Sorry, not a fan! The good: –Potato Skins –Cocktails are pretty tasty The bad: –Servers are seriously pushy. We had a standing table and they would come up to us every 10 minutes to clear our plates and collect the bills. Maybe this is their way of being efficient or something but they would butt in on conversations to grab stuff and ask if we were still working on our food every 5 minutes even though we already said we were still working on it. Sheesh! They would also touch us everytime they walked past us which I didn’t like. This may be to prevent spills or something but there was clearly enough room to get around us without grabbing our backs every time. –Cramped. You’ll have to move every time someone has to go to the bathroom. Its like sardines in there –No happy hour specials really… and pretty pricey — They played the Warriors game on the two TVs they had but it was a stream from a computer and they left the computer mouse on the screen the whole time! Eh, not an ideal place to watch a game. We came a little after 5 for a 6:00 warriors game and got the last standing table. I mean if you came early and got a seat I guess it would be a little better but the service for me was very pushy and rude so I won’t be back.

If you want a cheap drink and a place with shitty food, don’t come here. Their specials are amazing and if you are in the industry. the fooooooood is fucking savage. If you aren’t used to food inbred city… You might hate the place. But for my bra’s of wherever !!! Come visit

Hidden bar that’s located right in FiDi alley and serves as a great spot to get your drink on after the working hours or during as well. There are bar dibs for munching. Sports tv available to watch the hype of games going on. Convenient place for the workday flow on drinks and dibs.

This place sucks! Loud, TV on sling box is terrible… And the servers are incompetent(except Cindy she rocks!) Won’t be back this year.

If you don’t mind noise and a crowd, Louie’s is the BEST. If you do mind, then what were you thinking going to a dive bar anyways? Make the ordering simple, get their burger. It’ll be mouthwatering. Make the timing simple, go during a Giants /GSW game. Eat, drink, cheer.

For starters walking into this bar was a trip, at first glance it’s just a dark entrance in an alley off of Market but when you enter you’re taken to a dive bar that has great music, great food and great people. We found a spot at the bar & our bartender was an awesome guy, knew the beer menu well and we ordered their red cider & a Guinness. The cider was served in a goblet & for $ 8 it sure got me a little tipsy. As for the food we ordered their potato skins which were hands down the best I’ve ever had. Topped with crispy pork belly, crema & a quail egg it was definitely quality food. After devouring those we ordered the barbacoa tacos & the sweet chicken wings. The barbacoa was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful while the chicken wings were HUGE, full of flavor & perfectly crisp on the outside while juicy on the inside. We moved from the bar to a high top and the only reason why I didn’t rate Louie’s 5 stars is because the service was a little slow, understandable for a busy bar but even when it slowed we had a difficult time catching our waitress. All in all a great place to visit for out of towners and locals alike, we’ll definitely be back!

5 stars because I would say that this bar has the best selection of food. I only got the chance to eat the loaded fries which I HIGHLYRECOMMEND, but looking at the table next to me, the baked potato with sour cream looked delicious! It was a tough choice picking from the dozen or so food choices. Originally I wanted to get the Cajun fries because it was so popular on Unilocal, but the bartender said they constantly change their menu and it probably changed 2 – 3 times since they had Cajun fries. The service was good, the waitresses always came by to pickup any dishes that weren’t used on our table. The venue was pretty small though… Imagine a narrow bar– that’s it right there.

Pleasantly surprised with Louie’s bar. A solid 4.5 stars for a Friday night spot to grab beers and a snack after work. Atmosphere: Crowded. Like, can hardly move around when I first got here around 7 on a Friday night. I guess typical for the happy hour/after work crowd. Once we had a beer some tables started to open up and we were able to score a seat. The place is pretty small, no frills. Service: These girls are amazing. Honestly. We just found a table and the server came immediately over asking for drinks and offering a menu. We never waited longer than a minute for our beers and the food we ordered came out super quick also. I have been a server for years and this bar is run super efficient, the bar tenders were cranking out service tickets and it really makes the place run smooth. Food/Drink: There is a great beer selection($ 5-$ 7 drafts) and the cocktails looked tasty also. I got an IPA from San Diego that I hadn’t tried before and really enjoyed it. Curious to see what other rotating beers they have next time I come. Only got sweet potato fries to snack on(which were delicious and served with some spicy ketchup yum) but they came hot and crisp, just perfect.

Dive bar that we somehow ended up in after super bowl city. It was packed that night. The atmosphere is really chill and friendly. Service was a tad slow but they were soooo busy that night so I completely understand. Somebody had the wifi password and was airplaying videos to the tv’s which was hilarious. I would def come back here again!

Vibe is cool and drinks are of decent pricing, but noise level is completely UNcontrollable!!! I’d suggest installing some sound boards to diffuse or reduce the noise level, PLEASEEEEEE. Seriously, it is almost unbearable even though I understand we were at a bar! I ran into two other ladies in the restroom and they all said the exact same thing!!! One of the ladies actually urged me to mention this on my Unilocal review, which I had planned on doing so anyways. Hopefully the owner would consider doing something about the deafening noise. Other than that, I have no complaints, a fun and hipster place to hang after work.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. As with any downtown lunch spot, it’s extremely crowded and loud between noon-1pm. I was seated promptly at 1 and ordered. BLT– there’s A LOT of bacon, so much that some of it had to be picked out. Chicken sandwich — lots of mushroom and cheese, chicken wasn’t dry Total came to $ 25 not including tip

I’ve found myself here many times after a long night of being out or if I’m trying to get my evening started. This is a great place for either of these options. It’s a really chill atmosphere here, really chill and friendly service from bartenders and waitresses. Their cocktails and beer selection is great. It seems like they change their menu often which is always good. The best thing about this place is definitely their food. POTATOSKINSPOTATOSKINSPOTATOSKINS. Did I say potato skins? These things are the perfect late night snack. It’s nice and hearty and will bring some life into you. The pork is flavorful and the white sauce is yummy and the egg just tops it off. This place also has other food options here but be sure to try the potato skins. This place is also cool if you just want to watch a sports game since they have two tv’s. A great spot and I highly recommend to come here out of the many bars in the city.

Great atmosphere, great food, great service We never had to wait more than 2 minutes to get a drink at the bar which is unheard of on a Saturday. The food is so good! We ordered the ranch fries, loaded fries, potato skins and fried artichokes and everything was Fuego McFuefue. Even though it was a busy Saturday night after Super Bowl city, our table was always cleared.

Loud. Crowded. Greasy. Perfect for an after work quick bite. Prices are decent and the beers are a plenty. We had the Asian wings, loaded fries, and artichoke hearts. All fried but all yummy. The bartenders also had great attitudes and managed to service everyone even though it was pretty packed. Solid 3.5!

Louie’s Bar is an interesting place that has good food. It’s not your typical«bar food». The entrance is in an alley so it doesn’t get a lot of people walking around, but it gets pretty crowded in here during lunch time. If you’re going with a large group, it’s best to get here before the lunch hour starts. == Food == Medium rare burger with cheese and bacon. The beef was nicely cooked and was still juicy. Beef juicy dripped off the bun with each bite into the burger. Delicious burger overall. == Service == I sat at the bar counter and got good service. Food took a bit of time to come out, but it’s expected of a sit down place. == Overall == It’s a great hidden gem type of place to go grab lunch. They make a great burger. I heard the other menu items are good too.

Best burger in San Francisco. That is a bold claim, not that San Francisco is especially well known for great burgers, but there are a lot of great restaurants, and a lot of them put burgers on the menu. But unless all the dubious friends I have brought here are all sycophants, it has been established that Louie’s does in fact have the best burger in the city. I’ve tried several other things on the menu, and none of them disappoint either. In particular, the fried chicken sandwich is incredibly savory. Usually, however, the opportunity cost of not having the burger is too great to venture into the rest of the menu. If you are ever feeling adventurous, try the burger with everything: avocado, bacon, cheese, and an egg for only $ 19. Personally I’ve never been so bold, but I have heard great things about it. I’d also recommend upgrading to the sweet potato fries, which come with a side of spicy ketchup. Their service is also usually pretty great. Despite their being swamped during lunch and dinner during the weekdays, their waitresses still remember regulars after a few visits. I will continue to search the city for a better burger, but I am doubtful there is one to be found.

Went here with my brother to watch a football game on a Monday night. It is definitely hidden away in the financial district, but it is such a cool bar! We started off with drinks, which oddly enough, they don’t really have a happy hour? But according to locals, the prices of drinks are relatively cheap for a bar in that area. The beers ranged from roughly $ 3-$ 6. I got cidre, and even that was only $ 6. Their special cocktails however were all $ 10(yikes!). I ended up getting their tacos as well and it was really yummy! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area, their beer selection is amazing, the food is yummy and sufficient, and the staff is very friendly.

Tucked away inside the Stevenson alley, Louie’s is a nice off the beaten path location that doesn’t attract a lot of foot traffic. I’ve been her two times already and usually the main floor is usually pretty packed. They have a very good beer selection there from heavy darks to lighter stuff. I usually like to drink good craft beer from lights to darks, pale to smooth. Their food menu is also a step above other places in that they have the shareable items like popcorn, fries, wings, and potato skins(with pork belly and a quail egg? Super good!) but also full on sandwich/burger items as well for someone who wants more of a meal. The music also is pretty good here. Although it’s really loud(not a surprise, it’s a bar) but the type of music was up my alley. They played mostly 80’s/90’s stuff so I heard MC Hammer, TLC, and Run DMC amongst the many old school hits during my brief two hours here. It’s great to find a place that offers decent food with drinks as well as some very cool big screen TV’s on the wall. They look new because the football game that was being aired that night looked amazing! Or maybe that was the booze making it look amazing… either way, I had a good time and I’m going back.

At 10PM we were still hungry and found that Louie’s was walking distance from the hotel and the kitchen was open late. Louie’s is a solid choice as a late night dining option with reasonably priced drinks and good service. Hidden on the dimly lit Stevenson, we found Louie’s and entered to find a long bar on one brick wall, tables along the other brick wall, and an open kitchen in the back. We sat ourselves at a table unsure if there was a cocktail. So I went to the bar to order a beer from the complete list on the chalk board and grab a menu. The bartender was busy muddling an old fashion but still acknowledged me which confirmed that he could multi task and we would receive sufficient service. The menu has plenty of your typical bar food but is kicked up with special ingredients and touches to make it more gourmet. Their signature item is their burger which none of us were in the mood for at the time. I ordered the short rib«French dip» accompanied with a pint of guinness. The braised beef elevated this sandwich above your typical French dip, but I could have done without the arugula. Also ordered were the lamb gyro and the buffalo wings which were both delicious and finished completely. Though I’m not sure the purpose of serving the wing tip, it never gets touched because there’s nothing edible on it. The seasoned fries were fresh and were cooked to order. I wouldn’t classify Louie’s as a dive bar because of the elevated food, atmosphere, and service which would make it definitely worthy of a another visit if I’m in the area again.

Came by Tuesday, June 16th around 5:45pm to watch the Golden State Warriors, Game 6. My friend staked out a standing table by the bar around 4:30pm, so we had our own space to order food and drinks.(Well, as much space as you can have in a super crowded bar.) *Guinness — Dublin, Ire 4.2%($ 6) *Buffalo wings: sriracha buffalo sauce, carrots, celery and ranch($ 10) *Potato skins: crispy pork belly, charred green onions, crema, quail egg($ 10) The potato skins are delicious! Crispy pork belly and a quail egg?! Yes please! The buffalo wings were good too. A friend of mine thought they were too spicy, but I thought they had a nice kick. The slaw on top was also nice and refreshing. It was a sight to see all the fans when the Warriors won the championship. The bartenders even sprayed champagne at the crowd in celebration. Although I appreciated the gesture as I’m a huge warriors fan, don’t wear anything that’s leather or can’t get wet! It took away from my celebration as I wasn’t ready for that.(I know, first world problems.) I’d love to come back and check out Louie’s when it isn’t jam packed. There were other dishes on their menu that looked delicious!
