This store ROCKS! OMG, we love Rock Candy! I love the sandwiches, have tried several types… really delicious, different from the regular fare you find in most sandwich shops or restaurants… Frappes are yummy… and the candy… fun to get just a piece or two. very sweet and nostalgic… I“m so glad they are there!

Really happy to have this place in the neighborhood. Fun drinks, excellent chocolate. Not sure how they make enough to stay in business but I’m doing my part!

I have been wanting to go to this shop since i found out it was in one of my relatives neighborhood. I was visiting this weekend, and when i asked my relative to go for a walk i knew what direction to head. I made it a point to stop in. Oh and i wasnt disappointed at all. Love this shop. Lot of candies i was alittle kid again. I am chocolate fan and the owner did not disappoint. I grabbed some marshellow stick i think it was called. Oh man it was awesome. I grabbed some chocolate covered pretzels and i have to say that was my favorite. Not to heavy in the chocolate just right. Next time i will be back and try other things, i hear there are sandwhichs, and the lemonades looked good. The owner was very nice this placed rocked. I cant wait to go back and see what other goodies i can get.

Rock Candy started out as a candy store but it’s much more than that now. In addition to candy, they now offer coffee(from Oakland based Roast), sandwiches, savory hot snacks(nachos, pizza), breakfast(waffles, sandwiches), ice cream, floats, lemonades, smoothies, milkshakes, cookies, and thick hot chocolate. Then there’s the candy. The selection isn’t huge(it’s a small shop) but it is interesting and mostly from small scale artisan producers: Peter’s Kettle Corn, Eclipse Chocolates, Cowgirl Chocolates, Sweetdragon brittle, Avenue Sweets caramels, etc. There’s vegan fudge, vegan chocolate and other items for those with special diets. They have candy that kids like: Pop Rocks, Jolly Ranchers, Lemonheads and bulk candy(gummy candy, licorice). * Sparkling lemonade made to order: extra tart, refreshing, yum * Chocolate covered honeycomb: sweet, firm, crunchy honeycomb center, thick chocolate covered, delicious * Avenue Sweets caramel: slow cooked in copper kettles, the caramels are very buttery, not too soft or too firm, delicious * Avenue sweets nougat: a little bland, would like more nuts * Sweetdragon almond brittle: thin, buttery, crunchy with lots of almonds, turns chewy, right amount of salt, yum The chocolate bars are $ 7 — 9 each and the caramels are $ 1 each. Prices(markups) are definitely on the high side. Service is friendly.

I happily go into diabetic seizures just thinking about the variety of awesomeness in this one of a kind rock n roll candy store! Shop owner is the real deal. Knows her candy in a serious way. For a while, I thought that it was just an evil den of a mind boggling assortment of sweets. But I was proven wrong. It’s much more. Not only is it a sweet tooth’s dream-shop(several vegan delights as well), but Rock Candy Snack Shop has some of the best deli sandwiches in San Francisco! I got the turkey w homemade onion jam on a massive roll and now I have to have it at least a few times a week. Bottom line is that this store is addictive to say the least.

I hardly ever write reviews but I had to for this place. I stumbled onto this cute shop accidentally and will definitely be returning. Her cookies were absolutely delicious! I just can’t remember which one they were because I purchased something else but she gave me a sample of her cookies and I’m hooked!

I bypassed this shop a number of times, not realizing the extraordinary delights inside. On my first trip in, I was drawn to the dark chocolate Rocky Road. It was out-of-this-world! The other day I went back for more Rocky Road, which wasn’t available. There wasn’t much chocolate for my taste to choose from. I purchased a small Barlovento bar for $ 5. It seemed pricey for such a small bar, but the Venezuelan Chocolate with Kilauea Sea Salt sounded intriguing. Well, I tried one small bite. It was delicious. And so satisfying, one small bite was enough. That just never happens to me. My experience with my purchases has been marvelous. I just wish I could count on the availability of something I liked. The owner Heather is helpful and easy to talk to. Next visit I’ll try the flatbread.

Lovely little shop. Owner was sweet, but prices are high and she doesn’t make anything in house candy wise, not even the popcorn which is kind of a bummer. Will go back to try the grilled cheese and hot chocolate, but even the churro that comes with the hot chocolate is sources out. :(

Excellent ‘lil shop with unique candy and chocolate bars that are worth their premium-ish prices. The absinthe-flavored chocolate bar rocked! And the owner’s a pretty cool chick.

This Shop ROCKS!!! Sweet tooth is satisfied and I got treats for the hubby! The double salted licorice is fantastic and organic jelly beans hit the spot! The shop-keep /owner was cool as can be. She is excited to have opened and very informative about everything she has in the store. She was one of those owners that really cared about her customers and neighborhood. I will come back for gifts and treats!!!

CANDY!!! It’s awesome how this place is independently owned, getting candy from local sellers to sell at their store. As we were browsing, the nice lady offered us a sample of the mocha hazelnut brittle. Man, it’s incredible how well samples work. That’s why Costco has samples everyday! After the sample and some more browsing, we ended up buying a small pack of the mocha hazelnut and white chocolate macadamia. The best part of the visit may have been the handwritten paper bags that come with your purchase. Each bag is written with its own thank you greeting with colored markers.

Appreciate the candy shop sprucing up Cortland! The neighborhood could definitely benefit from more places like this.

Whenever I walk into this shop, my instinct is to buy one of everything. I suppose I could do that, have a stockpile of yummy treats, and not come back for another six months or so. OR I can demonstrate a bit of self control, buy a few things at a time, and come back every couple of weeks to check out(and buy) what’s new. Anyway, let’s be real… a stockpile of sweets in my home won’t make it to six months. They carry(and I’ve bought) caramels from Utah and licorice from New Zealand, but I think it’s cool that most of their items are from Bay Area/Northern Cali companies. Staff is friendly and helpful, but will also leave me to browsing in peace. With Valentine’s Day coming up, you can skip the flowers and hit up this place instead.

I bought 1 tiny caramel here for $ 1 last week. Sure, it was super expensive, but I still remember everything about it. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to walk on Cortland without buying one again.

Sweet Jesus-so. much. candy. Within 60 seconds of entering the store, I asked Heather owner how she finds all of the local and unique types of chocolate, caramels, brittles, etc. that she sells. She’s on the job full-time tracking down cool and interesting treats. A great addition to the Cortland and the Bernal community!

I love the concept of an independently owned, upscale chocolate store. This place is tiny and cute. The owner is friendly. I looked around at the chocolate selection. There wasn’t very much, but what I did find caught my attention. The owner explained that she orders most of her chocolate from small companies and from Ghana(where, she said, most of the world’s chocolate comes from). I bought hot chocolate on a stick: a wooden stick with a block of chocolate at the bottom. The stick can be stirred in hot milk or coffee to make a delicious libation. There were a few varieties including French and salted caramel among others. My treats were put in a brown paper bag, lovingly decorated with colored markers by a friend of the owner. I fancied the bit of personal, creative whimsey.

New Goodies in the hood with recent opening of a true candy store. Specialties like New Mexico Chile and Pumpkin Seed Brittle. Wow, rich-sweet and savory with a slight kick. Perfect as a breakfast candy with a cup of Four Barrel.
