Sweet T’s is such a necessary and welcome addition to the Santa Rosa restaurant scene. It offers slightly more upscale Southern comfort food, and is great for family and friend gatherings alike. The inside is more modern and dimly lit(at least at dinner time), and the menu offers typical southern barbeque items that are nicely portioned. A caution that, as you’d expect, the items offered tend to be on the heavier side and are not likely to be good for vegetarians, but the ingredients felt more satisfying and tasty than too heavy and greasy. I ordered the tostada salad, which was surprisingly robust in flavor and extremely filling. The salmon is also well cooked. I personally didn’t try the barbeque, but other members of my family ordered it and had the option of various sides and sauces. The service is friendly as well.

This was our second visit. We had a reservation for 715 on Sunday night and the place was packed but we were still seated promptly. Our server Vicki was a little southern spitfire who was excellent. This place offers the best of southern comfort food. I’m not saying it’s low fat or healthy but it is hands down delicious! Two of our party got the fried chicken(half a chicken biscuit and two sides) and they were very accommodating in switching up the sides. One got the pulled pork platter and had asked for slaw and smashed potatoes when they accidentally gave her Mac and cheese they accommodated her by just bringing her the potatoes and letting her keep the Mac and cheese. We shared the wonderful Brussels sprouts appetizer as well as an order of hush puppies both huge servings. For dinner I had the spicy boiled peel an eat shrimp and a side of delicious grits. All in all the server was awesome the food hot and delicious and the atmosphere upbeat. Definitely will be returning again! dinner for 4 with 2 appetizers, three margaritas two Moscow mules two draft beers three entrees and a side and another appetizer as an entrée $ 167 before tip.

I was drawn to their category in Southern just because this whole time that I’ve lived in Northern California, I’ve never seen one around my area, so it was intriguing. The area reminded me of Lake Tahoe, which was beautiful. We were seated immediately and my initial thought of the restaurant was that it was fancy looking. It was well-maintained and it had a cozy environment. For appetizers, we got the fried brussell sprouts. My friend thought it was smelly but I didn’t notice it. It came with a sauce that I do not know. The bucket was huge by the way. You could share it with 3 – 4 other people. We were only able to eat half of it because I wanted to save space for my entrée. The brussell sprouts were amazing! It was crunchy and tasty. I would recommend getting this as an appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered fried catfish which included french fries and coleslaw. The entrée came with tartar sauce, hot sauce, and ketchup. The catfish was full of flavor! It was cooked to perfection and the taste was enhanced when dipped in hot sauce! The fries were crunchy and tasty as well. I was never a fan of coleslaw but their coleslaw was actually not bad at all. In regards to their service, I would say it was on point. I would love to come back here again and try their other entrees!

I’ve been here a dozen times, and every time is different. The ambiance is nice, although a bit crowded and noisy… like a brewery… but it’s not a brewery. Staff is usually really nice. More often than not we are here for a family gathering and we have 8 – 12 people, which seems to be the max unless you sit outside. But the food is hit and miss, which bums me out. It can be really really good, but sometimes it’s not. They have some good appetizers, hush puppies for one, or the nachos which we’ve gotten with brisket before. Salads are big, but I have yet to try one, as well as with the soups. The sandwiches are uninspiring and I’ve never felt compelled to try one. I’ve had a number of entrees that I have enjoyed. The fried chicken is amazing, juicy and not too oily. They had jambalaya as a special one night which i loved. Comes with sides that are just sides, nothing special. And the there’s the BBQ. If you don’t know the difference between BBQ and grilling then I believe the subtleties would not be a big deal to you. However, as Sweet T’s tries to be a southern style comfort food type of place, I feel they’ve missed the mark on much of their smoked meats. I was set on getting the fried chicken before we even got there, but once seated I was compelled to give the BBQ one last shot. This last trip I had a combo platter consisting of pulled chicken, brisket and tri tip. This platter came with a biscuit and two sides which I chose vegetables and potato salad. The chicken was dry, and brisket was fatty and oily, neither of which tasted much like BBQ/smoked meats as they should. However, the tri tip was a nice medium rare that had a good smokey flavor, so I’ll give them that. Although, with the chicken and brisket, you had to eat it with the BBQ sauce provided, which tastes like store bought. I was pretty disappointed because I like the restaurant, the people there are good people, but it’s just too hit and miss for the price.

Sweet T’s is everything I look for in Southern comfort food. The barbecue is delicious, the pulled pork is great! The sauce is very traditional & homemade tasting. The Mac & Cheese is to die for! Trust me, order it as a side you won’t be disappointed! Their biscuits are mouthwatering, they aren’t dry thankfully. The service is great! Very attentive staff, especially when it comes to refills. I love the indoor seating, the cushions for the booths are so comfortable & the white compliments the inside setting that much more. They serve a cider called«Ace» which is made locally, I tried it for the first time there & now it’s my favorite cider! Their fried chicken is delicious. Freshly prepared, so keep in mind it does take 20 or so minutes to prep & fry. I personally prefer dark meat only when it comes to fried chicken & they have no problem substituting without charging extra. Their cole slaw is pretty good, their mashed potatoes are awesome! I love the outside eatery during the warmer months, you can even bring your dog to dine with you! They even provide a water bowl with fresh water! It’s. Real treat for my pooch! The outside service is just as great! One of my favorite eateries in Sonoma County. It’s hard to find fresh, southern comfort food and this place is my go to spot! It’s very pricey so keep that in mind. Personally, it’s worth every single penny.

I WAS a regular. I WAS in love with sweet tees but now jaw dropped at its current customer service. I tried to book a party of 14 for a birthday and employees Haley and Natalie were surprisingly very rude on the phone. Laughing rudely to the point. Where they had to put me on hold or switch to the other girl. How professional. They kept referring me as «Bethany» after correcting them multiple times. She told me she would email me a prefix menu and I NEVER received the menu or an email… She would not go over the menu to give me an idea or anything prior to that. I had to call her back because I heard her say my email wrong after she hung up. Natalie also cut me off and hung up not giving me a chance to ask any questions about my birthday reservation. All I wanted was to book a dinner for 14. Why must I play phone tag and be bullied. Not a care for their customers, disappointing. Do not waste your time trying to book here.

To me a barbecue place’s food should be so good that, even though you’ve got a mouth full of that goodness, your taste buds are already dancing up and down because there’s another bite coming soon. That was my experience here — the meat was just so incredible, the side dishes so fantastic that my mouth thought it was Christmas, Fourth of July and my birthday all wrapped up in one spectacular taste bud orgy. What I shared with my dear wifey was a three-meat combo plate where we got pulled pork and pork ribs plus the special of the day, smoked tri-tip. Any great BBQ joint’s meat should stand out on its own without having to be drowned in some sauce and each of the three meats we had did just that — they were all stellar examples of how to do great barbecued meats. The combination of their rubs plus a great vacation in the smoker gave them that barbecued, smokey goodness that just makes American barbecue my absolute favorite kind of food when it’s done properly. On the side we had a mushroom/sweet potato hash plus grits. I could have eaten a 55 gallon drum of each just as my entire meal. Well, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration but they were also absolutely wonderful with the grits being creamy and smooth and the hash having distinct flavors from the peppers, mushrooms and sweet potatoes with a wee bit of saltiness that was just magic. We split this plate of meats plus got a side of hush puppies which had just a hint of the jalapeños that were in the corny(in a good way!) batter. These were served with a mountain of honey butter that balanced the mild, mild heat with just a bit of buttery sweet. Oh my gosh, I have to switch keyboards because this one is covered in drool and it’s been a day since I’ve been there. There were three sauces served on the side which were also good but, frankly, the meat was so great on its own I didn’t want to alter that experience. We sat at the bar and watched the ballet of lunacy that is a busy commercial kitchen while, all around us, the rest of the patrons were sitting in a beautiful setting of relative calm. It was a great place to sit and enjoy both a fan-freaking-tastic dinner plus a rather entertaining show. I also want to mention our server, Sierra, who balanced the fact that the whole place was full with a good number of guests waiting to get in with being attentive and knowledgeable about the food. Sierra was as good at her job as the people in the kitchen. Honestly, if I could buy some of your stars I’d give Sweet T’s more than just five but I can be satisfied with the knowledge that I have a vehicle and a driver’s license and I can and will go back to Sweet T’s. A lot. And I don’t care that it’s 100 miles from home, it’s worth every mile of that journey.

Our company went here on Saturday for our end-of-year employee appreciation dinner. Ann(the owner) helped us in choosing our family-style menu a month ahead of time. There was 19 of us total. Our waitress Nina(along with all her busing staff) did a perfect job. All of the courses and platters of food all came out in great timing. We had more then enough food and even was able to take left overs home. We sat outside under their new covered patio with lots of heaters. It was plenty warm enough even though it was raining. All our employees raved about the food — some of their first time there. We thank Ann and Nina and all the others for making this dinner a success.

This place befuddles me; I love the food and the quality but the service is spotty, slow and honestly not very good. However if you like southern food and live in Sonoma County this is your choice. We’ve been there at least 3 times and the food has always been good. We’ve had their pulled pork nachos(be forewarned that it does not have cheese, it has a bechamel sauce instead), fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken strips, fries, salmon burger, hamburger, and a couple of salads. All the food was prepared fresh and the ingredients seems high quality. The BBQ/smoked meats are decent in flavor, texture and moisture but I cold have used more oomph! The down side is the service is not great and this place adds up($$$).

Have been going to Sweet T’s for a while now and decided to write a review. The place has a great vibe with lots of repeat customers. This is a local restaurant and you’ll seldom see any tourists here(not that that is a bad thing.) A recent addition to their menu is the brisket chili. It comes in three sizes — cup, bowl, super bowl. It’s absolutely delicious. While it could be a bit hotter for my tastes, they have to be careful to not exceed the heat an average person might like. The other night I had their fried chicken dinner. This dish is what prompted the review. It comes with 4 pieces(thigh, breast, drumstick, and wing), plus your choice of two side dishes. All for less than $ 20. They have several great sides, but the standard offering with this is coleslaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken was perfectly breaded and crispy. The meat was moist and the flavor sublime. I’ve decided this is as good as Tyler Florence’s Wayfarer Tavern in the city. The mashed potatoes were the best I’ve had anywhere — buttery, smooth and perfectly seasoned. The coleslaw is fairly standard, but good, too. Appetizers include deviled eggs, brisket nachos, excellent french fries, and salmon patties. All are winners. Dinner salads have generous portions and just the right amount of dressing. They have sensationally decadent dessert offerings. I’ve had Key Lime pie and it had the right amount of tartness. They do a big take out business and are in the process of enclosing their outdoor patio for more comfortable seating. It’s located off Stage Coach Road in Fountain Grove; a little off the beaten path. Although everyone in the neighborhood finds it.

The first time I tried this place it was really good. Came back a second time and wasn’t expecting it to be as good, but it was even better! I just wished I lived closer than 40 miles away. Good thing I have friends that live close by so I can come often! The ribs are juicy and tender. The pulled pork tasty and moist. We’ve had several of their desserts and each one has not disappointed. They have a full bar with great cocktails. Plenty of seating but I would always recommend reservations!

All excellent Unilocal reviews are accurate, IMHO. The food is creative, flavorful, and full of southern influence. My only complaint was the noise factor. I could hardly hear my dinner companions, even thought this was a Thursday night which should have been serene. This place some time ago was called Santi’s and that was a good one too, but Sweet T’s is an improvement under its new ownership. I had the entrée, blackened catfish, and it is probably the most interesting catfish ordered to date. It was served in a bowl, with the fish in the middle and collard greens on one side and mac and cheese on the other. The mac and cheese was super, and sat in a slightly spicy cheese sauce. I asked for a spoon so as to not miss any. The collard greens were well cooked and was with a tomato sauce. Any ingredients could have been a dinner by itself. A great combination. All in all, we shall return even though the restaurant sits in an obscure little mall with tight parking. It is worth it to explore all the other dishes they offer.

COMFORTFOODISRIGHT… OMG…I am so happy I found this place! This amazing southern BBQ spot filled all of my bad fatty food comfort needs. If you are on a diet, then don’t eat the mac’ cheese or creamed corn. As it is super packed with rich creamy sauce. And since I am not on a diet, I ordered both plus the Shrimp Gumbo. The Shrimp Gumbo has a good level of spice. Which is great because I love my food SPICY!!! I also took advantage of their FULLBAR! And ordered a nice refreshing Mojito with fresh mint. This is definitely a place I will come back to sooner rather than later.

Have visited with some pals 3 times for cocktails and bar food munchies. Think the mixed drinks can use a higher does of alcohol. Finger food is just average. Nice location, away from the maddening crowds of central Santa Rosa. Servers are prompt, kind, thoughtful and efficient. Prices are not bargain.

We’re always skeptical about southern food and BBQ. Will it be too salty? Too sweet? Too tough? There are a lot of things that can go wrong with BBQ, and you can’t expect to get Kansas or Texas quality BBQ in the bay area. After walking into this adorable restaurant with a gastropub feel, I was further convinced they wouldn’t have good food, and that they were more about their décor and ambiance. They totally proved me wrong! Firstly, the service was friendly and attentive. They accidentally let us order a cheesesteak sandwich when they were completely out, and happily gave us two free Lagunitas. Sweet. We ended up ordering chicken and waffles, the chicken breast sandwich, pulled chicken plate, and BBQ brisket plate. Their chicken is amazing! It’s juicy, high quality white meat, and they only use organic/free range chicken. They only use cage free eggs as well. ALWAYS a plus in my book. The brisket was also extremely tender. I just wish they gave us more of it! The sides were just ok. The mac and cheese and cheesy grits were both really bland — like they used heavy cream and a bit of white cheese, and nothing else. The corn, cherry tomatoes and okra were surprisingly good though. We were too full to try their desserts, and I’m sure we missed out. But with all that free beer there was simply no room for anything more! Next time we’re in town, we’ll drop by again. But maybe we’ll skip the sides and go for dessert instead.
