Owner seems to be very sour about life, not a very positive person. Angry, aggressive, insulting in a racist way towards our diverse party of about 20 people. just a bad experience.

Not to be rude but those two black american guys who work as a bouncer are being rude and ruin every time we go there, me and my friends are transgender people and every time guys tried to hangout and dance with us the thomas guys always grab them and whisper something in their ear then after seconds guys would avoid us and feel disgusted of whatever that guys told them. Why would he do that to a guess we are there to babe fun and enjoy cause we like the place so much even the guys who watch the door know us already but it’s always those two people ruin the party for us! They have to stop discriminating and deal with there own business! Management wake up and protect your guess! Thank you! So disappointing for a place that we love and for those people who treat us like that!!! And when i came up asked him they both laugh at me like as of i don’t exist and whisper to each other then totally ignore me. And when i asked those bartenders they won’t even tell me there names and keep asking me what’s wrong. like we appreciate if were proctecting people and not ruining someone elses night!!!

Came here for a birthday party. Spent majority of the time upstairs by the bar(more space, air, seating). This place is two stories. The downstairs is a dance floor, but the dance floor is small and not popping. There is no DJ. The speakers are just blasting a playlist of the weirdest mix of songs. You’ll hear«Drop it Like it’s Hot» from 0:00… enjoy it for the first 30 seconds… get tired of clicking your tongue along with the music to the very last second… realize the value of a DJ… question why you’re spending your night in a lame basement… stare at the 5th drink in your hand and wonder how you became such an alcoholic… glance at the couples dancing around you and try to figure out what about you is the reason why guys won’t commit… start asking yourself what you’re doing with your life during the silent pause in between songs… spiral downwards into a deep, depressing pit… hear something random like«Mr. Brightside» play next… chug your drink to numb the pain you’ve been trying to suppress… put on a façade of happiness… sing along… and continue going through the motions of life. Or maybe that’s just me. Girls bathroom was also flooding. If you’re calling an über/lyft, I suggest you walk a block away from the confusing intersection that this bar is next to.

They need a coat check. My pea coat and my friends coats were all stolen on New Years. There was absolutely no place to put coats on a very busy and cold night. Other than that it’s a cool bar.

Such a memorable time here with friends. We came during Santacon, was our first, second for one of the friends. Since it was full upstairs, the bouncer directed us downstairs. It was crowded, hot, but the music was great! We danced until we couldn’t anymore. Even though the bar was busy, the bartenders handled it well and the wait didn’t seem long for drinks. There was also no cover, which was a plus.

This place serves delicious food, where you can also catch a live sports game. The food is relatively healthy compared to the other restaurants in the surrounding area. They serve really good salad here. If you’re looking for a salad under $ 10, then go for the Caesar Salad. If you’re going for the best salad, go for the Steak Salad. If you are there at the right time, you can also make special requests as to which sports game you want to watch. They obviously have a great selection of draft beer.

This was the only bar open at 4 pm the day after Thanksgiving. We wanted to have a couple drinks before heading to dinner and went to different places that were all conveniently closed. When we arrived to this bar, they had just opened and only had a handful of other patrons. Inside, the bar is all dark wood and dim lighting. They already had Christmas decorations up(unless it always looks like that…). My biggest complaint is that the bathroom is downstairs. Truly, I do not like bathrooms at restaurants and bars that are in the bowels of the building(too many like them in Washington DC) so making the seeming long trek freaked me out a bit especially after a couple of drinks. The day before I watched a YouTube video of someone playing The Silent Hill(I think that’s the name) jump scare game and… I KIDYOUNOT… the hallway to the bathroom looked like the freaky game! Anyway, bathroom was clean so it was all good. Service and drinks were fine. The bartender was a cute little lady that jumped up onto the bar to grab bottles high on the shelves. One minor complaint was they only carried ginger beer and not ginger ale, so our drinks tasted different. Took some getting used to.

My friend saw a bouncer remove a passed out girl from the bathroom. My friends and I found her about an hour later in a ball on the street behind trash cans barely responsive. It is horrifying that Kells staff would choose to leave a girl passed out on the street rather than call her a cab, or get her needed medical attention.

Did a couple family birthdays at Kells and it was awesome. I reserved a table for about 8 – 9. The staff were super awesome, they were on top of everything. The food was amazing! Who new pickled mash was delicious?!(Mashed potatoes & pickles). Both family members got free t-shirts from Kells for it being their birthday. We ordered drinks and dessert, and both were yummy! The pub seemed pretty busy, and the restaurant was defiantly busy, and I was thankful that we reserved a table earlier on Unilocal.Would come back anytime! The pub and restaurant are separate rooms conjoining. They even have a cigar bar, however we did not venture into it.

This place sucks. First time here and they didn’t let me go in because apparently I was here two weeks ago and I was drunk. Worst security ever. Don’t come ever!

This is my second time here. The first time they played really good music. However this time it wasn’t as good. The music selection was interesting. They didn’t have a Dj and played music through the bartenders iPhone. After every song there was a short pause. This bar reminds me of a huge college frat house party. I will probably give it another try next time.

Good place to drink and talk to people on a Saturday night, very cool and friendly people. Hip hop music playing, reasonably price drinks. Only cons is the place get so packed and its hard to find parking.

Any pub is really two places: the nighttime place and the daytime place. I’m reviewing the daytime place because I’m old and there isn’t a chance in hell I’d be here after dark, especially after reading these reviews! Ha. :) We stopped here because the location was convenient to our precious, precious parking space. We both had a pint of Guinness and I had the fish and chips; hubby had the steak. Everything was great. The soda bread was lovely, the fish was crispy and fresh, the tartar sauce was homemade, the vinegar was excellent, and the Guinness was Guinness. We sat by the window and had a lovely view. The service was good. Except. I know this is picky, and the vast majority of people don’t care, BUT: the potato products that I got with my excellent fish were not«chips.» they were French fires. As fries go, they were acceptable. But clearly from a frozen bag of shoestring fries. Chips are cut much bigger, and are soft. Almost soggy. Well, in GB they’re soggy. But I can accept less soggy here in the US. A minor quibble, and in fairness, it’s really rare to find real chips with fish because Americans don’t like their fries that way. But as a heads up to others, let’s say, don’t expect real chips. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong here for lunch, so far as I can see with one visit.

We came in to the restaurant and one of the waitresses told us to sit anywhere. There was only one other person besides us sitting in the restaurant. I enjoyed the toasted Brie, crackers, and fruit. It was delicious and the waitress was very friendly. The bathroom is downstairs in this creepy stone-wall area that leads into the bar in the basement, which was not open when we were there. This was an awesome restaurant for any occasion, whether it be a quick snack or a more substantial meal.

Stopped in for a midweek lunch at 11:30 and enjoyed my pints and sausage roll appetizer(as a light meal). The barkeep was a very friendly lad from County Sligo with whom I really enjoyed talking. The atmosphere was slightly more authentic than most Irish pubs, and I appreciated keeping the TV volume muted so I could enjoy the campy Irish tunes!

I came here last weekend around 11:30pm and it was packed. Cover charge for men is $ 5 ladies are free. They have 2 bars one upstairs right when you walk in and downstairs where there is another dance floor with different music. The only think I liked was the music playing from both upstairs and downstairs. Drinks were a little watered down and it was so tight in there that your drink would spill all over you as your walking through the crowds. OMG the women’s restroom was GROSS! 4 stalls and only 1 stall had toilet paper and toilet seat covers. Right when I walked in the floor was flooded, not even sure if it was urine or water. Both sinks were flooded and over flowing. It was just a mess in there! I had to go so bad so I went real quick and ran out of there. I will probably never come back here!

Went here over the weekend with girlfriends. LOVE this place. Go downstairs where the music is– upstairs is just a bar area. My friends and I closed down the place. The drinks are a little more on the expensive side for a bar, but the dancing and space makes it so awesome. The toilets never have toilet paper so bring your own! Good music.

Used to come here all the time before the revamp a few years back. Most of the reviews are right, lots of casual dancing fun. Fri and sat nights are mostly a younger crowd. And i probably would continue to go on weekend nights if i was still 21 – 25. I went here the other day for happy hour and there was nothing to complain about. Clean and friendly service. I didnt order food but other tables did and it looked and smelled good. All in all its a solid irish pub. Id come again during the days or happy hour.

«Alright, let’s go hit the D-Floor,» Jeremy P. boomed as we slipped past the droves of tall, douchey young men at the front of the bar. «Never say D-Floor again, Jeremy,» I complained, rolling my eyes. We got our Coronas and two shots of Jameson on the house for my birthday and moseyed over to the nearly empty dance floor area. Word to the wise: always a good plan to get a bottled beer at Kell’s as people *will* bump you and spill your drink. Also mixed drinks are iffy and I, as a person who never sends drinks back, actually have sent one back at Kell’s. My G&T tasted like flat bitter water. Our other friends showed up shortly after and we switched between up and downstairs, enjoying different genres of music on each level. Kell’s is somewhat of a go-to spot it seems, I saw people from my high school and old co-workers. At one point some tables upstairs were put together and a group of woo-girls got up and started dancing on them, not cute. Even my friend went up to dance(and attempted to pull me up to, but I protested too much). Plenty of guys tried to get up there too but were quickly scolded by the bouncers who all deserve a medal for the amount of shenanigans they have to put up with. Fun times were had all around, but Kell’s is pretty much always fun if you’re in the right mood and with the right people. ‘Nuff said.
