It was obvious from the moment we walked in that the waitress could not have cared less about us as customers. She bluntly and deliberately ignored us, just dropping plates at the table, never even trying to match food with who ordered it. While the food, on the whole, was good, my goat saab(#121) was FILLED with bone shrapnel. It was impossible to eat a forkfull without having to spit out most of it. I’d normally have said something, but the attitude of the waitress was so standoffish, it was clear it would have been a waste of time. I’ve never seen a waitress so completely disinterested. Reasonable food, reasonable prices… miserable, miserable service… deceptive pricing. The menu forewarns you that they automatically add 18% as tip, but that turned out to be 20%, after which they apply tax(!), and then expect you to give a further tip.

Please do not visit this place. Not at all worth for Indian food. Worst place for Indian food.

Well, where do I begin? Was in SF over the weekend with a bunch of friends and were told this would be a great place for Indian food, plus they had alcohol. They were right, my initial feeling was that I wanted to review this place based only on the food, however I also find customer service to be a big part of any establishment and think they should take pride in all areas of their business. So if it were only on food this place would easily get 4 stars(maybe even leaning on 5). Unfortunately the customer service here was just terrible, maybe some of the worst I have had. The young lady that took our order didnt have any suggestions when we asked what were their most popular dishes, we got served water one time and never checked up on again, we got about 6 huge tubs of rice which we would not have ordered had the girl told us it was tubs and not just small side of rice. Our check was broken up by each person except one which had all the drinks and appetizers, have no idea who they decide which check to add all of them too but it created a mess when paying. Normally we easily write down exactly what we ate, break up tax and tip and done. This time it took way longer because of them doing the checks that way. Another thing, never been a fan of a place that adds their own gratuity even for big parties because it just makes it seem that since they knew they were going to get a large tip they had no reason to take care of us anymore. I was going to give them only one star however i will give them one more because the food was really good and tasty. Unfortunately I will not be going back to this place ever and will not recommend it to my friends.

My favorite Indian food in the city! Sounds like an odd pairing: Irish pub and Indian restaurant. However, they really have an awesome spot and vibe.

The Indian is obviously made for white people. Lacking in all spices, super creamy if that’s what you’re into. Bummed. Also not a fan of frozen vegetables, freezer burn isn’t a good flavor.

Before catching a late night comedy show at Cobb’s, my friend convinced me to eat dinner here. I’m always down for interesting food and great company! It was the most bizarre place in North Beach. I’ve never walked inside before, a lively Irish Pub connected to an Indian restaurant. I do recall their mouthwatering samosas, and they were big! Whatever else she ordered I happily tasted, and all the dishes were palate-pleasing. Service was friendly. I’m still baffled by the layout, never would I have stumbled upon such a place. It was her great idea to stuff our bellies before a comedy show. With a plethora of eateries nearby and delicious Italian food in this neighborhood, I would probably not come back for samosas anytime soon. =)

Love this place. Great combination of solid Indian food and craft beers in North Beach. There must be 20+ beers on draft and countless bottles. Protip — check to see if they are having a Groupon special. The Groupon can be something like 10 dollars for 25 dollars worth of food.

The Indian food is mediocre, canned vegetables and naan does not seem authentic. Bartender wouldn’t provide water, I was directed to the service station across the room to get myself a glass. The TVs are HD but one is not for some reason. Overall the place is dirty. Will not be back.

I have been to this place before with my co-workers a couple of weeks ago and the food we had was just ok. Since this place is close to my work, I thought of trying this place again today for lunch. Bad decision! I had stomach cramps after eating there and I’m feeling sick. I ordered a vegan meal and I specified to the guy who took my order that I would like tandoori roti in my meal. But the guy brought me naan and curry which had cheese in it. Also it was written in the menu that the vegan meal has long grain basmati rice. But I was served a cup of plain rice. I will never ever go to this place again. I would not even give one star to this place.

Come here on a raining Friday night around 7pm. We order about 2 main dish, 2 dessert, 1 mango drink, 1 bread, and 1 appetizer. See pictures~ It was a lot for 2 people(me and my boyfriend), we couldn’t finish the food. The service was pretty good so I give 20% tip and the total come out about $ 55 with the groupon I brought. I would say it was a pretty good deal. Food was really good!

Unfortunate experience! Purchased a groupon coupon. Showed them the voucher at the end of the meal. The waiter got me an updated bill with the groupon discount. But when I checked my bank statement, I was charged the full meal amount. Ended up spending $ 50 in whole for one meal! The staff didn’t really commit themselves in resolving the issue either. Food was fair. Little on the expensive side.

It had been a while since I came here. The last couple of times I’ve been my experiences were not very good, but that had been some time ago and a friend convinced me to give them another try. Once again, I find myself wondering why I went there and thinking I won’t be back any time soon. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was not very busy. That would make you think that service would be good, but that would make you very wrong. The service was both slow and rude. The wait staff clearly don’t want to be there and don’t care if you do either. It took 45 minutes for our, at that point cold, curry and rice to come out. One it did, I would say that but for the temperature, the food was mediocre. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. But this was definitely on the more expensive side. Bottom line, there are many other places in the city to get better Indian food, at a better price with better service.

some may ask, what came first: the chicken or the egg… in the case of Kennedy’s, what came first, the bar or the Indian restaurant? A bit confusing walking in, to the right is a cool dive bar, to the left is a standard looking Indian restaurant, white tablecloths, perfectly set tables. Almost as if there was once a wall in-between the two establishments and they decided to merge. Whatever the case, this place is great. THEBEERS, GIMMEALLTHEBEERS! The first time I came here I expected the standard Anchor Steam, Blue Moon, Bud Light on draft. Oh no, Kennedy’s has one of the best selections I’ve seen in town, a great variety of IPAs, Pale Ales, Pilsners, etc. The bartender is always friendly, quick, and knowledgable. The Indian food is great. SOMANY options and all labeled VEGAN for difficult kids like myself(thank you!). The portions are huge, totally enough for two meals and perfectly balanced flavor(just enough heat, not too much spice). The crowd here is typically pretty varied, somewhere between hipsters, college aged girls, and young professionals. A couple pool tables in the back and plenty of TVs to watch a game and hang out with friends. Would recommend this place to any beer loving person looking for something to eat outside of the traditional bar food.

Asonishingly overpriced. I understand rent is expensive here in the city but if you need to charge $ 13.95 for a cold Tikka Massala(and extra $ 3 for rice), maybe you should find another place to do business. If you’re rich, come spend. If not; go elsewhere.

i’m only reviewing this place for the quality of its naan and its indian food. I can’t care less that it is a bar, or that is located in the Italian section of the city, or that the place looks like a run down restaurant. The fact of the matter is that if you want kick-$#% Indian food, this is your place.

Love, love, love this place. Fantastic selection of beer on tap. Happy hour is half price! But the real reason for going here is the awesome Indian food! Huge menu, so many different dishes, reasonably priced, large portions, and great taste. This is the best Indian I’ve had outside England and Ireland(I confess, I haven’t yet been to India). The décor here is eclectic … But it works. There’s video games, air hockey, pool tables, a nice pub, and the large restaurant. If you like Indian food you won’t be disappointed. And they have a private parking lot in back of the restaurant!

Pretty chill neighborhood bar Came here to watch the fooseball tournament on a weekday night. The place was packed! And seem to be very well run. There was a hostess running a «trivia night» game – she had a lot of material, and seemed very professional Inside the bar, you’ll also find a curry house, which serves pretty amazing curry. The hot naan and rice is perfect comfort food after a night of beer and fooseball Apparently the SF foosebal community hangs out here a lot – they have 5+ fooseball tables, and a lot of them are pros who bring their own tape. Some of them are professional fooseballers I think Overall, a cool place to chill out and get some nice curry

I just found half a cockroach in my takeout. Which was a paneer dosa – it was in the sambar. See pic. :(:/ :(:/ Wish I saw the health code violations before ordering.
