Belle Cora was a pleasant surprise! We stopped in while waiting the hour for Sotto Mare across the street and were treated with friendly service and delicious pretzels(A MUST) :)

Let me tell you about the mac n cheese. It’s just perfect. And then there is the chicken which was insanely good too. But then you come here for brunch and have the most melt in your mouth french toast. Fabulous. But seriously though the pretzel’s here are to die for. My roommate gets mad at me if I go here and don’t bring her home a pretzel. Great place for groups, we’ve been able to fit a big crew here for brunch and for dinner! The staff is also super friendly and helpful. So excited about this place! I’ll be back:)

Food/drink Red wine Mac n cheese — mac n cuz was ok nothing crazy special but I do have a soft spot for it They have full bar and bar food Service Actually have table service which is nice. Bartender was nice and attentive to refills and checking up Atmosphere I’ve walked by before and was drawn to it maybe for the small patio seating the basic cozy vibe of it. Good place to chill with a drink and snack. In the middle of north beach so plenty of other restaurants and things to walk around to.

Came here last night expecting one thing but was surprised by another. The service was great and the beer and wine were all affordable and good! I got to meet one of the owners who is a big history buff like me and we spoke about the name of place and ended up having a great chat. I also like that the owners wants to have local authors, artist, etc… Come to Belle Cora for live music, book signings and much more! Over all the place was great and full of Barbary Coast History I would definitely recommend this place if you wanna have a great time with good people in a great environment. Also they have a couple of great books for sale about Bell Cora I recommend you pick one up for a good read.

Outdoor seating with heat lamps and very dog friendly! Water bowls and treats for the 4 legged friends. Wine list is complex, yet affordable in this neighborhood wine bar. The tunes are jazzy, hip-hop and sports on the TV. I love getting a glass of wine here after walking the dog and relaxing. My fav are the Nebbio Nebbiola d’alba and cries melbec. The food is amazing too. The ceviche is EPIC… get two. Trust me! Yum. In vine Veritas

This was a nice place to go get drinks after dinner. The environment is swanky and open — there are lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The cost of wines and beers is average for the city — Wines ~$ 8−12/glass and Beers are $ 6−9/bottle. There isn’t much of a food selection because it is a limited kitchen. The service was spectacular. I would rate it 3 stars because there was only one waitress serving the entire place and it was clear she was swamped. Her effort was clear and she was very sincere. Everything took 10x longer because the place was understaffed. She was running around the entire time and I think management should consider hiring another person to meet the number of customers that are coming on a Friday night!

We ended up here accidentally on a quick trip and loved it. The ceviche is a wonderful mix of subtle flavors with not too much spice. Wine menu offered a great choice of rose which is usually lacking. Outdoor heat on patio was a nice way to enjoy the waning summer without being too chilly. Highly recommend asking bartender Nils for best wines by the glass to pair with apps.

Sadly, we ended up leaving after waiting forever to get service outside. They were clearly understaffed for a Thursday night. We’ll give it a try another time because this is a neighborhood establishment that we were hoping to love. Please consider additional staffing… every table was filled outside with just one server.

Great space, updated nicely. A comfortable place to have a bite and a lovely glass of wine with a friend. The wine selection is outstanding and the food is tasty. Have tried the Mac and cheese with broccoli and the pretzel in the evening and both were great, fantastic cheese flavor. And the eggs Benedict for brunch are done perfectly. The service is very friendly. Love it, will be a regular stop in the neighborhood.

Best new wine and beer spot in North Beach! The wine and beer selection is great and they offer plenty of outdoor seating. Make sure to make it a stop on your next time out in North Beach!

Time: 6:18pm/71°F sunny Purpose: Ever since Dell’Uva said they were closing up, I kept tabs with soon to be Belle Cora people. Went by a few times while in transition phase checking up with them. Ambiance: Makeshift sidewalk area seating sits about 20+ with heating lamps. Inside a 10 person bar with repurpose wood counter facing a three panel mirror. Two flatscreen tv tuck in corners with muted volume. Espresso machine and spouts for tap beer/wine along with two touch screen registers. Rest of the place two corner high booth seating with couple of close-together tables and more mirror panels. Color scheme of burgundy and dark wood panels gives this place a warm inviting feel. Staff: One bartender in his mid 30s kinda kept to himself. I made eye contact and sat down, but be continued finishing his task. About 45 seconds later he walks over acknowledge me. This time making sure when he disappeared he’ll be back with my beer so, I order right away. He came back with my drink then went about his duties. I took a few sips look over saw small bite menu. Signal bartender back to take my order. This time around he was cool took order right away. No problem there after first run in earlier. Cleanliness: Grade A, impeccable no problems seems clean inside and outside. Most patrons are mature well behave 30 and over crowd. Couple of back of house workers wiping down near bar counter as well as inside common areas, seen through small window of two-way kitchen door. Eats/Drinks: Soft pretzel plate 2pcs/$ 11 comes with three dipping options. Whole grain mustard, sweet mustard and melted cheese. These were the best that I’ve in years. Each one baked perfectly with dark brown color, crispy and salty crust. Rock salt pebbles had the right amount on each side. Gently pulling it apart revealed soft and fluffy dough. Of the three dipping, I like the melted cheese and sweet mustard as whole grain was just a bit too much for me. Later they told me its direct from Germany. Products/Services: See pictures of beer/wine and small lite bite dishes along with pricing. Takes plastic(no minimum). Punch Lines: Heart of NB, within step of Chinatown, accessible by muni bus, limited small dishes, no full kitchen(coming soon), local/regional beer and wine, by the glass or bottle, sidewalk seating, furbaby friendly, always buzzing, wood paneling, warm and elegant, people watching, afternoon meet up, street parking/private lot. Tradeoffs: No real food to pair with fabulous beer and wine selection. Just finger food. However, you’re welcome to BYO treats provided that you’ll buy a drink from them. Final Thoughts: Now as for as the 1850s goes, I don’t know and was born yet. However, I do remember a Belle Cora book I’ve pick up. In short brief description Belle Cora a madam was married to Charles Cora a prominent gambler while he was jailed. They were merried two days before the vigilante committee hang him. Sounds like a Bonnie and clyde duo? Anyways a great place to kill some time while waiting for RSVP nearby restaurant or simply time to yourself. Holding out on that elusive perfect score of 5/stars till more offerings are introduce which I’ll update when it do happen. Ok, my RSVP is in 5 minutes, thanks for stopping by…

Think I have a new local hangout! Belle Cora just opened a week or so ago! It is a new Beer/Wine Bar that replaced the old Delluva Wine Bar. Not to be mistaken w/it’s former resident, Belle Cora has it’s own unique style and identity — as they are establishing themselves as not only being a comfortable place to hangout(with it’s outside seating — which is great for people watching!) and inside lounge booths/window tables/bar counter seating — but also a place that encourages repeat visitors among locals(with it’s reasonable wine bottle/glass pricing and plethora of unique beer offerings on draft and bottles). The food is lighter fare and features charcuterie and cheese platters as well as unique items such as German pretzels(that are actually flown in from Germany!) served with German bratwurst. Have a dog? Bring your pooch and find a comfy spot for you and Fido to people watch in their outdoor seating.(And make Jeanine’s day… she is the fantastic waitress who LOVES dogs!) All in all, this is shaping up to be a local North Beach mainstay… and will surely become a local fave.

It’s finally here. The owner of Tupelo, which is just around the corner down Grant, has opened this food & wine spot in the former Dell Uva space. The«food» part of this is light fare. They’re working w a limited kitchen, so it’s all small plates. The«wine» part of this is beer & wine only. The great part of this? It’s all good food & good wine. It’s nice & small. Seats maybe 38? That’s including outside. Crab tower anyone? Dreamy bacon mac & cheese? How about pretzels flown in from Germany? Yes, I said it. Yes, they actually do it. Never being one to turn down a good pretzel, even one that hasn’t been flown in from Germany, of course I had to order one. The fact that we’d already had dinner less than 20 minutes before was not enough to dissuade me. This beauty arrives w 3 dipping sauces. Crisp outside, soft & chewy inside, it had the right consistency. Our table loved the cheese sauce the best. There are 2 pretzel dishes to choose from. One solo, the other is accompanied w bratwurst. Of course. Throw in the aforementioned very good wine & beer, & you’ve got a quintessential neighborhood joint. Service didn’t even bat an eye when my friend accidentally knocked over her wine glass. They handled it w straight up finesse. A rockstar staff. I’ve heard a bit about Belle Cora, & I’ll just say that she led a most colorful life. North Beach has a great new food & wine spot. 5 stars.

I was a big fan of Dell Uva and was very sad when it closed. This space is such a great location in North Beach! The concept here is quite simple: wine and beer only for drinks and small plates to snack on. This is a great place to have happy hour or to grab a drink and a snack before a late reservation. We decided to pop in after a heavy dinner for a night cap. The service was prompt and welcoming. I asked them about brunch and other specials they plan to have. I’m excited to pieces to try their bottomless mimosa brunch. This establishment still does not have a full kitchen, so don’t expect a full gourmet dinner.(Besides, there are many places in the neighborhood that have full dinners covered!)

Fantastic atmosphere, awesome welcoming owners and staff. The food menu looks so inventive and the beer and wine selection are first rate! Love the outside seating area with the heat lamps outside to enjoy sitting outside and people watching on one of the best blocks in SF! The bar and tables are made of a gorgeous redwood tree that have been reclaimed. They show old movies on the TVs which is so classy, just like this space! Love the name of the bar too, so cool!!!(From 1852 until 1855, Belle Cora, whoremistress extraordinaire, was queen of San Francisco’s social roost. She had arrived from New Orleans in 1849 with her gambler consort Charles, and the two of them had toured the gold country boom towns, amassing a fortune from their respective specialties, prostitution and gambling. By 1853, Belle was the City’s première madam. Her sumptuous parlor house at Dupont and Washington streets offered the most beautiful women that money could buy; her prices were the City’s highest; and her customers included most of San Francisco’s leading citizens. Belle was known as the most expensively dressed woman in town). This place is going to be a SF institution!!!

Welcome Belle Cora! What a beautiful upgrade. Amazing beer and wine menu. Food options are light and pair excellent with the drink menu. I see a bright future for this pleasant addition to the North Beach landscape.
