We came here for brunch after a long weekend trip and before one last long drive home, so good food was very welcome! Between five of us, we got a little bit of everything — crepes, pancakes, eggs. you name it. All of us were pretty satisfied. The place was jam-packed when we came, and my friend said that’s how it always was. I’m surprised to see they’ve closed.

More of a 3 ¾ stars. I love consistency and this place is just that. I usually get the Santa Fe(Grilled chicken apple sausage with scramble eggs, green onions, provolone and salsa fresca) $ 9.50. Good flavors, not dry, and filling. You also get a side salad and/or house potatoes. Fills you right up. Another recommendation is the New Orleans Benediction(Crab cakes on an English muffin with poached eggs and spicy Cajun hollandaise) yummy! not spicy at all, but something different if you don’t want a crêpe. OHHH! another one is the pulled pork sandwich. It’s on their daily special menu. That is juicy, with the right flavors, combined with the cabbage, oh boy! Dessert here is pretty good. I got their chocolate cake here. That is chocolate. The atmosphere is great, good neighborhood. I order out most of the time. The line can get long and seats can get hard to come by. By ordering for pick-up they tell you how long it will take, by the time you get there, all you have to do is pay and leave.

I consider myself somewhat of a «tofu scramble connoisseur» and this place knows what’s up. Nothing peeves me more when a tofu scramble comes out mushy or watery. That’s it, those are my only complaints, other than that I’m open to all kinds of variations, but some places insist on using super soft silken tofu or they are too lazy to get the packed water out. But enough of the bad. This place offers an enjoyably firm tofu with fresh mushrooms and spinach and other veggies upon your request. They even allowed me to swap in shittake mushrooms for the usual button which warms my heart. They have some fresh jelly’s, dunno if they’re made in house or not, but wherever the origin of these jellies they certainly rock the toast that comes with pretty hard. Plus you get the ever tasty potatoes along with it, breakfast’o’champions. My only warning note is evidently sometimes they may assume you want eggs in your tofu scramble. Doesn’t make much sense to me, but a few times they’ve asked at register«Did you want eggs in it as well?» The menu doesn’t mention eggs in the dish but since I’ve been asked I do make it a point to say«no eggs» when I order it just in case. No, I haven’t tried any of the other food options, but I don’t need to. I’ve been here 10+ times for that breakfast alone. Their entire tofu scramble meal with some fresh OJ and tea will combat even the worst of hangovers, I can vouch for that. And if the hangover is just too powerful you can always give up and go back to drinking, they have beer and wine too!

Heck NO to cafeteria food today. My co-workers and I decided to order from crepevine. I called in our order for pick-up: 2 small Athena salad(basically a Greek salad with oregano vinaigrette, just a different name) and a small tossed green salad with grilled salmon. Their salads come in small($ 6.25) and large($ 8.95) and comes with 2 slices of French bread. You have the option to add grilled chicken, salmon or tofu for an extra $ 2.95 I inquired how long it would take. The female voice on the other line said: «should be ready in 15 minutes.» * well, turns out 2 more people want to add their orders to our list too * So, I called crepevine back. «Oh, can I add 2 El Dorado burgers to that? cooked medium» * uh-oh, here comes another lagger. Add on one more burger * «uh, this is Janice again. I just called 5 minutes ago? can I add one more El Dorado burger for a total of 3?» * sigh on the other line * «Okay.» Our order was ready in 20 minutes. The salad portions here are ENORMOUS! You’ll definitely get your daily recommended 5 servings of vegetable in one sitting.(No, I’m not exaggerating!) I highly recommend adding the grilled salmon. It is worth the extra couple of bucks. You get a thick piece of salmon fillet that’s perfectly seasoned with beautiful grill marks. The criss-cross design on my fish definitely made the whole meal better. I’ve heard from my co-worker that the burger was good. I mean, a half-pound ground chuck done medium, simply adorned with lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayo, how could it not be good? $ 8.95 for a burger(comes with small salad and roasted potatoes) is a great value. I’m so happy crepevine is near my job! We have another awesome go-to place for take out. That alone is a great reason to not hate coming to work!

Great brunch spot if you’re looking for a hearty eggy sort of meal. Lots of options on their huge chalk board. I had a hard time deciding. Ended up with one of the scrambles — chicken apple sausage, spinach and mushrooms — served with a side of potatoes and a bread(chose wheat bagel). This was really good, very filling, and cheesy. I actually loved the bagel for whatever reason, maybe cause the orange marmalade sat invitingly on the table. Also tried the SF crêpe — filled with Salmon, spinach, and cheese. I didn’t think I would like it but I did. I think I ate more of the crêpe than the scramble. I liked how it was flaky salmon and not the smoked variety. A nice change. They were slow in refilling the coffee, but overall a big space where you can almost count on for a table and a consistent meal.
