Today me and my friend went in to eat lunch I ordered a chicken salad. I expect the chicken salad to have some vegetables and greens in it, but instead they gave me a potato salad on top of tiny lettuce shreds with tomato slices around it. We sat down and waiting for a whole 10mins until the waitress decides to give us our menu to order. The potato salad they gave me was the worst ever, it was extremely sour and they added a lot of pickles in it. I felt stomachs pain after I consumed a small proportion of the«salad». I wasn’t into the salad so I asked for a takeout box to bring it home for when I am hungry. It took the waiter 7mins to bring the takeout box to our table. I felt so sick, I just threw the takeout box into the garbage can, I didn’t every think about eating it afterwards anymore.

If u want a quick breakfast in the morning at Chinatown, I strongly recommend to try this place. Their price is reasonable and the food is actually not bad. From ordering till they bring the food to your table is around 5 mins. They serve both Chinese and western style breakfast with avg price $ 5.

I don’t usually order short ribs because the tendon is uneatable-hence, smaller portions. Surprisingly, the portion filled me up. Today’s special, Grilled Short Ribs, was so chewy and tender, cooked perfectly at medium well with minimal black tar.

Good food, excellent prices, service is what you would expect at any Asian dining place, misinterpreted body language as rudeness… but I just come for the food and I will be back.

Excellent food, great prices. You’re not here to eat at a 4star dining experience, so get over it. This is a place to get a good and cheap bite and that’s it. I love when people complain that the«staff is rude, but the food is good that’s why I’m giving them a low rating». You’re at a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown for chrissakes, it’s never about the service here white folks.

Not bad for a cheap quick bite. Found this place on Unilocal and got a breakfast sandwich to go. This is a good place, not a great place. If you’re not picky and everything nearby is packed then definitely give it a try.

I’ve been here approximately a hundred times in my lifetime and if I were to do it again I’d still give this place 5 stars! The food is great and very cheap! I usually come here for breakfast when I can. They serve breakfast until 11AM which is the downside because it’s hard to get into this neck of the city that early in the morning. I usually get set C, which is steak with two eggs any style, toast, and complimentary milk tea. I also love their garlic bread which I also order every time. The service is not the best but it is Chinatown and when the food and prices are this great, you kinda forget about the service. Sometimes there is a wait which can be a little unorganized because there is no list, it’s kinda just a first come first serve basis but you have to remember who came before you and who didn’t LOL. Their lunch options are pretty decent and they have daily specials which I do recommend. The portions are pretty big for the price you are paying. It’s too bad they close so early. I believe they don’t stay open passed 2pm. Oh, and this place is cash only so make sure you bring cash!

The food here are ok but the manners of their staffs are terrible. You take just a couple more napkins for takeout and their waitess would scold at you. I’m sure that’s not appropriate so it shall be less tips for them if I should be eating there with my friends.

Food was good and inexpensive, especially compared to the surrounding area. The meal even included coffee!

The standard of what Hong Kong café would be. Their prices are very unbeatable($ 4-$ 8 on average for an entrée) — especially around this neighborhood, where it is in Chinatown, but near Financial District area! Their breakfast dishes, such as pork chop with egg and toast, is the plain olé Jane. Don’t expect the presentation to be fancied up. I like the Hong Kong Milk Tea! Complimentary refills — it was a bit of a hassle to get their attention to get a refill, however. Good spot for the norm of brunch.

Wow! Just look at the prices! You can’t get any cheaper for the quality they give. Only down side is a minimum wait time for the food but with the price, it’s worth the wait! Just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean the quality is cheap. Check it out!

Let me start off by saying the food was fine. standard Cantonese café breakfast food, delivered fast and cheap. or so I thought. The steak and eggs breakfast plate includes a beverage, including«coffee or tea.» Silly me ordered a 50⁄50 coffee tea, and the check came with an extra $ 2 charge because it «wasn’t coffee and wasn’t tea.» Technically, they are not wrong. but seriously, they literally charged me $ 2 to mix my drink. Long story short, I took it out of the tip. they bitched at me for not leaving a tip, I told them to go kick rocks. Narrow Nazi interpretation of their menu choices cost them a customer for life, and I hope after reading this review you choose to not give them a single red penny of your money either.

I love this place, I started coming here when I was maybe around 4 – 5(or from what my parents told me) and that was almost 13 years ago. This place holds a lot of childhood memories, but what I love about this place is really the cheap and affordable food. If you only have $ 5, you’re good to go ! As I grew up, I started coming here less and less and then I completely stopped due to my extremely busy schedule but from time to time I would always come back and reminisce. Great place to take your kids, the taste and service hasn’t changed.

I’ve been here for the past year and it never disappoints. The prices are really cheap for breakfast and lunch. I order a special and it came with hot milk tea, soup, and garlic bread for $ 5.95. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice breakfast or lunch.

I think I got ripped off? I ordered a $ 5.95 bowl of wontons that supposedly came with a milk tea. It tasted alright, nothing spectacular. decent sized. When I went to pay it was $ 8.20? I mean, it’s a dollar… but in the grand scheme of things it adds up. I probably won’t come again. I usually go to Yin Du next door, but I was a little embarrassed that I go in at least once a week so I thought I’d try something new. disappointed that I did.

I’ve been coming to this place for at least 6 or 7 years now, and I’ve seen it change throughout the years. For example, they’ve cleaned and painted up the walls, changed out the chairs, put in some new lighting to make the place brighter, and made the bathrooms at least somewhat more attractive. But that stuff is just fluff; neither the food nor the service have changed, and that’s for the better. This is very much a HK style café, offering nice and cheap breakfast specials which I unfortunately have never tried(live too far away to make it that early). Their regular meals are cheap enough as they are. They usually offer three specials a day on their whiteboards, ranging from baked pork chop to fish fillets to short ribs. Those are slightly cheaper than the regular menu items, but they all come with a drink, vegetable soup, and a piece of garlic bread. I often opt to pay a little extra to upgrade the drink to a lemon tea, which is very nice, or a milk tea. The soup and garlic bread are great appetizers as well. I’ve tried a ton of items, ranging from the mushroom pork chop to the grilled salmon to the short ribs to the chicken leg fried rice. The food is never amazing or high-class, but for the price and the feels, I personally think it is comfortable and satisfying. Most of the rice dishes come with a small bowl of rice, a few pieces of vegetables, and the meat. All simple but sweet. The mother usually gets a pork chop with noodle soup, and she’s done so for the past 7 years so I assume it’s at least palatable in a familiar way. This is one of the few HK style cafes in Chinatown that have not changed hands or upgraded out of their class(for the worse) in the past n years, and I will keep coming back here as long as it remains that way.

My parents and I come here often for breakfast. It is definitely a hole in the wall and not a place where you would expect 5 star food nor 5 star service. The food is super cheap but pretty good for its price. The trick here(as with any other place in Chinatown, honestly) is to let the waitresses get to know you. For a first timer, they might not pay too much attention to you but once they recognize you as a regular, they will take care of you. The line system is horrible, for example, pretty much just a whole bunch of people standing around near the door, but the staff will help you out if you’re fighting that particularly pushy Asian woman who showed up 10 seconds ago and tries to cut in line. Otherwise, just don’t be afraid to be aggressive and sit down at a table if you know you’re next in line. Stare em down if you have to! That’s the nature of Chinatown for you :)

Hole in the Wall but what an amazing hole in the wall it is. It is your typical café style Chinese food. Breakfast here is cheap. You have a variety of eggs/bacon/ham variations. French toast, ramen, rice noodles, etc. My family typically orders something along the lines of: steak and eggs ramen with beef satay rice noodles Vegetable with rice noodles All dishes will include HK milk tea and noodle dishes will include a slice of bread cut in half. For about $ 5 an order, its hard not to come here whenever I’m in town. For lunch I’ve tried their baked rice/noodle specialties and the food is delicious. It is my favorite place for baked seafood over rice. My siblings enjoy the baked porkchop over rice and the spaghetti bolognese as well. Not all but most lunch items will include soup and garlic bread for you if you dine in. You will miss out on garlic bread if you choose to order out to go. Lunch will be more along the lines of $ 7 a plate. Took a long while to decide why I’m not giving it 5 stars and if I had to choose one thing I guess could be more consistent is the milk tea. It is sweetened with condensed milk and sometimes it is not sweet enough so I add sugar to it. Other times it can be a tad sweet. If I could give 4.5 stars I would. Overall: Food: Delicious Price: Cheap Atmosphere: Nice Service: Friendly, could be more attentive at times but generally overall good. Recommended to all who visit Chinatown
