DONOTGOHEREIFYOUDONTWANTTOGETSICK. These people need to be retrained on food safety. First of all, none of the employees were wearing hair nets. I ordered a sandwich and the guy behind the counter making my sandwich sneezed, touched his nose and continued to make my sandwich. I ordered a drink and the cashier reached into the ice chest and made my drink. It would’ve been nice if she washed her hands first! Food safety 101, wash your hands after handling money! this place sucks!

The egg salad sandwich was pretty bad. Had to take off the lettuce and thrownit away because it was so wilted and slimy. I was so disappointed. The«Dirty» funky fusion potato chips were awesome, though.

Klein’s Deli was pretty good but unfortunately, like all food available in an airport, it was overpriced. I got the Fillmore and a side miso coleslaw. The fillmore is a pastrami, sauerkraut on rye type of deal. The bread had a good chew and enough structure to stand up against the fillings. The cheese was mild and brought a bit of richness. The pastrami was portioned well and while I wouldn’t say it was generous, it was sufficient. The sauerkraut wasn’t very sour but did help bulk out the sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. The miso coleslaw was very lightly seasoned if at all. I like miso, I cook with miso. And I couldn’t taste any in the salad. It was crisp, cool, lightly sweet. It definitely had a touch of Japanese flavor but I couldn’t tell how. It tasted slightly like the pickling liquid for ginger. It wasn’t salty, nutty, or savory in the way you’d expect. However, I did actually like it a lot. Crisp, refreshing and light. Overall, the food was good, service was fast and efficient. I’m giving it 4 stars because I paid $ 12.60 for a medium size sandwich and pretty small coleslaw. But perhaps that’s just the nature of buying food in an airport.

Eat Kleins for $ 16… or go hungry… eat Kleins for $ 16… or go hungry… eat Kleins for $ 16… or go hungry… Each time I fly Alaska out of this terminal, that’s my debate. It’s a rare occasion that I think Kleins is actually better than being hungry for 4 hours and eating at my destination. It has happened, but, pretty rare. For the price, this place really should be a lot better…

Why do I keep coming back to Kleins? They do such a great job which the design of their sandwiches, but it always tastes kind of blah. I can’t decide which I prefer, the pre-wrapped chicken Thai wraps that United sells in the plane, or these. At least they sell premium coffee and packed salads.

Ah, the woes of airport food… it almost makes me want to pack a lunch for travel(almost). If the quality of airport food is directly relatable to the quality of the city’s dining establishments, then one would think that the SFO airport would have some good offerings, no? Based on the Unilocal reviews, Klein’s Deli was the happening spot, so against my better judgment(a deli in an airport? In San Francisco??), I started a long trek from our gate in search of this so-called Mr. Klein and his sandwiches. None of the offerings were very appareling to me, but the lady behind the counter recommended The Mission. If you are like me and not a huge fan of spicy food, you might want to hold the onions as it is plenty spicy enough without it. I also tried the three-bean salad on the recommendation of a Unilocaler only to find that it was drowning in oil and very bland. I tossed it in the trash after a couple of bites. The sandwich was better, but would have been nothing remarkable were it not for the fact that it was served at an airport. Should there be a sliding scale for airport food?

This place is garbage. I wanted to get the hearty breakfast sandwich on whole grain and she told me that they couldn’t do that, as she’s on the phone. She never made eye contact. I asked if the reason was because the sandwiches were premade and she said no. So I got the healthy breakfast sandwich with whole grain. These two women stood behind the counter and gabbed about who knows what as they MICROWAVED some dehydrated egg patty slab then threw it on some bread. By the time I got to bite into it the bread was soaked through on one side and boiling hot. On top of that it tasted gross. All I wanted was a decent egg sandwich after a long night of flying. Major disappointment at Kleins.

Custom made sandwiches ATANAIRPORT? Surprisingly enough, this little gem was a delightful treat! I had the Haight which is a BLAT(bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) on sourdough. It was excellent. Husband custom made a tasty ham and cheese to his specifications and loved it. Food was fresh, prepared quickly, and staff was friendly… at the AIRPORT! It was crazy but next time I’m in SFO, I’ll head there without a second thought!

Terminal 1 has the worst food in the SF Airport — I stopped at all of the«food»(if you can call it that) establishments and contemplated just starving myself on the flight and waiting until I landed at midnight to eat. Luckily, Klein’s Deli was the saving grace in the corner of the terminal, and well worth the walk to grab something edible. I ended up grabbing a salad, but the sandwiches looked tasty and decently sized for $ 9. They had 3 types of salad: Mixed Greens, Cobb Salad and Greek Salad. The Mixed Greens was very basic — tomatoes, cucumbers, shredded carrots and greens for $ 7.50. I was happy that the salad was pretty fresh(i.e. no lettuce at the bottom sitting in its wilted juices), didn’t break the bank, and tasted good. Not the best airport salad I’ve ever had in my life, but certainly not the worst. With my «airport food goggles» and with all the other alternatives, this place was a winner. I’d definitely come back here if I’m stuck in Terminal 1 — I’ve eaten at half the other subpar places and this is definitely the best option of them all. Looking forward to trying a sandwich next time.

Food: 4 Décor: 3 Service: 3 This is my go-to lunch place whenever I fly out of SFO Terminal 1. 1. The Mission, 9 Roast turkey, pepper jack, avocado, red onion, lettuce, tomato, Klein’s special sauce on ciabatta ~Really good. Simple sandwich, but quality ingredients. 2. The Potrero Hill, 9 Chicken salad with mango chutney, almonds, raisins, curry, lettuce, tomato, mayo on whole wheat ~Pretty good. The curry chicken salad is interesting, but the combination with the other ingredients was pretty good. Service is reasonably fast, despite the long lines sometimes.

Very friendly staff who was helpful in picking out a sandwich and happy to exchange ham for turkey. I kept passing other places, not wanting to spend $ 10 or more for a simple cold sandwich. I got the North Beach sandwich for $ 8.75. It was a big sandwich with fresh bread and ingredients. Chips were extra. Nice job.

You know an airport restaurant is good when you find yourself wishing they had one outside the airport. That one review was right — if this was on the corner next to your office, you’d go all the time. I had the Portrero hill — an Indian-inspired chicken salad sandwich with mango chutney, tomato, lettuce, mayo, almonds and raisins. A curry-flavored chicken salad might not sound like a good idea, but it is amazingly well-executed. Don’t let the size fool you, it’s a solid sandwich filled to the brim. Good thing they give you extra napkins! They wrap the sandwich well in two layers of paper — perfect for taking on your flight — and they fill the orders quickly — my sandwich was done before I finished paying! Obviously you’ll pay airport prices(my sandwich was $ 10), but given that you’d pay that to eat anywhere at the airport, you might as well board your plane with a smile on your face and some mayo on your chin! Treat yourself. It’s that good.

Better fare than expected for an airport eatery. North Beach: salami, ham, pepperchinis, L&T with special sauce. Switched to ciabatta because they were out of French rolls. It was good. Much better than expected. I’ve picked up their pre-made samies a few times and they’re not up to snuff. Plan to stand in line and go with a fresh, made to order. The down side is the crazy line at this location wedged next to the jetway line of gate 36. It can be difficult to wait for an order with rollies nipping at your heels but better than anything you’re going to get on an EMB120 or a CRJ. Klein’s just might surprise you. It did me.

Way better than many of the other(limited) airport options. Fast service, fresh produce, and less inflated prices than the other places in the airport. The guy making my sandwich initially made it with mayo despite my no-mayo request, but caught the error without me having to point it out. My Haight sandwich came with a TON of bacon, but the bread was barely toasted. Limited selections, but decent. I wish they gave you a pickle on the side like a real deli.

I had an early flight last week and had to take a shuttle to a different terminal, where Klein’s Deli was the only option for food. I know I should have just gotten something in Terminal 3 where there were a TON of choices, but I didn’t. I would have liked to have an egg sandwich for breakfast, but they didn’t have egg whites :(So I settled for a sandwich called the Marina– feta, hummus, tomates, etc. It was pretty good and really big, but I was in the mood for breakfast food! Would I come back? If I ever have to this nasty terminal again, then maybe.

This review is for breakfast only. The early-morning employee was funny and sweet, and offered up hot sauce and ketchup for our egg sandwiches and a smile with our coffees. I’d be more likely to go back there versus the other shop due to her refreshing attitude. Our food was only okay; however, we paid $ 4 less there than in the other food shops for two bagel sandwiches, which more than made up for it(and paid for our coffees). It’s airport food, no real surprises there.

For what seems to be the only food selection in this crappy terminal, Klein’s was a pleasant surprise. I had The Haight – essentially a BLT with avocado and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked bacon and toasted sourdough. I wish every airport food experience could be this delicious.

Deli sandwiches here are freshly made to order and are a nice alternative to the typical fast food or bar food that you always find at the airport.

My go to breakfast place for my flight back to Las Vegas everytime. They can make a soy chai latte and the bagel specials are at a reasonable price compared to the other places. Also because it’s tucked away in a low traffic area in the Us Airways area, there usually is no wait, which is nice.
