The Loft at Fountaingrove

By far the most incompetent salon I’ve ever been to. This is my 3^rd experience with this salon and absolutely my last. I live out of town and my mom is a very regular customer here so when I’m in town I’ve come here to get my hair done a few times– in my experience, nothing special abt my hair– a bit pricy and staff is not overly friendly.
My experience today is why I’m giving such a low review. This review is regarding the receptionist who «booked» my appt. I called this past Tuesday to make an appt for lash extensions for today (Saturday). My appt I made was at 10am. I show up on time and I’m waiting for 30 minutes until finally I go up to receptionist and ask her what’s going on. She gets me confused with another 10:30am client and I politely clear up that I am a 10am client and she looks baffled. After giving her my name and she starts searching for me– she sees that the receptionist who booked my appt on Tuesday booked me for the Saturday appt that had already passed. Who does that? How is that even possible? I understand that mistakes happen, but you have one job lady! Book appts properly! I’m shocked by the incompetence of this salon. And to add insult to injury, the lash lady comes out and sweetly apologizes and I understand it’s not her fault, but I’m sitting around for another 30 minutes waiting to see if they can squeeze me in somehow– to no avail. So after ONE HOUR of waiting I walk back and talk to the receptionist and tell her I’m just going to leave. So after waiting for an hour, I walk out, with no lashes and super annoyed. I will never come to this salon ever again. I hope that this is some good feedback for the owner Jolene to get her receptionists in order.

I got my eyebrows tattooed by Charmaine. She is wonderful! She does such a great job! Even if you just need a brow wax she does the best shaping! I love her work! I would highly recommend her!

Loved Ana! After struggling to find a hair salon in Santa Rosa, I struck gold! She uses essential oils, massages your head, and gives you a super cute cut that flatters your face! Thank you Ana, for also being sensitive about my brittle hypothyroid hair. It meant so much to me.

Have been coming to Anna for a few months. Always does an amazing job! She always gives my referrals a discount first time as well sort of an introductory price and they all love her too. Highly recommend!

This place is great. I can vouch especially for Jolene Cooper and Jenae Morrison. They both give such s classy look to all of their clients.
You can go and tell them to do whatever and you’d always be happy. You won’t regret it.

Kristen has been doing my hair for 8 yrs. I followed her from her old salon to the Loft and love her new place. Kristen does a great job with my cut and color. I always get up from her chair feeling like a new person and always receive compliments on my hair. I have sent lots of my friends to her and they have all been very happy and have become loyal clients. Kristen always has a smile on her face is easy to talk with and gives great advice on what would look best on me. If you are looking for a great stylist and call Kristen.

Always super helpful & creative! Joleen did a fantastic job with recovering my hair from a bad hair cut from another place. Very professional & nice staff. Grateful to have these girls so close by!

I have been coming to Jenae for 7 years and refuse to let anyone else touch my hair. She took it from unhealthy and hideous to beautiful, long and healthy! I get compliments on my hair all the time. I live 2 hours away and still drive for my highlights:) forever hairstylist!

I was the high bidder at an auction and had the privilege of trying out The Loft. Walked away with a nice haircut and great color/​high/​lowlights…

I followed Anna to this salon a few months ago. It’s a little far for me, but it is well worth it because Anna is simply an artist with the razor. I recently went to a local salon because I didn’t want to make the drive to Fountaingrove, and I was reminded again how well Anna shapes my thick, coarse hair. Anna has a gift of seeing what is best for your head shape and your hair. Also, she is friendly but at the same time very professional.
The Loft is a small and cozy salon, and they offer you tea or water. They have a dedicated receptionist which makes it very easy to make a hair appointment.

I love this place! Especially Jen Saunders! I moved to Northern California from Southern CA and always had the same person do my hair since I can remember. I was so nervous to get my hair done by someone especially because I have thick, curly hair. I am so happy I met Jen because she listened to exactly what I wanted! I LOVE her! I now get color in my hair and totally trust Jen with anything! She is super fun as well :)
If you need a hairstylist I HIGHLY recommend Jen Saunders. She will listen to what you want/​need and make it a fun experience also! She is also very good at working with your schedule !

I love the Loft. I would have never found them if I hadn’t won a silent auction last fall that came with two free haircuts for a gals’ night! Jessica chopped my hair off– I seriously went from long to short. I’ve only taken that step one other time, and it was not for the best. Jessica did such a great job, that I’ve returned to her multiple times!
They can book up a few weeks in advance, so definitely be flexible. Sometimes there are cancellations. I enjoy the lobby – full of fun magazines and music. Also, all the chairs are in one big room, which I find comforting. You’re not closed off in a small room with one person like some salons. It feels like a big hair-​stylin’ party!

I’ve never been happier with my hair. I’ve been going to Jolene for about 6 months now and it was the best decision I’ve made. I’ve been to other stylists that do what they want, rather then what you want. So frustrating. Jolene does exactly what you ask her for. I have long dirty blonde hair and I wanted platinum blonde. The first time I went to her she nailed it and she continues to nail it every time. Almost everywhere I go women compliment my hair (both color and cut) and ask for her info. Since I started having my hair done by Jolene– my mom, aunt and 3 of my friends have started going to her and we all love her. We have different colors and styles of hair and Jolene is accommodating to all of us. We all live in either Petaluma or Sonoma and the drive is more then worth it.

I absolutely love Jenae. She is hands down the best at the salon and she is a blonde specialist. She makes my blonde look so natural even though my natural color is a brown. She just put in extensions for me and they look just as natural! She is absolutely amazing.
The salon is always nice, professional, friendly, and clean.
It’s not easy finding a good stylist, so you can imagine my happiness when I found the best!!!

I have gone here several times I visited and experienced a clean & professional atmosphere. The prices can be steep but in my opinion completely worth it.

I drive from Petaluma every 4 weeks to get my hair done and eyebrows waxed. Its worth it! I get compliments on my hair ALL of the the time– I hand out Jolene’s business card more than my own! The salon is clean and I’m always welcomed with a smile and offering of a beverage. I’m a busy person who is always pressed for time, but it is worth it to make the time to drive to The Loft at Fountaingrove!

I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the loft in fountaingrove. After Jolene did my hair there, I would never go back. She is not very good with handling long hair and it ruined my perception of their business. I do not recommend her to style your hair.

I have super long and very thick hair. Every salon I have been to in the past can do my hair but NO ONE does it like Jolene! She does AMAZING color and her cuts are AWESOME. The salon is super cute and all the girls are very friendly. I highly recommend The Loft. You will not be disappointed.

I love this salon. Jessica Johannesen has helped me with new hairstyles through the years and I don’t know what I’d do without her. She also did my hair for my wedding and I absolutely loved it. This salon is very clean, upbeat, welcoming and hip. Making appointments is easy and I always get a call the day before to remind me of my appointment time. They also have a blow-​dry bar and I can’t wait to use it.

I got my haircut here today, and had a great experience.
The place is chic, airy, and welcoming. I read Scientific American in the waiting area, in a plush leather loveseat.
Its pricey, it’s true. And there ARE over-​sized portraits of the owners and staff plastered all over the oyster-​colored walls, but it wasn’t obnoxious. Just be careful what you say out loud ’bout those photos!
I’m going back. I like my stylist, and I can afford it.
