Just stopped in here cause it was across the street from where I parked and I was in the mood for cheap boba. But I’ve never tasted boba that tasted like it wasn’t «finished.» Ewwww. Thus, you get what you pay for. Lesson learned.

Well students who go to Galileo or Marina should come here. Why? BECAUSE its cheap as hell. 50cent tea egg, 3.25Sushi, 1.50 milk tea with boba, 1.25 rice noodle, soup for 1.50 all so cheap.

I stopped going here but i thought i would still do a review. This lolocup place sells snacks and stuff, not«real» food. When i used to go here. which was a while ago, i would always buy sushi… but i stopped because the lady making it was very«unsanitary» after i gave her my money, she went straight to making the sushi… would it kill her to wash her hands?! everything she sells, you can probably make at home. besides boba tea. like c’mon, ramen noodles for $ 1.25 ? the sushi was alright, it had spam and mayo Lol

Back in middle school, I use to love this place. I came here for curry fish balls and their milk tea. However during these past 2 years I noticed a change. Their fish balls became flavorless and a lot more watery, I’m guessing that they are trying to save some money by drowning it with water than actual curry. I came here just today just simply because I was having a bad day and like most people, I eat my feelings away, lol. I came in, the restaurant is filled with the owner’s daughter and her friends. I ordered, then comes the daughter running to the«kitchen» going, «I want to do it! Let me make it!» My thoughts: «oh shit, this better not taste janky because it’s the daughter(kid) making it…» I came out, sipping the tea and throwing it away after a few sips. That green tea milk tea had a weird taste… I gave it a 3, considering that I use to love this place and that the owner is actually very nice. I feel that her daughter is very rude, as their friends always stare at me whenever I go in, as well as her attitude, she was talking to her friend, rather caring less that I was waiting for my drink to be made, by her. Another plus for their Calbee chips!

I’m always around Chinatown even though I live on the opposite side of the city ha, but when I am in Chinatown, I always go to Lolocup.(Yes, the name is Lolocup not Lollicup). Even though the customer service is really rude, I do not expect much from them because it’s not suppose to be a fancy restaurant or anything, just a simple snack place. I’ve been coming to Lolocup for a couple of years now, so the owner recognizes me. The owner’s daughter is always inside & they would always be loud. When tourists comes inside and while you are waiting to order something, she would go to help them out first(rude, yes, but I don’t mind since I always got time to kill). Other than that, their snacks are always cheap, even though their prices had gone up a little bit over the couple of years, it’s still a great place to go when you’re just wanting some snacks.

I used to come here more often but now I find myself getting the watermelon juice tapioca from Broadway Café(less than $ 2!). Anyway, I wanted something different today so I came back to Bubble House. As usual, I ordered the mango slush with tapioca. I was shocked when they pulled out the mango syrup as they used to make it with fresh mangoes only. They did put in a few pieces of frozen mango as well. Perhaps it’s because it’s not mango season yet? As one can expect, my drink was pretty syrupy and definitely not as good as I remembered it. I guess I’ll just have to wait until mangoes are in season again and hopefully they will leave out the syrup then… =/ Note: Cash only!

We’ve been on a hunt for black sesame dessert lately. Surprisingly, very few places serve them. We know because we have walked into or looked at just about all cafes and other possible places in Chinatown that may serve it. Same reason we walked into this place but somehow the friendly lady behind the counter drew me in to see what else they have to offer. Must admit that passing by in the past, this place does not attract me the least bit… I mean, a semi store with a corner serving drinks/snacks? Anyway, I saw they serve«wuen jai chi» — this is the name for the fake shark fin soup that is very popular in HK for $ 1.25. Seriously, that’s nothing to give it a try. If you don’t know better, it may look like hot and sour soup to you. It was not bad, I only wish it was hotter in temperature because it was just lukewarm. I sprinkled LOTS of white pepper, yeah that’s the way to enjoy this street food… of course, I forgot the other important condiments(red vinegar and sesame oil). The lady reminded me of the vinegar but not the sesame oil. I noticed she was rolling her own noodle crêpe and see that they have it for $ 1.25. I asked if she makes it like the Hong Kong way with the sesame paste and all… she said yes. They are kept in plastic cup and they nuke it for you when you order. She said just put everything in and mix it — start with a little then add whatever you feel is missing. I asked her to do it for me — she said always add soy sauce first(make their own sweet soy sauce), plum sauce(it’s diluted so not as thick and sweet), special sauce(she said it’s specially made by a chef and she doesn’t even know the recipe but it’s the secret sauce that makes this dish tasty), sesame paste sauce(she said can skip if use the special sauce), sriracha if you like it spicy(a little disappointed that they did not use the original orange hot sauce that’s made in HK), lastly sprinkle some sesame on top(if you like). After mixing it all, it was a bit dry so we added a little bit more of soy sauce, plum sauce and sriacha and it tasted really good. BTW, plain noodle crêpe is the only and traditional way for this HK snack. Curry fish balls — 5/$ 1 — how can I turn that down? This was ok, it’s definitely not HK styled. They used the regular white ones and the curry sauce was not flavorful and too watery. The best fish balls that are like those you can find in HK — we have only found them in Vancouver and Toronto and I eat them until I get sick. Last but definitely not least, the tea egg. This is my first time trying this snack. She was saying they make it the traditional way, not the way everyone makes it — there are no star anise and another spice(forgot) — instead it’s strictly tea leaves and chinese herbs. It was piping hot and smelled really good. This was good. The yolk inside was still tender and the egg white was flavorful. For $ 0.50, this is a great snack. This was a great little pick me upper and we shall return.

This is the place I go to if I wanted to portal through to China stores where we sit on little stools snacking on curry fish balls and such. There’s not many stores that can make the cherng fun as well as they do, & for a dollar– that’s a bargain. Most RESTAURANTS don’t even sell cherng fun as nice. I go here usually for the snacks. I have yet to try their drinks, but I will edit once I try it. Their tea eggs are so yummy ! Also, their shark fin soup is very tasty too(& yes it is fake shark fin, but it’s a BUCK~ DUH ?) Another thing that’s great about this place is that there’s always a very friendly lady standing behind the counter smiling at you waiting to take your order. The only thing they need to change is the security system. A bunch of low-lifed middle schoolers or freshmen high schoolers stole a bunch of candy from them today & the lady was SO nice to them too –_– Bastards . Also to JANET Z.: Cherng fun IS rice sheets rolled up. Are you even chinese?

This place is mainly good for students since they sell some drinks to them at around $ 1.50. What a deal! They also have the $ 1 snacks: shark fin soup(most likely fake shark fin, but with some pepper, sesame oil, and vinegar, who gives a shit? it’s delicious), rice rolls, sushi, and curry fish balls. There IS a downside to that student discount though. Every time I’ve been here, there’s a table full of teeny little Marina kids playing cards and listening to crap music from their cell phones. So, get your stuff to go.

Used to love coming here in middle school ! The drinks are good & cheap. but it seems like they use powder instead of fresh ingredients. The cherng fun is really good. I like how the noodles are soft & how they reheat it for you. It’s really really good if you add their sauces to it. They have peanut butter, hot sauce, soy sauce, and hoisin sauce. I usually add all 4. I’m drooling just thinking about it. It’s about $ 1 for a small porportion. $ 1 doesn’t really fill me up but $ 2 always seems to be too much for me. Their curry fish balls are good too. nice & hot. Their sushi is really really good … it’s very unique. They put fried egg, ham, and mayo in it. I know it sounds weird but it’s really yummy.

This place kind of sucks! Their noodles are not even worth $ 1 because it is made from these rice sheets that they roll up! And they cost about 10cents for one? They use frozen waffles also which is kind of disgusting! I would rather just go to Sweethearts or TenRen if I wanted my tapioca.

Thank the heavens up above for lollicup! My favorite is the coconut drink with tapioca. Don’t drink too much though… cause even though it feels like there’s a happy dance going on in your mouth, your stomach may just reject all the happy goodness. Who cares if all the sugar makes me so dizzy that I’m about to fall over… I’m willing to pass out from a sugar crash any day!

This place may look a little shabby, but it is my favorite place to get tapioca milk tea in Chinatown. There are a ton of places you can go to get your boba fix in Chinatown area, but the tapioca balls they put in the drinks here are the best — they always manage to strike the perfect balance between soft and chewy without making the little balls gummy. The tapioca balls are never hard and overly chewy like cheap Quickly’s tapioca tends to be. There are a TON of different drinks and snacks available on the menu, so choosing can be a little intimidating. My absolute favorite drink is the Royal Milk Tea with big tapioca balls — I don’t know what makes the milk tea«royal,» but it is extremely addictive and very, very good. I’ve never seen Royal Milk Tea on the menu at any other tapioca place(and I’ve been to a lot), so definitely give it a try here if you’re unsure of what to get. This is also the first tapioca place I’ve been to that offers SOYMILK in their drinks — at no extra cost too! This is godsend for people like me who have stomachs that react badly to too much dairy, but love their milk tea. Lollicup would get a five star rating from me if they spiffed the place up a bit. I think it’s a little weird how they sell a bunch of random things(like those infamous red-white-blue plastic shopping bags, pots and pans, etc) along with their snacks and drinks, but that won’t stop me from coming back for some awesome Royal Milk Tea with SOYMILK!
