I absolutely loved Peter Morrison’s magic performance, simply amazing. I treated my boyfriend to our 3rd Anniversary to this show since he adores magic shows and was pleasantly amazed by the entire show. Will definitely be coming back again when in town and suggesting it to all friends and family. This amazing classic magic show is a MUSTSEEN if you are in San Francisco or live close, well worth it. I was even ready to leave more money for such an amazing performance. I used to be a skeptic, but this show left me in awe and a newfound appreciation for the art of magic performance. Simply Bravo. :)

Excellent, intimate illusionist experience. Very comfortable. Some of the close-up work with cards is absolutely as good as you’ll ever(not) see. Peter is a very charming host. This is a must-see in SF.

Peter Morrison, the owner of the Marrakech Magic Theater, is a class act, more importantly he’s a gentleman. It’s a intimate classical magic show, presented beautifully, and is clearly Peter’s passion. I’ve watched this show 3 years ago and and this time I came back again to see Peter with my 8 year old son. As a fan of magic, I will definitely comeback with my daughter when she’s older as well. Knowing that my son was on the shorter side Peter was kind to seat us up front. As the host and star of the show, he takes this into consideration as he personally seats you himself. The seating is also a raked house so the people in the back can see clearly as well. Production value: The venues has major theatrical and production value for such a small intimate theater, including advanced lighting and sound systems and even lasers. Tips: It was great seeing Peter again but I was excited to hear that when he’s on vacation he is featuring other guest magicians a couple of times a year. He only features the Bay Area’s best, so it will be a good idea check in on his website occasionally to see if he has any guest stars. This is the only show like it in San Francisco, so if you have a small holiday party consider buying out the theater for your group or corporate event. Recommendation: I think that it is important to understand that this is a one man show and so don’t expect a big flashy act like you might see in Las Vegas. This show can’t be compared with Penn and Teller or Copperfield where they have a huge team of people to help them, with that in mind you will have a great time.

I walked in a little late to the show and was immediately welcomed by the charismatic magician. He did not hesitate to engage in conversation with each attendee after the show; allowing for a very intimate and personal interaction. Interestingly, we grew up in the same place. A great talent. I’ll be bringing some friends to see him again soon.

I might be amongst the minority here, but I thought this was fun, yet very cheesy, which took away from the magic and the comedy. It’s an intimate venue, maybe 25 people at most. We bought our tickets off Goldstar for $ 28. I don’t think it was worth the money, even though we got the tickets for 50% list price. The magic was pretty good. Peter is a pretty good illusionist. But his personality and the style of the show really threw us off. It seemed very fake and old school. This definitely is a unique experience, but I would advise people who ask me to to skip out and save your money.

Great show for my family and two older teens. Highly recommend it as an interactive show. We get bored easily but this flew by and kept us smiling and entertained.

Came here for our anniversary last night and was completely mesmerized by the entire act. We drove an hour to get here and found street parking with difficulty, only to realize my husband had booked tickets for the following night instead of this night! The owner Peter was very sweet about this and since the current show was full, asked us to stop by for the 9pm show instead of coming again the next day. That was really nice of him and saved us a lot of time driving home and back. Fast forward to 8:15 pm were escorted by Peter to the lounge where he gave all of us a preview of his show with some delightful card tricks! Then the actual show which had some really cool performances and ‘mind reading’ tricks. The audience was small and so all of us got a chance to assist on the stage and it was a really nice and intimate experience. I haven’t seen a magic show since I was a kid and I truly enjoyed this one. A note on the food — we did not get drinks but we did order a couple of dishes which were alright, would suggest eating somewhere else beforehand since there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.

Such a fun night. A very warm welcome at the door started things off just right. We were taken to the first room, where we were served food and drinks and a private magic show by our magician, Peter. He was VERY friendly & fun. He made our night very special. The actual show was great as well.

Part of the 9pm magic show last night. Peter, our magician, greeted us at the door. This show is located in a basement just off of O’Farrell. This is a bit of a sketchy area, lots of homeless effervescent people on the street if you catch my drift. We entered and were seated in a Marrakech Indian décor waiting room where drinks were served and a limited menu which we did not order off of. Don’t come here for the food or drinks, just the show:) Peter, a very friendly magician came around to all of the guests and did some card tricks in the waiting area and I take it was sizing up his audience. There was limited staff there as some staff did not show. Service a bit slow. We were then escorted to our seats in a very small dark theater. It was a great intimate space. The show was about an hour long with Peter, the magician the only act. He wore a tux and was a little to showmanship for my taste. Very old school but a good magician. Very traditional magic tricks. Glad it was only an hour but entertaining. Too many other venues that are more current. Won’t be back but satisfied my curiosity.

Peter is simply AMAZING!!! I have seen several magicians but none come this close not make it so personal. He can read your mind and do the tricks but most importantly engage the audience and have them participate. That makes it so much fun! I brought in my customer along for this and he loved the show too. I am going back again with family this time for my wife’s birthday within the same month… you can tell if I recommend this place or not :)

AMAZING. My husband surprised me with Peter’s show for my birthday and I absolutely loved it! Peter is a very charming man, great entertainer, and an incredible magician. It was my first magic show ever and I had a lot of fun constantly being surprised and amazed by his tricks. I think my husband enjoyed it even more than I did(which was a lot), he kept turning to me asking«How is it possible?! How did he do that?» to which I could only respond«Magic, my dear, it’s magic.» Very fun show, would definitely recommend it for a fun night out!

Woohoo, first magic show in the books! I wasn’t too sure what to expect but I came here for a birthday celebration with a close friend. They have two showtimes, one at 6:30PM and one at 9:30PM. Tickets are $ 45 which doesn’t include drinks or food. We arrived at 6:00PM for the 6:30 show even though they open their doors at 5:30 for people who want to snack or eat before the show. Once you walk down the stairs, you’re greeted and escorted into the lounge area by the magician himself. We ordered a few drinks and hummus as an appetizer before the show. They appeared to be short staffed that night because there was only one waiter and it took about 20 minutes to get our drinks and hummus… I told the magician it was my friends birthday and he gave us a little preview of the show while we ate our hummus. The show started around 6:40PM and it was amazing! Definitely not what I expected and the magician(Peter Morrison) involves a lot of the guests. I was even a part of one of his acts. Overall, mind=blown. I kept trying to see where the cameras were or if he had some type of contraption behind his acts but I guess he was just THAT good. The show ended around 8:00PM. Parking down here is impossibles so I would highly suggest taking an Über. Overall, pretty cool show, Peter even performed for Neil Patrick Harris before! That’s gotta tell you something =)

A really exciting show. You get an incredible personal touch and and treatment from Peter in the«pre-show»(which is why I recommend arriving as early as the doors open, 1 hour in advance). Peter is really fun and easy to talk to and I recommend you to talk freely to him — he’s a really nice guy with great stories ^_^ The theater has very few seats and it feels intimate and relaxed — really not a bad seat in the house ^_^ My first live magic show and I think it was a great experience — wholly recommended!

Apparently this place is listed as the #1 activity to do in SF on TripAdvisor and the Unilocal reviews definitely don’t lie either! I love finding new activities to do and so does my boyfriend, but I was pretty surprised he thought of taking me to our first magic show all on his own. :P The tickets are fairly priced at $ 45 for a 1.5 hour show(and more than that if you count arriving early). The website recommends you come an hour before the show to hang out in the small lounge area inside the building right next to the theater room. There, Peter(the magician), walks around to every single group and introduces himself and talks to you and does a bunch of tricks before the show even starts! He’s super charismatic and easy to talk to and will gladly take photos with you after the show too! We ate before coming, but there is a menu you can order from while waiting in the lounge, and the kebab plates being served looked super bomb. The show itself was mind-boggling. I think even a person 100% skeptical of magic would have no idea how in the world he managed to do these tricks. The theater you sit in is super small and intimate(the first row is just a foot from the stage), and Peter is really interactive with the crowd and gets everyone involved. It was a really fun, entertaining experience and I’d love to go back and do it again!

There’s not much I can say that other’s have not — plus, I don’t want to give away anything :) I see magic as a game — try to figure out how they did it. Slight of hand? Mirrors? Mathematical determinism? Trap doors? I couldn’t figure any of these out. I am impressed! Months later, I’m still thinking about it. Peter, the magician, is also super friendly! I’m not sure what his rotation is and when he mixes in new material — but I definitely want to go again! Be sure to show up early — Peter does parlor tricks for everyone who arrives early. You can order a drink or snacks, and see a variety of card tricks to warm you up for the main act.

It’s sometimes the spontaneous unplanned activities that end up being the best. I came here after seeing the stellar Unilocal reviews and wasn’t too sure what to expect having never seen a magic show in person. I’d highly recommend coming for both tourists and locals alike. Peter M is incredibly charming, humble and he makes it such an intimate show(the theater seats about 30). And even though the skeptics«realize» it’s all a slight of hand, I love that you can’t figure it out easily, which kept my boyfriend and I debating for the rest of the night about how he did everything. Definitely do try and come early for a drink /food, talk to Peter(who makes an active effort to spend a few minutes with everyone) and get a good seat. They seat everyone according to the order they came in and height. This show is also very child-friendly, with over half the audience being families with children as young as 3 – 4 years old.

Add my voice to all the others, attending this show is a singular, special, exceptional experience. I’m not an experienced magic attendee other than some unfortunate experiences in childhood, but this is how it is meant to be. The tiny audience was evenly mixed between tourists and locals, children and adults, new people and those who had seen the show before. An hour before(and believe, me, show up early!) Peter visits the audience at their tables in the antechamber, sizing them up, remembering everybody, giving everybody a combination of the feel goods and the creeps. Meanwhile, you’re ordering drinks and food from the restaurant upstairs, very high quality hummus and fresh baked bread at moderate cost, and some signature drinks at $ 8 – 10, which is kind of ridiculous for a magic show. At the appointed time you all filter into a little room where Peter performs some astonishing and inexplicable illusions and psychic tricks. Have you ever seen a magic show on TV and wondered whether the audience was paid off or anything had a video edit? Peter does it, inches in front of your face, and you just want to pass out. He is incredibly skilled, and many people are seriously freaked out by the tricks.

This is a must see if you ever visit SF, and if you live in the bay area, shame on you for not attending this magic show already! Marrakech Magic Theater is located in the heart of SF adjacent to the Tenderloin but closer to Union Square. It’s Arabesque themed venue offers mystery which is quite appropriate to create suspense for the magic show. I wanted to take my bf out to something different, cool and impressive. Peter Morrison did not disappoint! We arrived a half hour early to sit in the lounge area and enjoy some of their cocktails and hummus before the show. Peter was already making the rounds to greet his guests in his spiffy tux and black and white wingtip shoes. When, he came to us, he whipped out a blank card and had me sign it. He instantly guessed that I was an artist of sorts– yes– interior designer! The card tricks commenced with his theatrical demeanor. I chose a card from his fan, and it was mine. Wow! He threw a 9 of hearts in the air and caught the card which was mine. I was progressively becoming more impressed. At the end of his intro, he tells me he has a special gift for me and pulls out his wallet with a zipper. What does he extract? My signature card(pictured) is folded up in his wallet. It was a final«WOW» moment. We loved the introduction Peter! Now on to the show… The theater holds about 40 people which is great for the intimate interactions. Peter himself seats you strategically. Audience participation is a big part of the show. I love the interaction with the kids. I bet they will remember this into their adult years. His theatrical demeanor and humor is perfect for a magician. We enjoyed hearing the story of how he came to be, the brief intro about the history of magic talking about Houdini and of course introducing some of the classic tricks. There are sounds effects and music with the show which embellish the entire experience. Peter was the best, and the Moroccan theme goes well with the mystery of magic. We enjoyed his show so much and will return again to share this special, great entertainment with others!

Twas a birthday to remember! No magic memory wiping occurred LOL. We began the night in a small pre-show room where you can order restaurant appetizers at the Marrakech restaurant where the theater is located. Tricks and magician: The key to a good show — tricks that captivate and keep you guessing. Morrison’s tricks had us questioning how he did them hours later at dinner… hidden cameras or a magical pen? Yes, we did start looking around for cameras. Morrison is also an all around nice guy who chatted with all the parties in a very personable manner before the show. The show itself is quite short — only an hour. You will be captivated by the trickery the entire hour. The theater itself is quite small, only about 7 rows back. Price: A bargain for San Fran… try looking up ticket prices for Cirque Shows and you may just faint from the price difference. Overall, a great experience. Morrison is able to connect with each audience member. The choice of tricks, magician, and the overall experience is a night to remember.

Unilocal is spot on! 100% so i was super hesitant even though i read reviews on Unilocal and trip advisor. but to my surprise all of the reviews were right. peter has preformed at the famous magic castle before. they advise you to come 1 hour early. if you come early enough he’ll go table to table to chat and do magic tricks at your table. then he’ll lead you to your seats in a little stage/room area. there truly aren’t any bad seats. however i just tend to like to sit all the way in the front if possible. he engages the audiences and asks for their participation on some acts. i totally highly recommend everyone and their mama to go see this show. it’s small and intimate and definitely leaves you in awe! great for a family outing, dates, etc. tips: *come early because they seat you closer to the stage dependent on when you come. *purchase tickets on goldstar for a discount *if you drove go early and find a fairly priced parking lot. *casual attire is fine. *accepts credit cards for food/drink purchases. *serves alcohol. *next door to the super 8 motel *approximately 1.5 hour show. no intermission. *usually two shows on the weekend. *kid friendly as well. *he used to perform on the streets. *small venue
