Been going here for years always been good until today. It was the wife’s birthday. Her and my lobster tasted old mushy probably frozen too long. Potato wasn’t done. Not coming back.

First time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant. The place wasn’t busy at all. Maybe they are really understaffed. We were seated immediately, but no one came to take an order for drinks or anything. And after 15 minutes of looking at the dirty menus and out the filthy Windows and kicking dirty napkins and food particles under our table, we made the choice to leave. And go to tarantinos across the street. You get what you pay for.

This place could use some attention in the cleaning department. The view is awesome. Prices are ok. Our server was attentive. But our food was slow to come out. The portions were pretty good size. For the money it was good. They just need a lot of help in the cleaning department. Also the speed of service needs to be better. We were surprised that kids eat free today. So that was a win.

Ate late dinner at the bar. The place was dirty! Floors were sticky. When I went to use the restroom to wash my hands, I noticed the restroom was super filthy. Probably good spot for tourist and not locals.

Ate here during our stay for memorial day weekend and have never been so motivated to write a review. This place was disgusting, like it had never been cleaned. The food was sub-par. The bathroom was gross and full of graffiti — and it smells — even at the front door. Will never be back. If you visit fisherman’s warf, don’t come here. Spend a little extra to go to a restaurant at the pier.

Such bad service here! Our server was giving us so much attitude when she was taking me & my bf’s order, but we were speaking so kindly to her. Then the table next to us, she was being so nice to them. Explaining the whole entire menu to them and basically rushed us to order. It’s not even busy, yet they act like they can’t even handle a few tables! Not to mention, when we got our food, my bf kindly asked another waiter if we could get Tabasco, he rudely replied, «I’m not your server» and walked away. When we finally received the Tabasco after 20 mins, they toss it on our table, wth! They didn’t even bother checking on us once, NOTEVENONCE but want to check on the tables next to us. Most definitely will not be back here!

Have been to San Francisco several times but never to Joe’s Crab Shack… We wanted some really good crab and that is exactly what we got. We came in on a Sunday afternoon to watch the Golden State Warriors game so we just sat at the bar for our meal. All the bartenders were wonderful especially Jen who was actually just in training. She was very friendly and made our meal even more pleasant. The Dungeness crab was excellent and the crab dip was amazing… will definitely be back again next time I’m in San Francisco which is in about 2 weeks… Looking forward to having more good crab and great service!

I fell into the all you can eat Wednesday trap, we went there and waited for 10 minutes just to get our table cleaned, I ordered all you can eat crab, I gott literally 6 legs, corn and potato, which has no flavor or seasoning, I asked for a refill and waited for another 10 minutes to get another 4 single legs. I spent 2 hours in this place, just to get 4 refills(which is 4to6 legs) My wife ordered the steam pot with no flavor or taste. Even though the service was slow, the servers were very friendly and helpful, and I think service is the only good thing in this place. After visiting that place, I really appreciate broiling crab. Broiling crab in a bom.

Good music, awesome crab and great customer service!!! This is our first time ever in San Francisco and on our first night we had an amazing dinner! Seafood plates are very creative and tasteful… Lucas, our server, was lovely! And it was his first night at the job as well. One of the plates came a little bit later than the rest of the food, but they quickly made it up with some crunchy salty fries on the house. Definitely a place to recommend at the Fisherman’s Wharf :)

My crab cake tasted cold and like shit. My fries tasted like they were leftovers from someone else’s plate. They brought my drink to the wrong table. I gave them 5 stars. Why? Because Joe’s Crab Shack can fire shitty cooks, but they’ll never find a better waiter than Givens(sp? Gibbons?)

After strolling through fisherman’s wharf we decided to eat at Joe’s Crab Shack… Usually I do take time to look around Unilocal and figure out what’s popular or has great food pictures. Unfortunately this type of hunger we had wasn’t the type we wanted to wait and research for. Anyways the location is pretty cool, you walk upstairs and arrive into the dining hall. The hostess told us it was about 40 minute wait. It was too long and we choose to just eat at the bar instead. After a few minutes of sitting and waiting around, slightly disgusted of how sticky and wet the bar was – a bartender greeted us. Unfortunately he didn’t get the hint we wanted the counter too to get wiped off and he walked off. We then got a new bartender/waiter. He was super sarcastic and had a poor attitude but, he did wipe down the counter top. For food we ordered the Ragin Cajun. It was great at first… However the steam pot only had 4 pieces of shrimp. How are you suppose to survive on only 4 pieces of shrimp? I certainly could not. Also when I initially tried to order extra shrimp the waiter/bartender said it would cost a millions dollars and they soups the add to the steam pot. The plastic yellow crab opener was super crumby… The corn that was inside the steam pot was so hard – felt like they rushed the cooking time. Lastly the sauce was super salty… Overall I think this restaurant is too touristy… We definitely should have gone to crab house it’s like less than a block away!!! Go their instead this place is mediocre, compared to all the nearby restaurants. Or anything else that was nearby in fisherman’s wharf for authentic seafood. Oh wait – the drinks were good. We had the Shark attack and the southern sweet tea. I recommend coming here for drinks sorta… But NOTFOOD.

We were looking for a place in Fishermans wharf for some seafood that wasn’t ridiculously expensive. This place is fantastic! Shared one of the platters between two which was more than enough and not expensive at all. It was delicious and fresh! Also ordered a jug of the shark attack cocktail. This was great value! One cocktail is $ 10 and a jug that gave us 6 drinks was $ 15!!! Bargain! Our waitress was so nice and friendly! Even gave us some free Joes merchandise like mason jars, crab claws, drink sharks and crab bibs without us even asking. They definitely care about customers and want you to have a great experience.

We came on a Saturday night but thankfully the wait for a table was only 5 minutes. It was pretty busy though. We got seated at a table with a semi view outside, which was nice. I came for the Shark Bite. It was awesome how they had you scream after a short introduction of getting the drink. Haha. I was warned it tasted horrible, but actually it tasted really good to me. Very sweet and felt very strong with that Bacardi 151 in there. It was so cool watching them pour the red liquor into the blue drink, just like a bloody shark bite! I had the clam strips because I hadn’t had clam strips in years. They tasted fresh and not too stringy/chewy like a lot of places have them. They had the perfect texture to the breading and cooked just right. The fries they came with were also good. They weren’t cut too thick or too thin and cooked just right as well. Overall a great experience and friendly staff. I’ll come back to try the queen crab next time.

Honestly, I love this place and this is the 2nd time I have come to this location. However a lot of these bad reviews are likely due to their young bodies working here. The workers are young(like me) and people that are stringent and expect supremely mature servers won’t always get it here. They are young and hip. If you can’t stand dealing with 20 year old personalities then this isn’t the place for you. But this is the place for me! I love the fact that the servers here aren’t brainless, personality-tarnished, damaged servers you get elsewhere. Their vibrant personalities are interesting as long as you give them a chance and aren’t a stick in the mud yourself. Food = great :) two dollar Tuesdays are the bomb. Hurricanes pack a punch!

This specific brand locates at Pier 39, one of the most popular touristy destinations. Since Joe’s Crab Shack is an American chain of beach-themed seafood restaurants, it attracts a large number of tourists! When travelling seasons aka December and summer months, the restaurant is so crowded! Location(4⁄5): Since it’s at Pier 39, it has an ideal location for business owners. In order to get to the restaurant, you need to walk upstairs. If you have never been here before, you have to carefully look for their restaurant’s sign. Otherwise, you will easily walk by the restaurant without knowing. Services(3⁄5): Depending on touristy seasons, you may have to wait for a long time. The restaurant is spacious, so I have never waited longer than 30 minutes. The best thing about their service is their random dance. Sometimes, you will see the waiters dancing with the music and singing along their theme song! If you come here to celebrate your birthday, I believe that they will also sing a birthday song for you. Aside from their, their table service is mediocre. Food(3⁄5): I always come here for these following items: CLASSICSAMPLER($ 13.69): All the classics combined! Crazy good crab dip, great balls of fire and crispy calamari. CAESAR($ 13.79): Crisp romaine lettuce, Parmesan cheese and our classic Caesar dressing with grilled chicken. SOUTHERNSTUFFEDSHRIMP($ 18.49): Jumbo grilled bacon-wrapped shrimp filled with seafood stuffing. Served with crab dirty rice, hushpuppies, vegetables and buttery spiced TABASCO® Brand Pepper Sauce. THEBEANTOWNBAKE($ 47.99): 2 whole Maine lobsters, 1 pound of clams, shrimp and smoked sausage with Old Bay® Seasoning. Their food is without a doubt solid. If you want seafood at Pier 39AND Bubble Gump Shrimps is so crowded, this restaurant is a great alternative! However, it is on a pricey side. If this is your first time in California and San Francisco, flavor here is a great introduction of the Northern Californian seafood cuisine. If you are lucky to sit next to the windows, you can see beautiful view of the beach and the yacht port right across from the restaurant.

Food was overly salty and not much as a portion. I went with my crew of 6 to have dinner here and I found this place to be a meh place. They offer mostly seafood but also some chicken and steak entrees. I had the raging Cajun bucket where I split with my bf. The amount of meat in the crabs are very little with 2 half of a potato along with a corn co. b and shrimp. Server was very attentive and would check up on us. The downside is he never came with our butter as promised. They have this routine where they were dancing in front of yoh which was a bit of a bother when you are just trying to eat peacefully
