Food was kind of expensive, we ordered crab cakes which was good. We sat at a booth which was nice and everything looked nice. However I would not come back to eat here again just because food is ok, but price is a little too high.

I recommend cheap beer, bread, view on a rainy day. Food is vanilla tourist shite and not worth considering. No better or worse than the other stuff on the pier, which is to say not very good. On the plus side, the kitchen is clean and the staff is very nice.

We got there just before they were about to close out the kitchen upstairs, so we remained downstairs and ordered a sh*tload of appetizers and drinks. Our bartender was great and talked to us until we were ready to leave. He didn’t make us feel pressured to leave, so we definitely had a great time! Decent food!

i came here for my friend’s company holiday party so i didn’t have to pay for anything. the food was great and the location is beautiful! it’s located on pier 39 and you can see out to the bay bridge and the entire city! there is a full sized bar where the bartender can make whatever your dirty little heart desires. the seafood is great and extremely fresh! i also loved the clam chowder here. it was some of the best i’ve ever had! i don’t know if i would come back here because it is pretty expensive. the restaurant itself is really big and has tons of windows. i think it would mostly be a tourist restaurant for out of towners.

Okay, I’ll start out by saying that I give this place 4 stars for one, and only one thing, their clam chowder in a sourdough breadbowl. First of all, go upstairs all the way at the end of the pier if you want no hassel and almost always a nice seat overlooking the bay. Second, go during brunch/lunch for the lunch specials. Most importantly, and follow these directions closely, ONLY order the clam chowder in a sourdough breadbowl(available only during lunch, and it’s like $ 10 a la carte). It’s better than any of the street vendors I have tried; it’s in a nicer setting, large portions, yummy chowder, great sourdough. A side of lemon and a dash of pepper will do the trick for perking up the flavor just slightly, but I happen to enjoy this delicious treat when I can manage encompassing myself with toursists at Pier 39.

Ah, good ‘ol Dante’s … right smack-dab in the middle of Pier 39. A safe haven for those hoping to escape the madness of tourists on a Saturday afternoon. I was a little shocked when the hostess at the door told us there were no available tables and offered seats at the bar. Luckily, my companion knew there was an upstairs dining area — which ended up being almost completely empty. Hmph. The food was decent, but fairly pricey … the view of the bay was a pleasant surprise, though. I wouldn’t say it was the WORST place ever. But it’s a good choice if you happen to be aimlessly wandering around Pier 39 on a busy weekend. :)

Expensive for what you are getting, mediocre service. but what do you expect? You are on the Pier… the view is nice though… They make a pretty good clam chowder in a bread bowl(totally needs extra lemon.) and it is only available during lunch(and ORDERIT A LACARTE — the salad with bay shrimp.ugh.) oh, and their calamari isn’t bad. I don’t know… decent but I would rather keep looking for the ultimate bread bowl fantasy…

Definitely for tourists who just want to waste their money and for ignorant bay areans. This place could be closest to the worse place ever. The hostess was not friendly at all, as she showed us to our table upstairs, she was already up the stairs and next to our seats before we even knew where we were going. I ordered the mesquite grilled seafood combo and halfway through my food, I chewed on something black and tambark like. I looked on my plate and there appeared to be cigarette ashes and a glowing piece of ash on my food. My bf called the waiter over and the waiter nonchalantly said it’s just a piece of mesquite and it won’t hurt me. I was pissed because wtf kind of place treats their cliental like this? The waiter avoided us for the rest of the night. The food did not make up for the lack of service, it was below par.
