Talbot’s

The management of this store in the past few months is horrible.
I have personally been a retail manager for 12 years and I can’t understand what manager would allow there associates to be so catty to the customers. They help you then walk away and secretly talk about you with their other associates. NOT OKAY!
They were a great store in early 2014 with this cute shorter girl with glasses as the assistant manager and Erika (a fellow manager/​hard worker) as the manager.
Since they have transitioned there is a blonde in charge and a continuously happy yet condescending and uniformed assistant. She constantly says «I don’t know,» while smiling like nothing is wrong. Something is wrong and she is not helping the situation. Also, saying «Have a great day,» when someone leaves the store is a nice thing to do but not when the transaction didn’t go well and the customer is mad. Then it is just mean and she knows it.
I don’t know how these two got to where they are in retail. Unbelievable.
I will shop online fro now on and if I have any returns i will make the trek to Corte Madera rather than deal with this Santa Rosa location.

My Mom who shopped here for a lot of her clothes died recently. After she died in late May, we emptied out her senior apartment and took all her belongings back to her house. Then on weekends we started going through things to try to determine what to do with some of her belongings. We found 2 blouses from Talbots my Mom never got around to wearing, with tags attached and the receipt. My sister went to return the blouses and they would not take them back due to the fact they were 3 days over their return date. Even after it was explained that my Mom had recently died. Still no. And from the same woman who had come out to the parking lot with clothing to show my Mom and have her try them on since she was getting weak and couldn’t actual go into the store to shop at that point. (That was great service, this last part is not. I’m actually adding the second star for that previous service, otherwise it would only be one star.)
It is understandable for stores to have rules about returns, I get it. But really, it seems like this rule could have been bent at this time.

In summary, I was in dire need of a business suite, and my neighbor recommended this place for suites that might fit me (petite small woman sizes).
I went to look for suites with my family, and the service was excellent. Wendy gave me phenomenal service. She asked me what kind of suite I was looking for, what the suite was for, and she gave me lots of helpful tips. Wendy also walked me through the process of finding my perfect suite, since this was my first time buying a nice suite.
The clothes itself, they were expensive, but compared to the other suites I tried on today, Talbot’s petite woman’s trouser suite pants made my butt look more flattering than suite pants at the other stores (I have a small butt).
The suites and clothes at this store was classy, and I would have never imagined shopping here until today. After seeing the styles and receiving great service, I highly recommend this place to anyone, especially to all the petite women.
