and the place is always clean, despite the sometimes questionable location.

Went to Morty’s for lunch while walking around Downtown San Francisco. As I walked in, I see the line is long as I stand behind the last person in line. We snatched a table right away because most of the other tables were for two people. I ordered the Pop’s classic sandwich which consisted of turkey, ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese and some mayonnaise. The bread was soft and delicious. I love a great turkey and ham sandwich. I also ordered my daughter a grilled cheese sandwich on white bread. Looks like they almost burnt my daughter’s grilled cheese sandwich, but she loved the melted cheddar cheese coming out of her sandwich. Great place to eat. We came in with the lunch crowd. I saw people in suits and professionals picking up food orders. There’s no table service for this joint because as you can see on the napkin holder, it states all these rules which includes clean up your own table. It also says not to waste napkins. We might as well use our shirts to wipe up our mess. They seem too cheap to offer utensils, napkins, etc. I can understand that they are trying to save money. What saved them from a low rating was their food. If it wasn’t for the food, this place would probably get a low rating from me. I do agree about don’t talk on your cell phone while ordering because that is rude. The lady up front was taking orders and answering phones, so I totally give her props to multitasking and being able to put a smile on her face while dealing with customers. I highly recommend this place if you are in Downtown SF. Food is great!
