I wish I could give zero stars. I arrived with friends visiting from out of town and tried to strike up convo with the bartender. He seemed chill, but busy. I continued to get passed up by him serving other customers and also stopping to chat with others blatantly ignoring my friend and I. I looked around and the others he was serving were all white customers. I asked him if I could order a drink. He told us to wait and that sometimes you just have to wait in life. WTF?! This guy has some major issues and suffice to say I’ll never be going back to Lazlo, a once beloved hole in the wall bar of SF, and I advise people of color to be aware of this racist bartender. In the end, tall, slim, white guy with shitty facial hair bartender with slick back ponytail with a dog tag necklace refused to serve my Latina friend and when I asked him what his issue was he just shrugged. We immediately left.

Serve the same menu with foreign cinema without the wait, I had the champagne omelet and it was a bit too salty. A side of the sauteed greens came at the end of the meal. Limited wine selection at Laszlo side but DJs and are cocktails are the same

Bunch of friends and I stopped by around 12 as we wondered the Mission, we didn’t want to walk to far from where we had dinner. It was pretty empty when we walked in. They have some lofted space with a lounge area for more seating which is small but nice. I didn’t actually try the drinks though the bartenders seemed pretty chill. One of them let my friend go behind the bar to learn how to make a drink. Though there probably are some legal concerns with that — they got scolded when by the manager when he walked in and made us stop with the show. Still pretty cool that the bartenders allowed that. Otherwise, don’t have much of an impression since I didn’t get anything.

Went for brunch. 5 stars for serving the same great brunch menu as Foreign Cinema, but the service was painful. The bartenders seemed annoyed with the customers and each other, and they dropped the ball a couple of times. They didn’t put in one of our three orders, but never apologized or made up for it in any way– instead awkwardly bringing out the missing food about 20 minutes after we pointed it out. Then when we finally got their attention again for the bill they brought another tables bill and seemed annoyed once again that we pointed out the error. Probably should’ve just waited an hour for a walk in table at foreign cinema rather than trying to dodge the line and eat here.

Love the eclectic cocktails here. Not your traditional bar with traditional spirits is also what I like.

Went today for brunch, despite the bad reviews because invited there by a friend. The place is ok, extremely loud music makes it not that good for a date if you want to chat. Didn’t try cocktails, wine was ok. Amazing note for their bacon. A Croque Madame, bacon aside, Scrambled Eggs and four glasses of wine for 75 dollars. Our waiter was kind but others quite rude.

PROS: They serve the same menu as Foreign Cinema. Same food, no wait(none between noon and 2pm on a Sunday). Free donuts up front. CONS: They pretty much cancel out not having a wait by having terribly slow service. They’re set up to be a bar and don’t seem to know how to handle having dining customers. We sat at a table where a big group had just finished brunch, but somehow the bartenders/servers didn’t notice that we weren’t the same people who’d been there earlier. They didn’t clean off the table for 20 – 30 minutes because they thought we’d just finished our meal. Even after finally cleaning off the table(due to some prodding from me), they just didn’t seem to want to serve us food. We waited maybe a total of 1 hour, and by that time Foreign Cinema texted us that a table was open. Even when my boyfriend went up to the bar at one point to order drinks, he was ignored for a good 15 minutes. They weren’t that crowded, but were either understaffed or very uncommunicative as a staff. Here are the drinks we tried: * Pample Pimms(Pimm’s, Giffard Pamplemousse, grapefruit, ginger ale. $ 12) — 3.5 stars Ginger ale was the dominant flavor. This was light and tasty, but I wished the grapefruit flavor was more prominent. * Annapolis(Mt Gay XO, Babtiste, lime juice, grapefruit juice, honey syrup & seltzer. $ 12) Light in flavor and refreshing; I wanted there to be more lime and grapefruit flavors.

Pros: fun ambiance, big pours, good music Cons: slow service(seriously 30 minutes to get a beer and wine), no-personality bartenders

Currently at the bar. There are 7 people in here. No exaggeration: 14 minutes to have our drink order taken and 8 minutes to get it once ordered. How. Is. That. Possible. There was just another couple in here that ended up leaving because it took so long to have their drink order taken and then even longer to have it made. I overheard them saying«he hasn’t even started making our drink yet!» and then walk out.

This was our last stop on a Sunday night.. . I say last b/c the power went out in the mission from here to 18th street. It was pretty random. As the alarms sounded so loudly, everyone was evacuating the bldg. I didn’t know what to do, plus the bartender was just finished making my drink I didn’t want to leave it. The bartender said we could bring our drinks to the patio, WHEW! There were abt 5 – 6 other ppl anyways hanging out in the bar. I’ve NEVER experienced this in all the times I’ve went barhopping in the mission. You can say this will never be forgotten! haha I told the bartender to make me something fruity, he didn’t know what to make. So, I said make me something with tequila. Since they are obviously known for their tequila. We tried two of their signature drinks. I would tell you the name of them but by the chance I could read what it was the whole block had a blackout.

Great concept, good music. I came here last Saturday night for my birthday and I was annoyed at the bartender. I get that it’s busy and crowded, but I do not deserve to get yelled at say: «don’t you ever f*cking touch me», I was disgusted. He simply asked me what kinda of Vodka would I like? I said Ciroc? Goose? he said we don’t have that and asked someone else what can I get you? Luckily the guy next to me said they have specialty vodkas here, and I recommend this. I gently tapped the guy on the shoulder and he FREAKINGYELLED at me?! I said my bad, the guy next to me said I’m sorry he’s a douche let me pay for your drink? I said oh you come here often, and he’s rude like that? He said yes! I am the Patron, so therefore I will come first before any yelling or rudeness. I believe your paycheck comes from the people you serve! The same bartender ignored my friends as well, when they lifted their finger up asking for a drink-response was DON’T POINTYOURFINGERATME! This made me very upset, I hope something is done about it. Please re-train your staff with a class of manners. PS, Bartender was a tall Caucasian, brunette, long hair.

Incredible rude bartender. When I asked for a cocktail menu he just grunted and said they don’t have one when I clearly saw a whole stack on the bar. Then he proceeded to make the most disgusting gin and tonic I have ever tasted. Flat, bitter and gross. How you mess that up I have no idea. I can take attitude if you deliver the goods. Unfortunately for you having a beard and mustache doesn’t make you a good bartender or even remotely cool so drop the act and get yourself to bar tending school. And learn some manners while you are at it. Two thumbs down for Laszlo.

Great drinks but the music was so loud I could not have a conversation. After being there for about an hour, I couldn’t speak for an hour because I had been yelling to talk to someone right next to me. Asked the DJ to turn it down a bit but he didn’t seem to care.

One of the worst bars I’ve ever been to. The venue is pretty cool… Fairly open downstairs with a neat upstairs balcony. The service is, hands down, the worst I’ve ever gotten. One of the bartenders flipped me off when I tried to get his attention(tall, skinny man with a man-bun). I spoke with someone who identified himself as a manager(I highly doubt he was). He told me to apologize to the bartender and assured me that I must have provoked him. He told me not to take things so seriously. I told him I was appalled this is the way they handle business as this is not professional at all, but he just told me it was my fault.

Stopped by this bar right before dinner at Foreign Cinema. It’s located right next door to the restaurant. It’s a small bar with a vintage look with a side wall of old records. Upstairs is more seating and lounge area for when it gets crowded. When we stopped by it was only a few people in the bar, but then again, I would assume it only gets packed at night. We ordered 2 drinks each Southside Rickey — gin, lemon, lime, sugar and soda, this was what I ordered and it has a very strong lemon/lime taste to it. You could barely taste the gin, but after 1 drink, you can tell that there was quite a bit of alcohol in this drink. Slumdog millionaire — gin, curry leaves, pineapple gum, yellow chartreuse and lime. This is what my husband ordered and I had a sip of it. It has a strong flavor from the curry leaves, which made it unique. He enjoyed it a lot. I’m glad that there was a bar right next door for us to hang out while we waited for dinner. I was even more glad that they had some specialty drinks that we were able to try.

This place is a perfect example of the Cancer that is consuming the Mission. I’ve never had worse service at a Bar. Never. None of the bartenders care. They don’t acknowledge you when you come in. They are loud and obnoxious with their friends. Then when I do get a drink the bartender sprays it with his cleaner because he’s twitchy and coked out and can’t tell the direction of the nozzle. I couldn’t get anyone’s attention to change drinks. My boyfriend who met me right after I got my drink waited 20 minutes without being offered a drink. When we finally got our bartender’s attention and asked for the check, still with a sprayed drink and a drinkless guest. The other bartender pretended to know my tab and charged me 12 when it says 11 on the menu. And to top it off my drink was terrible. I would recommend to the owners, clean house. You have some nasty cockroaches serving drinks.

Stopped by here waiting for our reservation at Foreign Cinema. They have unique drinks here and are pretty good from the ones I’ve tried but they don’t really make great classic drinks like an old-fashioned. The bitters they used were not great quality. The bartender we had was not too friendly. The place is not too large and their TVs are quite small/outdated. For the Giants game, they had the game projected onto their wall but because their wall is uneven and not-white, it wasn’t very clear. I guess at least they tried…

Laszlo is an average bar in the Mission district. Maybe the problem is that there are so many good bars around and that make Lazlo look worse than what it is. I go to this bar often when there is not much going on in the area. It’s a small bar and the drinks are not cheap but we have always met interesting people. The drinks are good and they are probably better than the ones offered by other bars and the bartenders are very attentive and always take care of the regulars. Last time we went there the place was packed, it was almost impossible to get a cocktail, we ended up having to go somewhere else.

I was here with some friends after dinner at Foreign Cinema and there were bar seats. The staff didn’t seem comfortable shooting the shit — maybe because they’re usually packed and don’t have to do that — still the cocktails were excellent. I’m a big Manhattan fan so we tried several Bourbons and Ryes made the same way in a nicely made Manhattan. Had a great time in this very dark place. Also make excellent Craft Cocktails for you Crafty types.

DISGUSTINGBARTENDER!!! Dear management, We came here this evening for cocktails and good fun. While at the bar ordering drinks a friend’s friend was ordering a drink and the bartender took a dirty used cup(knowing it was dirty) from the counter and poured the drink in it. When she called out the bartender of his nasty pour habits, he took that cup and poured it in another cup. WHODOESTHAT? He’s the bartender chunkier bartender with greasy hair kind of covering his eyes(NOTTHEONE with long hair wrapped in a bun). 1) that’s gross 2) who does that 3) his behavior is a reflection of the establishment 4) don’t make me report this elsewhere 5) don’t treat paying customers like trash I like this place a lot. But seeing that really made me think otherwise. All I kept thinking was… «Damn we all could be drinking other peoples backwash»… «If I wake up with herpies, I’ll know it came from Laszlos»

Laszlo was not for me. We walked in for a drink only because of its proximity to Foreign Cinema, where we planned to have dinner. My man and I were saddled down with two large pieces of luggage plus some other bags, otherwise I would have suggested we move somewhere a bit more welcoming. To be clear, the bartender was nice and the music great but the crowd was a bit rough. And the whole bar reeked of the cigarette smoke that wafted in from the patrons who stepped outside. I can enjoy a dive now and then but Laszlo just didn’t work for me.
