I wanted this place to be great. But… it lacks something. I don’t know maybe someone who is experienced in the kitchen. The service was friendly but food sucked. No flavor. No originality. This place used to be a sandwich shop but failed and then re-opened as a chinese dive. I am sorry to say that this one will fail too. Shame. Hope the owners still have their day job.

I am torn. Should I give them two stars or three. Three was selected because they are new to the area and I want to support them. I got an advertisement at my door, and having tossed it in the garbage, I had not idea where they were located. I walked a bit in circles until I found them. The place is spotless. The staff is warm and delightful. They made me feel special as soon as I walked in. They explained options that I had, and I decided the scoop and go was best for me. I had the orange chicken, and curry chicken. My side item was noodles. They tossed in white rice for me to try. The orange chicken was extremely orange. After several pieces, I was overwhelmed with the orange flavor(and I love orange). The curry chicken was curry(with no taste) and very overcooked potatoes. I had to hunt in order to find the chicken. The white rice was ok, and the oriental noodles(spaghetti) needed more flavor, as they were pretty tasteless. Now I know that I have come down on this restaurant(actually — the food). With that said — they are new, local and nice — which means that I will let this slide and give them a few more chances. After all, it takes time to get things right.

Came across JT’s Café during lunch time and was in a rush but needed some food. Everything on the menu was very reasonably priced and service was friendly and speedy. I was in and out of there within 5 – 10 mins. The place was nice n clean, made me feel comfortable eating the food. Good quick and economical place to go in the area.

Very Nice neighborhood café. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. If you get a chance, try the Carrot and Apple soup.

Since it opened, I’ve come often for breakfast, and they will know who I am and that I wrote this. Signed up for Unilocal to give them a shout. Its a nice comfortable space on the shady side of the street. They make great waffles, french toast with eggs. And they do traditional hash browns which is a huge plus! They brew great coffee. So far lunch has been good as well. But i’m a bigger fan of the breakfast! Any place in this city that serves decent breakfast is usually mobbed(hello, Toast) so I am glad to have found them before they get written up and the masses swarm in. On the other hand I want them to stay in business so check ‘em out! They are really nice people and aim to please!

I’ve eaten here a couple of times. First time I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, and the second time I had Stephanie’s sweet and spicy wings with some garlic fries. Overall the food’s good. Good enough for me to come back and try other things on the menu. Like other reviewers have mentioned, however, it does take awhile for the food to hit your table. Good food needs time of course, so I suggest phoning in your order and picking it up. JT and his staff are pretty friendly, and the place is nice and clean.

This place is still ironing out it’s kinks. I live in the neighborhood and witnessed an empty house transform into a clean modern diner. My roommate and I decided to try this place out instead of AK Subs. It took probably 15min to get a turkey avocado sandwich and a Vietnamese sub. I got to meet the owner JT who is really warm and welcoming. We got our food to go, and my roommate was upset because they tomatoed his sandwich even though he said no more than once. My sandwich was so weird because they super mayo-ed a vietnamese sandwich. Weird. Might be because the sandwich man(apparently from Ike’s) is sick this week. Who know’s? I will come back and check out their burgers, since I’m still boycotting Brainwash. Bring it on.
