This review is based only on their shakes which is a-mazing! I had the Nutella milkshake and it never fails to hit the right spot(my tummy and thighs to be specific. Lol). The view was great too. We were seated near the window and had a nice view of union square. Will definitely go back.

Yummy alcoholic milkshakes at the Burger Bar! Yes those milkshakes bring all the boys(and girls) to the yard. Hahaha… But no seriously, those milkshakes are dang yummy. My bff and I came here for lunch on a Sunday night a couple of weeks ago after the wedding faire at the Westin. We had the following: Wings & skinny fries — yummy Onion rings — pretty good, but I’m biased cause I’m not really a fan of onion rings Mozzarella sticks — yummy Red Velvet Milkshake — mmm yummmy Irish Coffee Milkshake — she said hers was yummy as well Everything’s good, but it’s a bit pricier, but what do you expect of a burger place in a Macy’s in Union Square. Plus, the view is nice to look at.

We wandered in here after seeing the atrociously long line at The Cheesecake Factory, and we were pleasantly surprised. The ciabatta bun is delicious, and I would definitely recommend getting the aioli — it was to die for! We ended up dipping everything into it. Their fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings were also delicious. For dessert, we got the whimsical cheesecake burger, which was yummy! The cheesecake taste was spot on. The only downside is that this place is pretty expensive.

Super yummy, but also super expensive. I come here for a burger fix on special occasions and have never been disappointed. Only a little shocked when the bill comes but that’s OK because we know what we are getting into and its always good quality food and super delicious. They have fun options for your burger and the yummiest jalapeño bacon. And I can’t forget to mention the reason behind my love, the truffle mayo! A must and so good I keep coming back for it. They also have a gluten free bun available which is a big plus. A fun place to try when shopping at Macy’s or just in the area.

Overpriced and touristy. Banking on their location and the view. Quality of food not that great. The views are wonderful– try to sit buy the window if you can. The burgers aren’t terrible, they’re fine(hard to really mess up a burger) however for the $$ not really worth it.

Been here once for a company event, and twice to get take out. I’ll start with the first experience. Great burger place when eating in. Love the meat, it melts in your mouth. The add on toppings are great as well ! They have a few selections and you can always create your own burger. I ordered the sliders to-go with fries twice. Both times, the fries were COLD! I was so not impressed. The ranch is amazing! The fries were disappointing when I got take out. Sliders were somewhat cold, and wasn’t that great either. But for higher quality food, its better to get a regular sized burger and also eating in rather than doing to-go. Great view from the location, over looking union square!

This little chain serves burgers invented by Hubert Keller — a SF legend for french gourmet cuisine. You can select your ingredients from a huge list. Cooking is good, service is fine, drinks are above average. Good

Bad food, bad service, bad prices, and long wait! Everything about this place is No, No, No, and No. First and most important, the burgers were bland, disgusting, not juicy, not tasty, thin, and way below average. We ordered the Kobe burger($ 17.75) and the American Classic burger($ 15.75), both cooked medium. The menu claims the Kobe burger is a Wagyu patty that is «tender, melts in your mouth, and has unmatched flavor.» The Kobe burger I got was nothing like that at all. It was dry, bland, burnt on the outside, and had no flavor. It also does not come with any sides. The American Classic burger has Angus beef, American cheese, and bacon. It also tasted plain, dry, and ordinary. It came with skinny fries, but the fries tasted old, chewy, and previously frozen for too long. Service was almost non-existent. I needed ketchup to wash down my bland burgers, but we almost finished eating before the waitress would come check on us. Also, the hostess told us the wait would be about 45 minutes, but ended up being closer to an hour and a half. Even towards the end, I went up to the hostess to check and they said 10 more minutes, but after 20 minutes, they still had not text me. I seriously cannot believe people are waiting one and a half hours to eat the worst, overpriced burgers ever. The only decent thing is the view. Burger Bar is on the 6th floor of the downtown Macy’s building and if you get a seat in the bar area, there is a nice view of Union Square. It’s a high tourist area, but a VERYBAD representation of San Francisco eats. There are lots and lots of great restaurants in SF, but this is NOT one. I could think of many great burger restaurants in SF and Sac that could take over this valuable space and put Hubert Keller’s restaurant and burgers to shame.

Way over priced for the quality of the food. I ordered the peppercorn burger and everyone else at my table ordered the Kobe beef burger. The bottom bun on all of the orders were soggy as soon as it was served to us… We all took off the bottom bun because it was too gross to eat. The beef was NOT juicy and it was burnt on most of our orders. Extremely disappointed because each of us paid 20+ dollars for mediocre patties and terrible buns. Sure it was a great location that overlooked union square, but we were so excited for the burgers(because the wait was ridiculously long– 1&½ hours) and was let down. Good things: location and they will text you when your table is ready so you can go shopping while you wait!

No wonder there are only 3 stars… Chris, who was doing a terrible job as our sever. Apparently, he was too lazy to separate our checks between 3 credit cards. Really?! He had us calculate our own bills, write down the amount(including the tax) next to the last 4 digits of our cards. Never heard of such nonsense. We spent minutes doing our own calculations until he realized he was able to separate the bill on the pos AFTER it was finalized. AREYOUFREAKENKIDDINGME? The fact that he didn’t even make an effort to figure out how to separate our bills to begin with. Do your damn job. The one star is strictly to the server, not Burger Bar. I just hope the rest of the servers are better trained. ***I ordered the Kobe burger. It would’ve tasted better if the server asked me how I liked my burger(he didn’t ask me how I want it cooked) cause mine came out over cooked when I’d typically prefer it medium rare and what type of fries I’d prefer(he assumed I wanted skinny fries, when there were fat fries). Overall, it wasn’t too bad but it could’ve been better and customer service totally sucked a$$!!!

Yummy food! Got the Kobe burger with cheddar cheese on an onion bun. My hubby got the turkey burger w cheddar on a jalapeño bun. Took off a star since they charged us for the jalapeño bun and that wasn’t an extra charge! Check your receipt. The burgers are expensive as it is so don’t need extra costs.

I came here with a group of friends from South Florida in town for a pharmacy conference back in October… I know I’m a little late on the review but had to share my experience! We came in on a Saturday night and found this place to be pretty packed, but got lucky finding enough seats at the bar where we could squeeze in. As soon as we sat down we we’re greeted by a waiter, and then a couple minutes after by the shift manager as well and taken care of really well. It was nice to see service on point when the establishment looked like it was at about maximum capacity. Again the service was so on point we even had someone who had too many drinks bothering our table and they had him escorted out and resolved the problem swiftly. As for the food all the burgers we ordered came out to perfection! I remember ordering the Kobe burger, JJ recommended it to me since I couldn’t decide on what to order… everything looked so delicious! The result? That Kobe burger is one of the best Kobe burgers I’ve ever had! Also they have a pretty solid selection of beers, craft beers, and liquors as well too! Again big thanks to JJ helping us out and making us feel welcomed. Some other cool features about this spot is the view by the window is really nice. Also in the menu I noticed they have alcoholic shakes… Didn’t get to try these out but they sound like a hit! If I end up in San Fran again anytime soon I’ll definitely come back and visit. Really had a great experience here at Burger Bar!

Macy’s 6 Stock. Da muss man/frau hin
