Food was good freshly made a little skimpy on the meats in the combo chowmein but made up for it in the wor wonton. Best part was that they delivered way out here in Hunter point. we also got the vegetable dish with was my only complaint because no boi Choi only broccoli a LOT if celery and snap peas.

Been here twice now and thought food was great both times. Lots of vegetarian dishes including veggie hot and sour soup. Clean and relatively quiet place to enjoy a meal. Will be back!!!

I’m not the biggest reviewer, but since I’m new to the city I’m checking out new spots and thought I’d start reviewing :) I stopped by to order some lunch today. I ordered the kun pao chicken with rice and pot stickers. Honestly I didn’t care for the food at all. Rice was a bit dry and the chicken def didn’t have much flavor. The pot stickers were to thick as well. Not my fav, can’t say I’d go back

This place was empty when I went on a Thursday at 3:20pm. I should have known to run out then! I ordered a lunch plate by walking UP to counter at back of restaurant. Woman didn’t even greet me, just said ‘Sit where you want’… I ordered Mongolian Chicken. I swear it was on the table in less than four minutes! How the EFF is that even possible? It was the worst I’ve had in my life! The chicken tasted gamy or bad!!! I ate all onions and rice because I was hungry!!! I(once again) had to walk up to counter to pay for the crap that I was served. Not only is the service terrible, the food wasn’t even palatable!!! When I paid the woman said ‘so quick!‘ I replied telling her that the chicken tasted bad… she disagreed, of course, I paid my tab EXACTLY …walked out, no tip and will never return. The ONLYREASON I gave it one star is because I couldn’t post this without ONE!

Has the best, crispy sesame beef! Better than any other Chinese places nearby. Eggplant and prawns good too.

Had a great experience here on a Saturday afternoon. I went with a General’s Chicken Rice Plate lunch special for ~$ 6.50 or so. My girlfriend got some mixed vegetables with Tofu rice plate for about the same price. We split an order of 3 egg rolls for $ 4.50. Please be aware that lunch specials run somewhere around only 11:30 am to 3pm. Don’t be shocked if it costs more then this if you go for dinner, although the prices didnt look much higher. We were the only ones in the restaurant aside from someone who came to pick up their food and we chose to eat there. The lady working there was prompt with us taking our orders and getting and refilling our drinks. Food came out very quickly and was on point. The General’s Chicken was crispy and tender not chewy and my plate came with some well cooked brocolli and generous portions of aforementioned chicken and rice. The Tofu and mixed vegetables was delicious from the bite I had and my girlfriend’s comments. This was a generous serving size as well. When it came time for us to get going she was already aware and came right over right as I looked up to get her attention. She quickly boxed up the left overs of my girlfriends meal and brought the check with a nice togo container. I easily recommend this place and can’t understand why it has such low reviews for the price, quality, and service I’ve experienced. Quickly scanning through I see two one star reviews that seem ridiculous. One guy«Jet V.» rates them 1 star because he showed up once with no way to pay for his food and they basically politely told him he needed to pay somehow before they would give him the food. He also said hes been ordering *delivery* from them for 13 years but is somehow surprised they didn’t recognize him the first time he came into the restaurant. Gee I wonder why? This seems extremely emotional and entitled, especially considering hes been satisfied with the food quality and service to order from them for 13 years. Another«Gardner P.» 1 star is because someone said they found their stoop littered with menus from the place. This could have happened for a billion different reasons. Anyway, I’d say they are definitely worth a shot and even though it was a bit of a hike for us(we live in Soma but were dropping off recycling near by) I’ll be back. Or maybe even pay for the long range delivery to our neighborhood which they are willing to do for a pretty reasonable fee.

I’ll definitely be back here. The décor is a little out dated but I liked it here a lot. I am a newly converted vegetarian and the meatless chicken and green beans were cooked awesome. Flavorful and light. The food came out quick. Perfect dining experience.

For 13 years, I ordered delivery from this place, and got the same 3 items. It even got so that when I would call and told the same cashier my address, she already knew what I wanted. Basic Chinese food delivered quickly – that was the routine for 13 years. Yesterday, I called for the same delivery. She says the delivery driver wasn’t there but I could pick up the food. I reluctantly said OK since I had already ordered before she said there was no driver. I jump in the car, get to the place, and realize I forgot my wallet at home. I explained this to her and asked if I could call her back with the card number, or have her look up my card number from one of my previous recent orders. She refused to do both, so I drive back home, get my wallet, drive back to the restaurant to pick up the order they were supposed to deliver! Minor inconvenience, but the worst part was that I get there and she gives me a fake«Oh, I know you. You good customer» routine. 13 years and I’m done patronizing this disloyal business.

The waitress is unfriendly and rude. She saw I had 2 year old and didn’t even bother seat me. She put her nose up in air and walked away. I had to seat myself. When it came down to pay she wouldn’t take my visa card even tho sign said visa. The broccoli chicken was awful. I didn’t think you could mess up on Broccoli Chicken they proved me wrong.

I’ve lived in Bernal Heights for over twenty years and have never tried this restaurant. I have my go-to Chinese restaurants but thought I;d try this one since it’s eight minutes from my house. Ordered pot stickers(over cooked & no seasoning), wonton chicken soup(again, no real flavor), sweet and sour prawns(had a radioactive, red color that was frightening and the batter was soggy not crisp), and a fortune cookie(not in a cellophane wrapper, therefore, have no knowledge what could have crawled on it in the night). Fortune said, «Great time to try new places». I took this as an omen to try another Chinese restaurant.

For Chinese delivery, they are my favorite. They are fast to deliver great Chinese to my neighborhood, the Portola, which is often neglected by good restaurants. Prices are the same as all of the other take-out Chinese joints.

We have ordered delivery several times and one thing has been quite consistent: they were surprisingly quick and also accurate with the order as well. No bad experiences. Delivery option are very limited in the Bayview and so for our choices, this place is not bad. We like the General’s Chicken and the Sweet and Sour Chicken and will be trying other new things in the future. Our general feeling is: not bad on all fronts.

Delivery service is quick and great prices. 1 star they have a big menu… I usually order the Mongolian beef chow mein thats my favorite dish here I can eat awhole box alone lol. Spicy salty pork chop, beef and broccoli. The pot stickers are big and good tasting. The food is not that greasy thats the part I love. You don’t feel like a grease ball after u eat.3 stars the soups are alright I dont like the broth needs more flavor. Overall I do recommend this place

I wanted to like this place because of its affordability, but the food is not very good. The soups have an… unidentifiable«off» flavor that’s a bit unsettling(we came up with burnt hair or feathers). The faux meats can be a bit squidgy and curiously different from batch to batch. If you need some cheap and immediate fried rice, this is your place. Otherwise, you’ll likely be disappointed with what you get.

Bought a house in bernal several years ago. Went here a few times in a pinch during kitchen remodel. Was shocked at how bad it was. Vowed to never ever go back. Recently broke that vow to see if things had changed… which I realize now was a mistake. Nothing has changed… still having a culinary existential crisis… How could it be this bad? Is this really chicken? I wouldn’t feed this stuff to my dog. This place is usually empty every time I walk by… for a reason. Heed my words Foodie — Abandon all hope Ye who enter.

Selfishly, I’m OK with the mediocre reviews here. Keeps the riff raff down. But if you’re looking for honest-to-goodness home style Hunan vittles in this part of the world, you won’t go wrong with Hunan Chef. Personal hilights are Singapore Curry Noodles, pot stickers, Ma Po Dofu and dry-braised green beans.

I ordered this a couple days ago and it gave me food poisoning. The food wasn’t good enough to even justify it. Mediocre to sub par taste and it RUINED my stomach for two days! AVOIDTHISPLACE.

I’ve only have had takeout from here a few times. It’s a basic average place. The family is very nice that runs it. The fried rice and pots stickers were excellent. The pork strips were not edible. The general’s chicken was ok. I’ve never seen anyone eat inside so it must primarily be all takeout.

A Bernal kinda day led me, mine and ours to dine here as well. After some drinks at the wine place next door, we wanted to try this restaurant. Our first time! The one thing that caught our attention — the sizzling rice soup! Boy, how is it that we’ve never had this soup before, given that we eat quite a bit at Asian restaurants?! Hmm… So yummy! The 4 **** stars are for the soup(grin). The rest of the food is average and typical. Aside, we noticed a lot of spelling mistakes on their daily special board. Good service, reasonably clean and the price is right.

This restaurant opens at 11am. The red neon sign is lit«OPEN». My girlfriend walks in to get 2 servings of steamed rice…“It’s not ready yet, 30 minutes”. We come back in 30 minutes after walking around. «It’s not ready, it’s still cooking.» If your restaurant’s opening time is 11am, and your«OPEN» sign is lit, your establishment should be ready!
