Absolutely loved the food as well as the kind service, tov tofu has to be the best Korean restaurant that I have been to in California. It was a great experience and I know for sure that I will be coming back with all of my friends!

Excellent! I’m so glad we found another Korean restaurant to visit ever since Bear Korean closed in Cotati. That place was only«meh,» anyway. I spent a year living in Korea and am pretty invested in finding good Korean places to eat at. Oakland and LA are the California winners for diverse and delicious Korean food, so it’s always a pleasure to find a good Korean spot that isn’t an hour away. This place is very classy, though I felt we were always too close to the door since there are two entrances and the restaurant isn’t very large. Not sure that feeling can be avoided. We went in for an early dinner and the first good sign was that the entire restaurant clientele was Korean families. Boding good, so far. Anyhow, we ordered just two plates:(seafood pancake) and the bulgogi. I was hungry and my wife not so much, and even with those two dishes(and the side dishes) we still had some food to take home. The seafood pancake was about the best I’ve had in the US, and the bulgogi was very good. Great texture, though my only complaint is that the onions were a bit much for me. Personal preference, not a reflection of the restaurant. Service was friendly, tea was good, and prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely be going back to check out some other menu items. Beware, parking in this lot(shared with a Whole Paycheck) can be a challenge.

I am a somewhat recent former Bay Area implant to Sonoma County. When I was in the Bay Area, I lived in the thick of Oakland’s Koreatown. I was surrounded by great Korean food. I quickly learned of the sad state of affairs when it comes to ethnic food in the 707, especially where I live in Monte Rio area. I tried the«Korean» Fusion-y spot in Guernville, which wasn’t to my liking, Was glad to find another spot here. Glad to say, their food is on par with the stuff I was eating in Koreatown. I asked for Spice level of «spicy» and it comes«spicy». my only complaint is they offer only 6 kinds of BanChan. I am used to at least a dozen kinds,. Also, at every Korean place I went to in Koreatown Oakland, they will always ask you if you wanted more Banchan. I believe Tov Tofu does not offer refills of it, added to the fact they only offer 6 kinds, I often leave hungry

Best korean restaurant in the north bay. Honestly can’t get enough of this place. I love their soft tofu soup. It’s so flavorful and I usually get the mild spicy also their Bibimbap is delicious as well as their dumplings. The food is simple yet flavorful.

The Bulgogi and Kalbi are good. The restaurant and staff are nice. Overall, for this specific area, it’s probably the best Korean BBQ I’ve had. I came from the East Coast from a Korean dominant neighborhood, where Korean BBQ had to be top notch, so I know the traditional food well. This place is good and worth a try.

BESTNORTHERNBAYKOREANFOODBYFAR! I was craving some Soondubu and Soban in Petaluma wasn’t very good for Soondubu when I had it there previously so, we drove half an hour to try this place out. My husband got the Galbi and I got the mushroom Soondubu. Needless to say, I ordered one to go for lunch tomorrow, it was THAT good! The kimchi is also so fresh and delicious! Staff was also extremely nice and friendly, very attentive and very clean! The waitress literally was cleaning underneath the tables! I am impressed and I can only imagine how clean the kitchen must be. I do not even have one complaint or suggestion for the restaurant and I will definitely be coming back in the near future.

Service was excellent, and the food was good, as always. I’d like to see a bit more protein in the vegetarian bibimbap. The seafood bibimbap could be a lot better with some fresh, local seafood, instead of or in addition to the tiny(canned?) shrimp and a few squid tentacles. Very conscientious and informative if you have someone who’s gluten intolerant in your party.

The kimchee was plain(the portion given was too little for three big grown men). The seafood bimbimbap was OK; not spectacular. The seafood pancakes were excellent.

I’ve been dying to try this place for a while. Finally was able to come by with my wife, who was hesitant as she didn’t know what to expect. We were both very pleased. We were shocked at how rich and flavorful everything was(I admit neither of us has eaten much real Korean food). The vegetable pancakes were very good, and much larger than we were expecting. Unfortunately we didn’t have as much room for our dinners because we polished off that pancake. I had the Kimchi soft tofu soup, and my wife had a bibimbap. I now understand what people were saying about searing their mouths… Both dishes were literally crackling from the heat. I’ve never been served soup still boiling before, but I suppose that’s how you want it if you are going to crack a raw egg into it tableside. The Ban Chan were good as well… I think out of the 5 or 6, there was only one we didn’t particular care for. Service — Very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Amazing Korean food. I lived in Korea for many years and it definitely stacks up to what I use to eat in Seoul. Service has always been good during lunch time. The kimchi is yummy yummy yummy!!!

I think this is probably the only Korean restaurant in Santa Rosa and it’s pretty good! It’s not a Korean BBQ place but they do have pretty good spicy pork. The kimchi bibimbap is pretty great as well! It doesn’t have very much meat, but it’s loaded with veggies and is served piping hot! The service is also pretty good! The waitresses are very sweet and friendly!

This is slowly but surely becoming one of my favorite food places. I love Korean and they’re food is good. The service is really nice. Definitely recommend. I also love the fact that there’s a Korean food place in Santa Rosa and I don’t have to drive to San Francisco just to get food. Must check it out.

Unilocal has failed me this time. There isn’t much Asian cuisine in Santa Rosa. Korean sounded good and from the reviews it seem that this would be a treat. From the lack of service to the food. It was sub par at best. It was a slow friday night. I should have been clued in from the lack of guest. We came in with a family with little children and i wanted to sit away from the door the hostess/waitress said no and directed us to a table that was a little tight for my family. I asked if we could sit somewhere else and she said no. Great typical Asian courtesy or please do it my way. Service was slow and there were only 2 tables going. I can take all the above if the food was superb but it lack flavor. When I asked for more condiment, she hesitated to give more. She questioned me in a manner not like she did understand but in a manner of are you kidding me. I didnt care if she had to charge me extra like McDonald if i wanted extra sauce but i didnt need that attitude. So blah food blah service blah korean restaurant all around. It would have been better if i just went to Panada Express and that just plain sad for me to say.

I thought I wouldn’t be much of a fan of this restaurant as I don’t eat red meat or like vinegary flavors, but I was wrong. We’ve been here now a couple of times and tried several things off the menu and found everything to be yummy. I especially enjoyed the veggie pancake and everyone at the table wanted more after I shared some. We also liked all the small little taster plates which came complementary before the meal. The service was friendly and efficient.

Cold and rainy outside? Mild case of the Mondays? A little hungover? No matter what ailments you’ve accrued, the remedy is simple: spicy beef noodle soup at Tov Tofu. A small, unassuming restaurant tucked away near Whole Foods houses some seriously delicious food. The fried dumplings are fantastic, all the accessories they bring out to dress up your dish are fresh and tasty, but most importantly… that sear your tongue, warm your soul and set your belly on fire Spicy Beef Soup is a must try. The rain will dissipate, your Monday will get better and you’ll be back in action for the next happy hour.

For the lack of Korean restaurants in Santa Rosa, Tov Tofu is doing a decent job in satisfying our jones for standard Korean fare such as specialty tofu soups, BBQs and bibimbaps. It does seem odd that while there is a plethora of other Asian restaurants in the area, there seems to be a dearth of Korean eateries. TT puts up a valiant effort to fill the inadequacy. I saw the immaculately clean interior and noticed the newly remodeled décor with mahogany colored hardwood floor and matching tabletops. Reassured by the good Unilocal reviews and driven by our cravings, we stumbled in. As with any Korean restaurant, we started off with six complimentary sides of banchan. Most were lackluster; sadly even the kimchi was unremarkable! It wasn’t sour and tangy enough for my taste and I suspect it came from a jar! Then, there were the overly sweetened deep fried potatoes, the mayo-laden broccoli, the unimaginative spicy takuan(daikon) and bean sprouts soaked with sesame oil. All these were forgettable. I have to admit though my favorite of the lot was the savory slices of fish cakes which were quite good. . Thank God my disappointment of the banchan was short lived! The soondobu(soft tofu soup) was a classic example of unexpected flavor combinations yielding delightful sensations. We opted for the Assorted Mushrooms($ 10.95)… a trio of button mushrooms, enoki and shitake. The server cracked the egg, dropped it into the steaming mini cauldron(actually a stoneware pot) and the soup looked like bubbling volcanic lava about to erupt and spillover. The theatrics certainly woke me up, not to mention the hot, savory and spicy tastes that perked up my energy! TT deserved due credit on a well executed soup. The Seafood and Green Onion Pancake($ 14.50) was like a small pie with squid-stuffed goodness and then deep-fried until crunchy. It came with a sweet and sour soy dipping sauce, which exponentially enhanced the flavor. The pancake was not greasy at all, which added another feather on TT’s cap. Yes, Kalbi($ 14.50) was finger licking good! Korean BBQ beef short ribs were marinated in a mixture of soy, chopped garlic and sugar and grilled usually over an open fire to a mahogany brown. They were nestled on top of a bed of sautéed onions on a sizzling platter leaving a trail of mouth-watering aroma. Unless you’re a vegetarian or vegan, any self-respecting carnivore regardless of ethnic background would love these ribs! There was this delicious BBQ flavor and you can chew, suck and gnaw on the bones. Bibimbap is as Korean as Sukiyaki is Japanese. TT served Seafood Dolsot Bibimbap($ 14.50) and consisted of a simple meal of rice, veggies, seafood(squids and shrimps), egg and a delicious Korean chili paste called«gochujang». The dolsot is a hot stone pot that leaves a bottom layer of crispy rice and causes all the flavors to rise upwards with the steam. Typically, a raw egg is cracked and the stone’s heat cooks it. TT seemed to skip the egg. The secret to the taste was the special gochujang… no other homemade chili sauce or sriracha can cut it. Truthfully, TT’s rendition of all the above Korean fare deserved 3-stars as it did leave me gratified. There were no one else playing this game in this town. By being the pioneer and assuming all the business risks, TT deserved an additional star to make it to 4!

Small portion. stingy on re-filling the banchan. When i ask for refill, she only replace one item, and i had to ask her again to replace another one. As soon as i asked for the 2nd refill of another banchan, she brought the bill in, didn’t ask if we want anything else… We ordered Stonepot bibimbop, there is like a few thin piece of beef, and my soodobu with beef is also with very little of meat. Disappointed and will never go back. Do not recommend!

I live in RP and frequented Bear Korean in Cotati, but since they closed I searched and found Tov Tofu. I believe it is now the ONLY korean spot in the area. Tov Tofu is a small & clean spot. Their banchan is good and never looks reused. Service is always friendly too. I always order the Yuk Gae Jang(Spicy Beef Soup), and atlhough its not as good as my beloved Bear Koreans, it quells my craving. Beggers cant be choosers!

Best place to get Korean food in Sonoma. Okay, that’s not too hard to do since the competition isn’t too high — however, there’s definitely a void of good Asian food and if you have the need for Korean food, this is the place. Short ribs, bulgolgi, soft tofu soup… pretty authentic. The portions are not as much as Han Il Guan in SF but again, if you have a need, this is the place to go. Come early as it gets busy quickly.

Best place to get Korean food in Sonoma County Owned by a friendly Korean family and friends who are very nice. Service is good. Food is good and comes in big portions. Price is reasonable, not the inexpensive range you find in the Bay Area but not ridiculously expensive either. Then again Korean food is typically not that inexpensive anyway. Tofu soup, bulgogi, spicy pork, seafood pancake and spicy squid dishes are fantastic. Need to try them.
