Time: 8:21pm/63°F clear Purpose: Having a drink at Kennedy’s hanging out. Walk outside in search for Über getting a ride back home. As I waited bright light emitting on sidewalk making it wet looking. Got curious. Set-up: Small irregular shape liquor store located on the outskirts of North Beach, but in Russian Hill. Rosy’s from the outside looking in one would know immediately what type of business it is. Feels lively well lit with a shelf fill with bag chips, indoor ATM, island snack shelves. Surrounding the place are bottles of wine and miscellaneous personal items. Counter area with boxes of cigarettes and hard liquor all lock up behind plexiglass. The shape of place doesn’t stand out as other liquor places. Something is definitely missing from here. Staff: Older Indian lady was not too engaging. Seems like she’ll talk when your holding a bottle $ 40 wine. Any other purchase straight face with no thank you. Locals comes in, chat it up with her. That’s when I realized you’ve to know her or someone that she knows in able to fit in. As long as I get equal treatment, I’m cool. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean bright place. Nothing that suggest something was wrong. ATM machine had some hello sticker with graffiti written then plaster on. Well stock shop. Eats/Drinks: Oatmeal raisin walnut Clifbar $ 1.39 just wanted to absorb beer in stomach didn’t eat as much as I should during dinner time. Products/Services: Hard liquor/beer, cigarettes, chips, snacks, personal grooming/hygiene, e-cigarette kits/supplies, soda, juice, bottle water, ATM. Punch Lines: Easy parking, in/out within minutes, not engaging, shows favoritism, prices are about 25−30% higher, not much bites, zippy service, Columbus ave, Bimbos, cable car stop, fisherman wharf, nearby cafes/restaurant/hotels. Tradeoffs: Most mediocre wines are price higher than if you were to buy semi premium bottle. Money not well spent. Final Thoughts: Most liquor shops gets a bad wrap, but this place seems to fit in neighborhood. There are no panhandling or loitering out front compared other parts of the city. People with last minute notices or BYOW just pay corkage would benefit from this place. Nothing too fancy or underwhelming just enough to get you throw the situation at the time being.
