I have only been there once. I got cinnamon swirl to go. Warmed. And it was an excellent choice. I first underestimated this place, cause to be honest, for a bakery their pastry selection is poor. But one bite into the swirl and I was sold! Why no one thought about this before? I had hot pain au chocolat before. But hot cinnamon swirl is completely another league. It is actually levelling this pastry to a proper dessert treat. And so my swirl arrived in a plastic microwaveable packaging(well, of course, what I meant by «warmed» was simply putting it in a microwave for 30 seconds… all magic gone with a press of the«Start» button) armed with plastic fork and knife. Which the sheer idea of using at the very beginning was dismissed by my unenlightened mind. Then I understood everything. The plastic packaging(apart from the need to put it in a microwave), fork and knife. You can’t eat it with your bare hands! It is simply impossible! This thing is too good for such blasphemy! That’s why all these forks and knives, packaging that doubles as a plate. It is a royal treat afterall! I may never feel as anxious as getting eggs and bacon there, which I am sure are doing justice to this place. But another hot cinnamon swirl? But of course!

The food was alright. I had the Applewood smoked bacon Flatbread. The portions are alittle small for the price but it was tasty.

Ordered the Anaheim scrambler and the pancakes It was ok! Pancake was a little salty… don’t know if it was from the butter or the pancake itself. The side dish of fruit was not good. We were there at 9 am but fruit was not fresh. It was almost spoiled. Next time maybe I should get the potatoes.

A friend and I came here for a catch up around 3pm last Tuesday. I had to repeat my order of an iced vanilla latte with almond milk three times. Every time the cashier looked baffled and I still think my coffee had dairy in it. Luckily I’m not lactose. My friend said his coffee was wrong too. Not like the place was busy and our orders were not complicated like I’m sure Starbucks sees daily. And cashiers like that guy are going to get at least $ 15 an hour in another few years?! Just pass on this place.

I love the food here. Their mac and cheese is so delicious! And the spinach sweet crisp salad is the perfect balance with the sweet bread inside the fresh greens. And I love that you can buy a bag of the sweet crisps to go! It makes me crave this place just for that! However if the staff at this location are rude and they are just very«drowsy». They are down and dragging and always seems to just hate being at work. I have never seen a smile out of the dozen or so times I have came. There is nothing bright or cheerful about this location or team. As much as I love the food the staff makes me dread coming here.

This place is extremely poorly run. I ordered online for pickup during my dinner break and when I got there at the designated time not only was my order not ready, but they informed me they were out of something. It then took 5 minutes for them to figure out what they were out of and what I could get in return. My pickup time was 6:45 and I didn’t end up walking out the door with my order until well after 7. Several people who walked in and ordered after I had placed my order were served before me. To make matters worse, once I got back to my office my order was STILL wrong. It seems like they have a really high turnover rate and everyone working there is super new because they were all running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The food is decent but it’s not worth it with the bad service. I won’t be back.

I have very fond memories of Corner Bakery Café, having gone many times in Washington, DC. It was a great, go-to breakfast place with fantastic service and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, that same sort of hospitality doesn’t translate to the fast-paced San Francisco environment. Overall, the food didn’t really meet expectations, portion sizes were small, and it just didn’t feel all that personable. Sure, the food was alright, but it wasn’t amazing. Maybe nostalgia is attributing to that, maybe it’s the atmosphere that made the food really good in DC. I just can’t find myself having all that great of a time to sit down and enjoy my meal here. Maybe I’m ordering the wrong things. Maybe if I order the scrambles that really got the job done back in DC, I might see the joy of this place. Unfortunately, for the time being, it’s just a happy memory. I will be back Corner Bakery Café, and hopefully next time will be better. TIP: San Francisco isn’t the best for sit-down breakfast. Just grab and go.

If you want a tasty but processed and probably radioactive broccoli cheese soup that’s mostly velveeta, but also kind of comforting, this is your spot.

I went here for first time today for lunch. I was all excited to try the cold oatmeal cereal, but to my dismay certain breakfast items stop at 11 grr. But they do have the scrambles just no potatoes. I don’t really understand why they only have select items after 11, oh well. I got the farmers scramble with whole wheat toast. It wasn’t bad, but I am sure nothing was organic and the jam was that sugary, high fructose stuff. I liked it enough and it is affordable. It is an order and eat place, but there was plenty of seating so we got a table. If you like diner type food then you will like this place, I am just a little more picky. There are a few other things on the menu I want to try so perhaps my ratings will improve if I like them. People did seem to like this place though.

I ordered a chicken sandwich and the meat was super processed. Factory farm quality, then frozen then microwaved into a soggy mess. I was so grossed out, I just threw the sandwich in the trash and moved on. The physical space is beautiful. I hope they are able to step up quality, esp in San Francisco where garbage quality meat is not going to fly. Good luck!

Finally a sandwich that isn’t greasy. I usually stay away from their sammies because they either come out burnt or a greasy soppy mess. Today I ordered a turkey sandwich and it came out wonderful! I also scored a free pumpkin bundt cake. That was good but a bit too sweet. I ordered a truffle mocha and it was pretty good. At least it wasn’t watered down. Minus one star for sticking the bag of chips in my sammie box. RIght on top of the sammy. Do they know chemicals from the bag can leach onto the food? Ugh just hand the bag of chips to people please.

«Express breakfast in the heart of San Francisco.» The Corner Bakery Café is a convenient breakfast/café spot for the morning warriors on the go. This café is located along Market street in a high traffic area. There is ample seating space for large groups and the areas are generally clean. The menu is straight forward with tons of options and service was relatively fast. Short on time and needing a quick breakfast, I decided to order a cinnamon roll and smoked bacon & cheddar panini. The cashier was very personable and helpful. The wait time for my meal order was a mere few minutes which allowed me enough time to take a look around the establishment. This was definitely a chain. My order arrived and to my surprise the panini was soggy, oily and lackluster. The egg filling was watery and had no flavor. The cinnamon roll was not fresh and was a bit hard to cut into. This breakfast reminds me of rest stop foods subjected to hours of heat lamps on a rotating display. The pictures look fantastic but the end result was not exactly as depicted. My overall first impression, the meal was not as appetizing as the graphics and advertised pictures and I ended throwing most of it away. The saving grace was the nice customer service.

There really isn’t much I could enlighten you about the Corner Bakery Café. Despite its deliberately quaint name, it’s part of a chain of nearly 200 fast food-plus outlets across the country, all very studied in its oddly claustrophobic layout to ensure we all have maximum exposure to the calories they sell in mass quantities. They play in the same ballpark as Panera Bread, Specialty’s, and Au Bön Pain, meaning it’s a grade level above Mickey D’s because they offer some table service, which basically means someone comes with your tray and takes your number. There’s no genuine interest in finding out if the food meets a customer’s satisfaction. It didn’t. I tried the $ 8.29 California Grille on whole grain harvest bread and supplemented their pre-packaged chips with a Caesar side salad for $ 1.49 more. The sandwich was a wet mess and overly seasoned to boot. It contained grilled zucchini, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted tomatoes, spinach pesto and provolone cheese(photo: ). There was very little flavor enhancement from the grilling, and I kept wondering if the staff even tastes any of the food they must prepare per directions from their corporate headquarters. My guess is no. I would trust the Korean ladies at any of the gazillion delis/mini-marts that actually know how to make a veggie sandwich. FOOD — 2 stars… not much thought given to the execution here AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… focus appears to be on commerce, not comfort SERVICE — 2 stars… well… TOTAL — 2 stars… somebody put Corner Bakery in the corner

They have the best bakery treats! Came here today for a few baked goods and they never disappoint. My favorites are the monster cookie(which has m&ms and brownie batter baked into it), the toffee cookie, and the mini bundt cakes. Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to other similar places nearby like Specialties. I plan on coming back again to try their entrees!

My new favorite healthy spot in SF! Pros: Compared to the restaurants around this place, the price is fair. I paid about $ 12 for it(priced at $ 10 plus tax and for health tax?) Portions are very good. I was full ¾s into my salad and I can store so much food into my stomach(and cheeks!) Healthy food choices with calorie count on them(mine was under 600 calories). Salads, pastas, etc. Lots of places to sit. Seats are placed around the place and the line to order is in the center. Neutral: HEADSUP for FIRST-time eaters at this place. They gave me a card and told me to sit and put the card on a cardholder so the waiter knew where to drop off the food. Very smart system but my friend had to tell me to put it up. The cashier didn’t tell me. Not sure if I would have received my food if my friend didn’t tell me… Cons: uncomfortable chairs. I sat at the table next to the windows and the chairs were too hard for me; good leg space though. They added too many tomatoes into my salad.

I’ve been here a few times and the food isn’t too bad. Every meal I’ve order came with avocado and they only literally give you a tablespoon size of avocado on the $ 10 sandwiches. Around the corner you can a cheaper one and it comes with a full half of fresh avocado. I’m not sure why they cheat you on it here. They also leave the water running full on in the sink behind the counter. I told the lady there’s a water shortage and she looked at the faucet then walked away leaving it running. It was still going 20 minutes later as I walked out. This place doesn’t seem to care much about anything …

Corner Bakery, or as I call it CB, was a staple for me when I was a SoCal resident. I used to go to the CB right next to my work to get salads, sandwiches, and baked goods at least once a week. When I moved back to the Bay and out of CB-territory, I was seriously having CB-withdrawals, especially when I would get all the CB emails reminding me of all the good eats. After a few years of relocating(and waiting), CB finally has made its way to the Bay, with a few locations scattered in SF, Peninsula/South Bay, and East Bay. I decided to come to this CB location a few weeks ago for a late dinner bite on a Wednesday evening. My first impression of CB was that it was pretty dead, which made sense because this CB is in the heart of the SF’s FiDi and it was near store closing time. I’m fairly certain that this place is pretty busy during lunch hours when all the SF office workers take their lunch break. All of the workers were very nice and friendly. Of note, the bathroom requires a code for entry, probably to prevent random people(who aren’t customers) from using it. I had the spicy Asian pork sandwich, which is a pretty new item on the CB menu. It was sweet, spicy, and juicy. The presentation was like that of an open faced sandwich, but the taste reminded me of a mix of a pulled pork and banh mi hybrid… sounds and looks like an interesting combination but it was tasty. I’ve had most of the other CB sandwiches(note, in SoCal), so the quality and taste of the spicy Asian pork sandwich is quite comparable. Overall, I had a good first time NorCal CB experience. I’ll probably be back here if I’m in the area to get my CB fix!

Service: 5 stars Food: 3.5 stars So my rating just about averages the two out. First off, a friend of mine tipped me off about the offer for a free spicy pork sandwich with a bag of chips. Luckily, there’s a corner bakery on the way home from work in downtown SF. I decided to hurry over to make it before my reservation, but I made it 10 minutes past. I also realized that I forgot to print out my confirmation. I was so happy when the manager simply took my phone screenshot and wasn’t strict that I didn’t arrive on time. She was really nice! I also received a free cookie from another offer– totaling $ 12 for the whole meal! It was such a wonderful midday surprise. Also one of the workers went to grab me a cup of water, which they didn’t have to do. Two thumbs up for the service! The place is super convenient bc it’s right off Montgomery bart and I really didn’t have to go very far. It’s across the street from Ginto, RadioShack and bunmee. When I got there, there was no line and the café was very clean! I was surprised there wasn’t a long line considering it’s a free meal. I came at a good time I guess. As for the food, I think if I were to purchase it without the offer, I would say it’s overpriced. The spicy pork was pretty mild but I don’t mind bc I usually don’t care for things that spicy. The sauce tasted great. The pork wasn’t dry at all. The bread would’ve tasted better toasted but it tasted okay. Overall, I had a great experience and how can I complain about free food? Thanks, corner bakery. If it weren’t too far for me, I would be back more often.

A coworker was nice enough to buy the office bakery items from here! Lots of goodies but definitely not for me… I’m definitely interested in their breakfast and lunch items though!
