I’ve been going here on a regular basis for a year now, but this is a business that can be used as a reference point regarding the decline of the younger generation and education. Knowing that a NY dog is $ 4.75, I had my $ 20 bill along with my three quarters with me to hand to the lovely young lady. I’m expecting $ 16 back as change. Nope. She started to argue with me that I gave her 2 quarters too many and that I need to accept my $ 15 change. So I quizzed her that if I handed her $ 20.75 for a hot dog that’s $ 4.75, what should I be getting back. Sorry to puzzle her. Eventually the person who was lying down behind her in the cart got up and explained it to her. I’m generous enough to add an extra star since hey, at least she was cute. I also placed that initially withheld $ 1 into the tip jar in hopes that it’ll contribute to her much needed-education fund!

definitely not the same as a NYC cart. But as far as your decent basic dog goes this cart is as good as most you’ll find in SF. Nice quality meat, bun, and ‘tard makes for a great snack on the run.

What happens when I go to OTG at Civic Center and all the food trucks they have on site are not wowing me at the moment? That’s what happened last Friday. The gourmet food trucks that were there last week were Bacon, Bacon; Ebbets, Libio Falafel, Señor Sisig and Curry Up Now and I just wasn’t feeling it with any of them. Okay, I did not want to go elsewhere(a few blocks away) when I was directly across the street from my office building. It’s Friday and I wanted something ASAP. Thus, in honor of the late Andy Griffith(passed away last month) in his role as Ben Matlock, criminal lawyer in Atlanta, GA, and his favorite lunch(hot dog from a stand), the best option was a hot dog from Annie’s Hot Dog Cart. I had the all beef(San Francisco) with red onion relish and mustard, and a bottle of refreshing raspberry tea. The«dog» was quite tasty and had a nice fresh crispy snap to it. The usual condiments to dress the«dogs» were readily available, but I sure did not pass up on that red onion relish… absolutely delish. The vendor was pleasant and friendly, and the service was quick… no long lines… love it.

The thing about food trucks/carts is that they might move. Annie’s Hot Dog Cart. .. please don’t go, ever. Located right across the street from City Hall along with a few other excellent food trucks, Annie serves a good/basic selection of dogs and drinks. Seems a little silly, but the way that the onions are chopped — nice and small — illustrates the care with which the food is offered. The dog I had was very tasty. Service was excellent. With five trucks in that location, if I worked at City Hall, Annie’s would be a perfect candidate for a weekly rotation of food truck culinary delights.
