The food there is good and the people are nice! One day, they had a new cook in the kitchen(and he was alone). Disorganization slowed everything down, but the owner graciously offered me and my coworkers desert: delicious tiramisu! I recommend their pasta of course.

came here on a Sunday around the afternoon time and ordered this pizza type thing with scrambled eggs on top with some cheese. i can’t recall why I chose that one but my stomach was pretty stoked and my hangover dissipated. haven’t tried the coffee but I’m sure it would have paired well with my meal

Directly across the street from Hall of Justice. I dropped in this morning prior to going to Traffic Court to see about a citation. I looked at the glass display case. Bagels, pastries, loaf cakes. The counter guy suggested the raspberry swirl crumb coffee cake so I went with that with a caffe latte. The coffee cake was good even though I’m sure it wasn’t made the same day as the crumbs were crumbs no more. They offer a full breakfast & lunch menu. Lots of tables and chairs.

Closest eatery place for a juror to land in. Hoping to relax with a good mouth watery lunch. Started out not friendly at all the moment I stepped in. Freakin cold and hard rock sandwich for $ 10.06 Next time I’ll bring my own frozen sandwich, probably taste better than that!

I love the way my clothes smell after leaving a coffee shop. Brings me back to the days of my barista career in college. Today I got that smell to stick to me for the better half of the afternoon. Why do I like Caffe Roma? Well, free Wi-Fi, super nice staff, food, and java java java! While on jury duty, one can begin to get a tad weary of the minute details of certain events that cannot be lamented to anyone during the trial, so to prevent my head from jerking awake during the sometimes dense cross examination, I rely on the smooth in house roasted coffee stylings of Caffe Roma to help get me through the more dense aspects of the trial. A small hot cup is like $ 1.85, which is good compared to anywhere else in the nearby area, trust me, I checked. I may get lunch as the food looks pretty decent, too. And there you have it.

This is the closest café to my office and they definitely come in clutch when I need a coffee and starbucks in 3 blocks away. I can’t wait to try some of their more interesting drinks(like the nutella latte!) I haven’t had much of their food yet either but probably will soon. The prices are a little high but with the court house next door business doesn’t seem to be a problem.

I found it while walking home from doing an errand and thought, ’ why not’? the non-fat latte was excellent, and the service was also excellent.

I started coming in to the café to get coffee on my way to work every morning about a month ago. I started going primarily because they have almond milk that I can put in my latte or coffees. At first I really liked the place, but then I realized how RUDE the employees are. The two guys that work there every weekday morning are the worst. I tried so many times to be extra peppy and polite and to do things like ask how they were doing or say«hope you have a good day! I really appreciate it» but I just got scowls and grunts back. They half ass everything basically throw their drinks at you. You can tell they hate their job and that bothers me because it’s not like I MADE you work here. I hope their employers and they both personally read this because they are extremely unpleasant and should not be allowed to work there. I decided today that I would rather go far out of my way to get a coffee then to encounter them in the morning. Oh yeah, NEVER get one of their raw smoothies: it was DISGUSTING!!!

Jury duty was being a drag and I was hoping to make the most out of my break. Read some awesome reviews about this place and decided to give it a shot. It was super clean and nice inside, a real good environment as compared to what’s in between here and the Hall of Justice across the street. So 1 star for that. Another star for the friendly woman behind the counter who was patient while I decided what to get. I went simple and asked for an iced vanilla latte. Unfortunately they ran out of vanilla so she offered alternatives. I saw Hazelnut and thought hey, that should be good. The first few sips weren’t bad, I actually thought I liked it. But after maybe 4 – 5 sips it was disgusting! The hazelnut syrup tasted almost metallic-y and did not settle nicely in my mouth. It was making me gag and I immediately threw it away. Not sure what went wrong! :(as over exaggerated as it sounds, it was terrible.

Not as busy as most coffee places but still good quality. Serves snacks and Anthony’s cookies sometimes too!

+5 stars for the coffee and the barista –3 stars for the sandwich maker counter server I get my morning coffee here, the beans for my home and a few times I have ordered a bagel with just butter to go. This morning I asked if they could put the butter on the toasted bagel instead of the usual couple of butter chips in the bag. That way the butter would melt. Paid for my coffee and bagel and dropped a 1.50 tip in the jar. As I stood waiting for 15 minutes I noticed my bagel sitting on the counter while the sandwich guy competed a bunch of other orders. I politely asked him how my bagel was coming along and he replied that is was«behind some other orders». I was surprised as of all the people in there I had been there the longest. Apparently they had gotten some phone orders while I was there and he was doing those first while my bagel sat getting cold. I asked if he could just put the butter on it as I was now late for work and he said he had to complete the to go orders first. I then asked him to bag my bagel«as is» without the butter and he replied, «if you want a special order you have to wait longer for it» Really, how long does it take to spread a little butter on a bagel and how long should one be expected to wait for it? No apology for the wait, nothing. It’s now 20+ minutes for a bagel with butter. Kinda wanted my tip back after that…

overpriced, but probably the only acceptable spot to get coffee whilst doing your civic duty. ugh, the wretchedness of jury duty. cards accepted but minimum $ 5. this is easy since a damn Anthony’s cookie is $ 2.50 and a cappuccino will cost you about the same, if not a bit more. lots of light, free WiFi, and clean. the crackheads stay outta this joint.(they’re probably all in McDs)

Paid $ 13 for a «shrimp and lentil» salad. It was a bowl of spring mix with maybe a quarter cup of lentils on top. And, oh yeah, almost forgot, FIVE. tiny. shrimp. …thirteen bucks. Enough said.

Decent food poor service. Ordered a vegetarian sandwich with side salad. The sandwich was so so and the side salad provided much confusion for the staff resulting in me having to request it much later as it never came. For $ 13 I would happily spend my money elsewhere. For a quick coffee it will work, but a nice lunch? No.

Sort of yeah. America! Americana! Ham, apple chutney, caramelized onions, brie and spinach on a roll. Unless you ask for turkey, caramelized onions and spinach on wheat bread. Appreciated the customization. Too bad they were out of the chutney and hummus. Mostly my fault for a 3pm lunch. Gentleman helping me couldn’t have been nicer. Ginger cookie was a delicious snap. But also overpriced at $ 3. WiFi worked in fits and starts. Four stars for some things(service and sandwich potential), two stars for others(cookie pricing and WiFi). Sort of deserves three.

Brought my car to Bryant St and it was expected to take longer than I thought. A couple hours! So I had no where to go with nothing to do. I’m glad I randomly chose to chill here. Small white peppermint hot chocolate(I’m not a big coffee fan but I’m into holiday drinks) for $ 3.15. Nice, hot, and calming. Plus public wifi(from the Hall of Justice across the street, I’m guessing) which is perfect. I can’t complain. Much more comfortable than walking around in the cold going no where.

First trip to my new around-the-corner coffee spot. I wish it was because someone hired me and I was power-suiting it up on a court recess, but alas, I was merely getting the keys to my new place in SOMA! Unfortunately, I was not super impressed with Café Roma. The whole placed smelled like an over-used panini press that had recently burned a cheesy sandwich. On a hot day, this was unpleasant. The coffee is ok. Not super impressed. A medium coffee, a large iced tea, and a bottled Calistoga water cost something like $ 6 and some change. The staff was friendly, and one of the gentlemen was a regular Dongiovanni, flashing his little smile and saying«Grazie» to every regazza that entered. Again, cheesy. And on a hot day, this too was unpleasant. Free wifi is cool, but my computer automatically hooked up to the SFO public network, thanks to 850 Bryant. This is the closest I will have ever lived to a coffee shop, I think. Also, this is the closest I will have ever lived to a jail!

This small local chain has locations in North Beach and Millbrae. I think people come here because there’s nothing better. It’s clean, service is okay, and the space looks decent. But everything is expensive, and food quality is only average(my opinion). I wish there was a Starbucks, Tully’s, Peet’s or Blue Bottle coffee instead. Supposedly WiFi is free, but I’ve never got a valid signal on my PDA.
