Came here to grab lunch while on my way to Bart. The spot is right next to the embarcadero station entrance which is super convenient. It’s a small hole in the wall sandwich shop primarily for pickup especially during rush hours. If you’re in a hurry do not come here between 12−2pm. I know other Unilocal specify 12 – 1, but I’ve been here around 2 and it’s still buy. You will have at least 20 orders ahead of you and a 20 – 30 min way for a sandwich! I had the Flying Dutchman sandwich. Came with a variety of meats including turkey, ham, and bacon. Asked for all the fix-ins, but surprisingly the sandwich was not as jam packed as other pics I saw on Unilocal.I wish there was more lettuce because the meat was on the verge of being too much. Everything was encompassed by a large toasted Dutch crunch roll which is my favorite and only way to order if I’m not making my sammy myself. The prices are more than decent for the downtown/financial district area. My sandwich cost $ 6.50 and it was a generous serving. The wait was way too long overall but I think I’ll come back because it’s conveniently next to Bart and there are a ton of other sandwich options I want to try.

Miss Tomato has been a local favorite for many years. The owners and staff are superb. Every order is seriously and deliberately executed with care. This can be difficult to accomplish when the majority of the patrons are ordering and taking their orders to go. Yes, the line can be a bit long from time to time, but that is due to the consistency of their food and friendly service. The people who work there like what they do and you can feel it. Very reasonably prices and expectations consistently met make this a very successful and popular place to grab a bite and rush back to work. I have also ordered catering for parties and the attention to detail was superb. The owner even called to ensure everything was to our satisfaction… just minutes after everything was delivered! Wow! Many of us who live or work in the FiDi love this local favorite. Their recipe for success is palpable. Good people, good product, consistency and they like making their customers and neighbors feel good.

This place was magnificent. I’ve walked by here several times and always had thought to myself to check it out. Well today during lunch I didn’t want just a plain old sandwich from Subway, so I came here instead. It wasn’t super packed(around 11:30am), but it did have a decent line almost reaching to the door. I went with the spicy chicken on Dutch crunch bread for my order. Everything is hand made and there’s a decent staff, but it took maybe close to 8 minutes to get my food. The staff was friendly and the pricing was pretty good for the sandwich(came out to about $ 6.50 and it had a lot of meat). The sandwich itself was delicious. Paired with the Dutch crunch it was just a fantastic combination of spices with the chicken and went down nicely. I enjoyed this sandwich and I’m even thinking of going back today!

Tried their gyro, it was ok. Nice and hot, but not much flavor in my opinion. Still give this place 5 stars, but stick with the sandwiches!

One of my favorite sandwich shops downtown! The best part is the gyro wraps — they are so damn good. Get the beef and lamb, spicy. Oh, but try not to come between 11:30 and 1 because the line is out of control!

So very close to the Embarcadero bart stop, I had to stop by this place after reading so many reviews of this place. The shop was spacious but during the lunch rush I can’t say that anymore. I was looking for sandwich shop that would replace my favorite sandwich spot(Good Luck Café near chinatown). I ordered the Flying Dutchman on dutch crunch(Roasted beef, pepper Jack cheese, pastrami, pepperoni, turkey, ham, bacon, lettuce, jalapeño peppers and tomato). It didn’t really wow me as much. The bread wasn’t toasted as much and though it looked good, I felt as if the ingredients didn’t go together. I probably come back and try another sandwich one day.

I have been coming to this sandwich shop for about 2 years. The food is good, they have a selection of drinks that you cannot get elsewhere in the area. Lately I have stopped going in as much because the wait time s can be a little too long. I like the owner and the staff — they are always very pleasant. I will keep coming here — maybe do my order ahead of time and just come in and pick it up. Worth a try … The sandwiches are very good and the wraps are so filling and wonderful

I have tried several sandwiches now, and enjoyed them all. Place is busy at lunchtime with a line out the door. Sandwiches are served quickly and hot. Place is small, I’ve not eaten there.

Service is incredibly friendly and helpful, the Spicy Mama is the second best sandwich I’ve ever had, and the vibes are fantastic. Great place to kick back and catch up on some reading while enjoying a sandwich and a smoothie.

Love Miss Tomato’s delicious deluxe breakfast burritos — it is a better alternative to the GREASYFATTENING breakfast burrito. Miss Tomato’s Deluxe Burritos are awesome in that they a full of HEALTHY good stuff like egg whites(though my preference is the whole egg yolk and all), spinach, avocado, mushrooms, black beans, cheese, salsa = yum. And the best part of this wonderful breakfast is that it comes with your choice of coffee or juice. How can you go wrong in eating a delicious healthy breakfast with juice to boot(I’ve been coffee free to 2 yrs.); sounds like a win-win to me.

This is a great sandwich shop in financial district with decent prices and tasty food! They have a ton of sandwich options, some of which are really unique. I’ve been here twice and loved my sandwiches both times! The first time I came, I ordered the masala panini — it was a chickpea patty with some veggies and then an extremely spicy sauce. Beware of this sauce if you don’t enjoy spicy food, it very tasty but also very spicy. The sandwich overall was very unique and I really enjoyed it. The second time, I ordered the healthy kicks sandwich. Don’t be scared by the name, this sandwich is surprisingly good. The veggies are very fresh and the special sauce they have adds a boost of flavor. If you’re in the mood for something light and refreshing, definitely go for this sandwich! The line is sometimes long for this place, but it goes by very fast and the food doesn’t take too long to come out either. This is definitely one of my go-to sandwich places in fidi!

Miss Tomato will give you much more food than what you would expect. The sandwiches are filled to the rim and very tasty. I had the chicken salad sandwich on the crunchy Dutch bread and it was delicious. Check out the picture! The banana bread is really good too. Tip: If you don’t want so much bread, ask to have the inside of the bun taken out and then you’ll ultimately get more meat!

I stumbled upon this place and it was pure throw back… look what I found… the classic New York Seltzer. I will most certainly come back just on that fact alone.

So far the best sandwich at the best price in the downtown area. Small with hardly any seating, the line moves brusquely. Be sure the try the chicken one with avocado and a bit of spice. Unless you’re starving, a half a sandwich should be fine. Oh and Dutch crunch!

We walked by miss tomato after a yoga class craving a sandwich and stopped in here because of the fantastic smell coming out. Since this was our first time here we had no idea what to order, but the employees here were incredibly helpful with recommendations and had such a great attitude. It immediately made me feel like this would be a comfortable and friendly place. Then to top it all off their sandwiches are impeccable. Each of us got something completely different and loved every last bite. You can definitely count on us becoming regulars here.

The only time I go here is if the line to Sushirito is out of control. Although it is advertise as a sandwich shop, the sandwiches are underwhelming. I would rather go to Lee’s. The gyros, however, are delicious. It isn’t the best I’ve had, but it does the job. The only complaint I have is that their hummus are lack-lusting. It is definitely missing some dimension. Would I go here again? Sure, if the line is short and I’m too lazy to walk far from my office. The portions are reasonable and they are very quick in completing orders.

I love Miss. Tomato! Wish I could give her a hug! The Falafel wrap is my favorite. The portion is huge and worth every penny. I have tried a couple of other sandwiches as well. They are all good. Miss Tomato’s Healthy Kick is another one to try. They are reasonably priced, considering you are in FiDi. The people working here are very warm and friendly. It can get really crowded during lunch. But the service is quick. They have a few tables inside, but I usually take out. Overall, a great spot for lunch!

I love how affordable the sandwiches are. $ 5.99 and you get a nice 8 – 9 inch sandwich. I’ve tried a couple here and they were all ok. Not really great, but not bad. I find that they make sandwiches pretty slow though. You see idle staff standing around watching one person make the sandwich. Why is that? One thing I hate about this place is that once you go in, even for a few minutes, you come out smelling weird. It’s not even a good smell. It’s stuffy in there… So if you’re waiting for your order, stand outside.

I used to work at the 388 Market building and LOVELOVELOVELOVED Miss Tomato sandwiches!!! what a lunch gem. I live in NYC now, but what I would do for a Monica’s Special right now. you never forget your first Miss Tomato sandwich. The people who run the shop are very friendly. It’s good vibes all around.

I was looking to try new restaurants for lunch and found Miss Tomato Sandwich Shop from Emily C.‘s list. I’m glad I did because I enjoy the service and the food! Like other reviews said, the shop was warm and I almost thought I was next to a fire place — kidding, I love it warm when it was raining and windy outside. It was always nice to get into a shop which got you warm up right away :) I got Miss Tomato’s Healthy Kick and it was very delicious! I love the avocado spread and the freshness of the sandwich. It’s definitely very healthy(and yummy, too). $ 6.5 including tax for a sandwich in FiDi? That’s almost impossible and it is real! There were lines but the staff were working as fast as they can. The manager was super friendly and he even know I was a first-timer! «I know my customers» with a big smile, said the manager, ah, I’m coming back to Miss Tomato Sandwich Shop for sure!
