Interesting find. On the way to St. Patrick’s parade, hubby and I decided to give this a shot. We’ve lived here for years and never went inside, so we figured«why not!!!» This was a pleasantly surprising stop. The food was fresh, hubby’s avocado bacon sandy had fresh avocado — yum. I had a party melt — juicy, flavorful, tender meat. My only hang up is that the patty was a bit too greasy, and the grease glimmered all over the bread. That being said, I do get that the patty melt is not diet friendly, and I’m not advocating for dry toast. I just wish it wasn’t dripping all over the place. Nonetheless, it was yummy and I would come back!

Great donuts, dangerous neighborhood! Grab your chocolate frosted or glazed and beat it outta there!!! So so service but still a great morning treat. I recommend early morning before the«hood» really gets going.

I got quick confirmation that they make their own donuts but was then dismissively told«I don’t know» when I ask what is used to fry them. I just wanted to know if it’s oil or lard. I’d happily visit again if I were told they use oil.

Date of Visit: May 2013 While on vacation to SF we stopped in here after going to the farmer’s market down the street. Quite a variety of food — donuts to breakfast to Asian to standard diner fare. Kind of interesting but definitely have something for everyone. My family and I had breakfast items and all was good. A friend of ours had Korean beef and damn, it was a huge serving for next to nothing. So. freaking. good. It’s not 5 Star restaurant. It’s corner and hole in the wall. It’s local flavor. It’s a small shop and there were maybe 10 of us together and we filled the place up. For the price, it couldn’t be beat! Oh, and a note on the service — great. The staff was helpful in trying to figure out something to choose and was patient with my somewhat cranky toddler who didn’t seem to know what he wanted. she offered a donuts while he waited — you could tell he was hungry(beyond hungry!).

Meh. After the reviews I expected something a little special. Not so. I make a better breakfast myself.

This place has a good breakfast for the price. They also make a better burger than the pizza place next to them. The problems are that the place isn’t very clean. The people who frequent the place are not very clean. It’s hard to eat while having to smell another persons funk.

Super nice staff. Working on a Sunday afternoon in that neighborhood? That cashier girl had the biggest smile and most cheerful voice. She even seemed to remember returning patron’s names and orders.

Never judge a donut shop by its shady neighborhood! My friend(who lives in Alameda) swears by their breakfast & drives down here every weekend. Today I was walking on Golden Gate, stomach growling & ended up here. Remembering how much my friend raves about this joint made me grab a seat & order a blueberry waffle & eggs. IT. WAS. DELICIOUS.

Oh the Tenderloin, a place where you can buy crack, bomb a$$ bahn mis, bread, fruits, milk all in one corner. How I hate but love you so. I stumbled upon this place because of mere curiosity. I always pass it on my way to work and it seem like it is always filled with people. So one Saturday morning my bf and I decided to try this little hole in the wall breakfast joint. The place is sketchy, the décor is no comparison to Stacks or some other high end breakfast place. It is a little messy. The waitress greeted us and sat us down, she was really nice. I got the spicy sausage and egg combo with a side of one waffle. The sausage was DELISH! the eggs were well prepared(over easy) and their hash browns were def tasty. I compare this breakfast to the one I had at Toast(which was not that impressive). The waffle was buttery and Oh so so so good! For the amount of money you spend at Stacks I can say that you can have 3 breakfast here. Don’t be repelled by your surrounding, yes you will see drug deals happening when you look out the window, when you come out of the restaurant you might get slapped in the face with the smell of urine, but this is by far one of the best breakfast joints I’ve been to. It’s cheap, yummy, and everything nice.

I am slowly becoming a fan of this place. It may not be in a prime location and it may not have the best looking set up, it is still clean, the service is quick, the prices are reasonable and the ladies are very nice. I tried the fish burger and onion rings. They were okay, but the next time I know to put in two orders of onion rings. I inhaled the bag of onion rings and wanted more. Next I tried one of their breakfasts(grilled apple sausage, scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes and wheat toast) for lunch. It was decent and the portions were more than enough to fill my stomach. I noticed they have grits on the menu, too. I love me some eggs, sausage and grits for breakfast. I went back last week for their burger and fries, again. The guy on the grill fixed that burger just right(when it’s done right — it makes me wanna slap the cook). The ¼ pound hamburger patty was cooked medium(not totally rare, but pinkish on the inside and juicy), seasoned well and quite delish with all the fixings(lettuce, tomato, mayo and onion). Watch out Mickey D’s, Burger King and Nation’s because I found a place where I truly enjoy the burger and fries — All Star Donuts and Burgers.

I’ve had all of their hamburgers and for the price I can’t complain. My absolute favorite is definitely the bacon avocado cheeseburger. The meat is seasoned well and compared to the run-of-the-mill fast food joint, it certainly tastes more homemade, which is a positive for me. The inside is a bit shabby and the tables can be a bit flimsy. I usually stop noticing after my first bite. Please check them out and enjoy yourself. The staff is friendly and try to get you on your away asap.

Love this place. I stop in from time to time for thier muffin special. It’s a delicious, sinful little treat, but is like a real-food version of an egg mcmuffin! Simple and scrumptious! I love the girl that works the counter, she is so sweet and friendly, and knows what I want as soon as I come through the door.

My first impression of Allstar wasn’t the best. I’ve seen some shady stuff happen in this certain part of mcallister and didn’t expect much. Little did i know they serve delicious breakfast and lunch for an affordable price. Really nice service, always keeping your coffee full. Personally love their allstar omelet. Good pick if you’re in the neighborhood.

haven’t been here in months but i used to live down the street and sometimes i miss how good their burgers and fries were… and soo cheap. this place is a great deal and for food of pretty good quality. I can’t speak for the bacon, but the burgers are MUCH higher quality than any of the other Allstar franchises in the city. The breakfasts are a great deal too. Also, according to my friend mat, it is the best place to people-watch in San Francisco.

Sometimes you want waffles. Sometimes you want egg whites. Sometimes you want both. Rarely do they come together. For $ 4. No extra charge for whites, and I’m pretty sure the guy made them with little or no oil. A surprising cheap, delicious and healthy ‘loin find.

The donuts are like .75 for the glazed, sugar and chocolate. I just brought 2 chocolates. It was ok but not soft. The service was fast. I went when I volunteer at the Asian Heritage.

Today I was in need of a medicinal lunch after a late-ish night out, and I definitely found All Star Donuts and Burgers to be of high therapeutic value. It looked like a greasy spoon diner and donut shop, and thankfully that is exactly what it is. My treatment plan involved a mexi-coke, veggie burger with cheese, and fries. The fries were plentiful and the burger was of the standard generic veggie variety, my only complaint being that they didn’t melt the cheese on the grill(it was just cold chillin’ on top of the burger). Extra points for the inclusion of dill pickle slices. Highly restorative.

So far I’ve eaten about everything they have on their breakfast menu, the bacon avocado cheeseburger, and the All Star stir fry. The food, to be perfectly honest, varies between a B and an A, but most stuff is B+ or so. However, why 5 stars? First of all, there are some amazing simple and delicious dishes though most is standard diner fare(though well-made)… for example, the fried egg sandwich was my breakfast for my first two weeks of school. Yet, that isn’t what makes it 5 stars. It’s the service. Before my first day of class, I went in and got the aforementioned fried egg sandwich. Since it was on my way to school, I went there the next day and right away the cashier lady asked me if I wanted«the usual.» I looked confused, thinking she mistook me with someone else. She laughed and told me she would have a fried egg sandwich ready soon. I was too shocked to say anything, but after talking with several friends about this place, it turns out she does that to everyone. After one time at All Star, you’ll feel like a regular. The servers are incredibly friendly and regardless of how tired or upset I am when I go there, they always seem to make my day a little better with a smile and some cheap, delicious food.

One restaurant, a million choices. As the name suggests, it offers donuts and burgers, but I go there for their other specialty: breakfast. Two eggs, hash browns, toast, and coffee, all delicious and for just over $ 5. Cheap, yummy diner food is nice, but what makes All Star especially impressive is that along with the deal you get super friendly service. After going there only a few times, they remembered that I like my hash browns extra-crispy and that I prefer wheat toast. I’m impressed. Aside from the donuts and diner fare, they also offer a variety of stir fry dishes, and everything is very reasonably priced.
