I love boudins. I grab lunch from there pretty often but on Thursday I was not exactly happy. I ordered a Chicken Cesar Salad. What I got was a bowl full of lettuce and entire slices of chicken breast that were waaay too big to pick up with a fork. I grab lunch at Boudins because it is convenient. It was kind of annoying to pull out the chicken from my salad and have to cut it in myself. Where is the convenience in that. Anyway it is good i like the food but I might not return to this location simply because it defeats the purpose of convenience if I have to cut my own chicken. Next time ill make it at home.

Staff was nice enough, the manager was a real jerk though, yelling at staff in front of guests and pretty rude to the guests themselves

Perfectly adequate, but I do not think there is much reason to leave the less formal ground floor establishment(unless you want booze). Service from our waiter was good and the food came out quickly. The bread was tasty and the bakery itself quite an impressive operation. The food just wasn’t anything more than average.

I really like this location as you can order your food, take your order # upstairs and they bring you your food in a nice bright area with a big window overlooking Market Street — very nice ambiance! I had the lemony couscous salad with chicken added as recommended by my friend, and it was so good and healthy in such a nice, casual, pleasant place. I will be back, oh, I will be back! Thank you!

The location was overall fine. There point of sales system was not working so they couldn’t take credit card only cash at the time. They were super nice and apologize about it. Order the tomato, basil and garlic pizza and a cheese loaf. The pizza was okay nothing special about it. The crust was soft not really crispy and have to add black pepper just so it have some flavor. The cheese loaf was better than the pizza.

Take a long walk over a long bridge. Was so fun. We über-Ed to the other side of the bridge and had the most hysterical driver. Good way to start the day. Was super windy-no surprise-but a must do! Didn’t take very long. Watch out for the bikers. Wear a hat and use sunscreen-just like mom used to tell you.

The novelty of the bread bowl wore off after the first time I tried one. There’s too much bread and too little soup, and I don’t like wasting the leftover bread. I like the clam chowder, but prefer it in a bowl. If you’ve never had a bread bowl before, by all means, give hot soup in a hollowed out bread loaf a try. They are very photogenic. I stick to the Bowl of Soup & Half Sandwich combo. I usually get Clam Chowder & Turkey Cranberry or Chicken Pesto sandwich. Their clam chowder is creamy, hearty and thick, but not too thick. The sandwich has thinly sliced deli turkey in fresh soft bread. Gotta love cranberry sauce & turkey together. It’s a decent lunch option for under $ 10. Despite the lunch crowd, I never found it too difficult to find a seat in the back or on the balcony level upstairs. I really like the exposed brick and intricate crown moldings on the ceilings. It makes me wonder what this location used to be before. I actually do like their bread too. I take advantage of Boudin’s rewards program and use it towards a sourdough baguette once a month. They’ll slice it for you if you ask.

This location gets an extra star for ambience, a lot of places in SF have the old school vibe that makes it feel inviting and different. Ordered my food to go in 5 mins and the wait to pick it up was another 5 minutes. Well worth it for my grilled cheese with brie, fig, etc. Prices are sub $ 10, food prep is right in front of you for the sandwiches and plenty of tables for dining in.

The only thing I dislike about this location is that it can be hard to find seating sometimes during lunch, but that should be expected. The food is always the same, no matter which location you go to, I really like that about Boudins. Also, my work doesn’t think they provide enough food for catering(specifically their continental breakfast).

Solid Boudin. My boss treated us out today and we used the online order to get three different meals. I ordered the Clam Chowder in a bread bowl and a Asian chicken salad. We set it up for an 11:40am pick up. I left my building at 11:35am and got there right on time(our office is just down the street). I came in and got into the line where you pick up online or mobile orders. They were a bit busy, but I didn’t wait more than a minute. Our food was set I received it from the lady behind the counter(who was very nice). She wasn’t sure if we wanted bread bowls I told her we did and she threw them in the bag. I would have preferred they were bagged up since it was slightly raining, but they turned out ok. The food itself was great. I started eating my food around 11:50am. I poured the soul into the bread bowl and it was still warm and tasted so good. The salad was the real kicker for me. It was absolutely delicious. It has mandarin oranges in it and it turned out to be very delicious mixed with the salad dressing and greens. I really enjoyed my experience here and would gladly come back to get some food from here. The way to go seems to be to order it online or the app since the place gets very busy during lunch time!

A surprisingly delicious breakfast sandwich. Definitely an upgrade from McDonald’s next door. Though I’ll admit that I’ve eaten more than my fair share of bacon egg and cheese biscuits(and they’re quite delicious), Boudin’s bacon and Havarti sandwich pretty much kicks the others’ ass. Why only 3-stars? Service in the morning at this particular location is pretty awful. The restaurant was pretty much empty besides the two staffers behind the counter, and a couple of stragglers ahead and behind me in line. Despite this, it took almost 15 minutes to get the single sandwich. Yes, they have to toast the bread and cheese with bacon. But that shouldn’t take a quarter of an hour. Once I got the sando in my hands, it was quite good. A 15-minute wait good? Maybe?

My first choice for lunch was a complete fail. While walking down Market back to work, I just decided to go to Boudin for lunch. It was Monday, October 19th around 2:45pm. Best of Boudin($ 8.29): Bowl of soup & Half sandwich *Clam chowder *Chicken pesto: all natural chicken breast, tomatoes, arugula, pesto mayo, balsamic vinaigrette, sourdough baguette This seems to be my go to order whenever I go to a Boudin. Their soup normally does the trick when I’m craving something creamy. And I have a weakness for pesto, so their sandwich typically hits the spot. Plus, when I’m in the mood for bread, there’s something comforting about their chewy, tangy, crusty sourdough bread. Maybe because I used to order their clam chowder breadbowl on our yearly school trips to pier 39. I had every intention of eating here, but for some reason my order was taking forever. I had walked a ways in an effort to get something else for lunch, so I didn’t have a lot of time to eat here. After 15+ mins of waiting and seeing other patrons getting their food before me, one of the ladies at the counter noticed me and asked what I ordered. At that point, I needed to haul my booty back to work, so I asked for it to be wrapped up for takeout. I probably would have given this location 4 stars as it’s nicer than some of the other locations, but the wait for my food kind of killed that. 3 stars it is.

Ok so i have mixed feelings with this Boudin, but overall it is still my favorite one. –Food tastes the same at all of them but i enjoy it! –I think this specific location is really nice inside. I love sitting upstairs! –i looooovvvveeeeee their tomato soup! Has a great texture and flavor and of course the bread is always awesome. –I went in yesterday at about 10 and i was unaware that they had breakfast items. I was actually there to buy lunch because im not much of a breakfast person. When i went to the counter to order, i told the woman i wanted the soup & salad combo which is what i always order. She informed me that they were only serving breakfast at the moment, but i know for a fact i overheard the person in front of me order something that was also not on the breakfast menu so??? But i let it go i wasn’t in the mood to be an asshole. –A previous experience i also had at this location was i went for lunch at around 11 oclock. I ordered a Soup & salad combo which was tomato soup & ceasar salad. After i placed my order i went and sat upstairs. Ten minutes had passed and i still had not gotten my food but there were lots of people so i figured it would be here in about a minute or so, But no not yet. I went down once it had been EXACTLY20 minutes. I wasnt upset cause i know shit happens but still thats pretty long for soup & salad. I walked up to the counter and a man asked if i needed anything(i think he might have been the manager of the store) and told him that i had been waiting 20 minutes and showed him my receipt and everything. He was really upset with the staff and told me he’d have my food sent right up. So once i was given my food he brought me a «Its on us card» for next time i ordered something and apologized to me for having to wait. I really appreciated that and thought it was really nice! The time after i went i used the gift card and it covered everything i ordered! –Overall i enjoy coming here on lunch times and will continue to visit here(-:

I ordered the kale chicken caesar and it was good! Too bad the salad only filled ¾ of the container. I asked that the salad be tossed and the cashier confirmed my request but like another Unilocaler here, the kitchen staff neglected to read those notes. I was out the door before I realized my salad was not tossed. So I had to march back and ask them to toss my salad. It’s very hard to toss salad in a small container and with one fork. So when I ask for the salad to be tossed, the workers should do that!

Service is super fast. Food is amazing. I can’t complain!!! The lines always appear long, but just get in there, order your food, and in no time you’ll be munching away on some delicious grub. My «go to» is the clam chowder in a bread bowl, but it’s all good.

The food here is standard Boudin… So Great bread, nice selection of sandwiches, soups salads and really good pizzas. You wait in line to order they give you a number to put in the stand at a table then deliver your food when its ready. Watch for them sometimes they seem lost… The inside is nice with exposed brick walls, lots of dark wood and additional seating in a lofted area in the front. Staff seems to be friendly enough, though not as friendly as other Boudin branches I have been to. This doesn’t stop the lunch crowds, it can be hard to find a table. I would avoid the upstairs on a warm day, I was there on a cool day and it was to warm for comfort. I prefer the branches in Macy’s for better service and easier seating.

Feels weird to be at a Boudin without the smell of seafood from Fishermans’ wharf or the squawks of seagulls up above but this FiDi location is all business and getting business people fed fast. It’s a decent spot for lunch in the Fidi and they get you in and out of the door relatively quickly. The line is often out the door but it moves fairly quickly with multiple cashiers. Order online ahead of time if you’re in a rush. If you’re eating in, there’s extra seating upstairs which can be nice if you don’t want to feel hurried during your lunch break. Typical lunch fare of soups, salads, and sandwiches including SF staples like clam chowder and sourdough bread… or The Original San Francisco Sourdough™ to be precise. Half and half options are available too if you ant some variety. Nothing fancy but a dependable under $ 10 lunch option. I don’t ever really crave Boudin but wouldn’t be opposed if colleagues wanted to head there for lunch.

I got up at 5am to get my lady to the INS for her final interview and we were hungry. I decided to check this place for breakfast and we ordered the Denver Omelet.“I think they definitely put their hearts to serve you a tastier healthier food. They have us a lot of good food for 12 $. It is a bargain. 1-large scrabbled eggs. 2-large coffee. 3-Small OJ. 4-Two Huge slices of white weed sourdough toast. 5– Great service «I wish they would chop the vegetables a bit smaller, I personally don’t like big chunks of veggies on scrabble eggs.» But we left with our hearts thinking on returning over and over.

I finally ventured to a Boudin away from home today. I arrived early for a meeting and I figured, hey it’s right across the street and I haven’t eaten breakfast yet. Since it was around 11 am, there were only a few people out front and inside. The best part was that there was no line! I love chocolate croissants, but they don’t have any. No worries, I love all carbs so I just got a cheese bagel. The only reason why I don’t give it a glowing five stars is because they don’t have the Italian chopped salad! The one much closer to home has it, and I thought that Boudin was a chain? Nonetheless, the staff is friendly, the food is consistently good, and the seating is so cute– both inside and out! I almost want to visit all of the Bay Area locations now just to see what they’re like. I mean, what better excuse to eat tomato soup and sourdough bread?! Ok, now I want some soup and salad…
