What great value and a such a wide array and variety of great exercise equipment! This gym provides free parking, is spacious, has a wide open inviting floor plan with more real weightlifting and exercise equipment than any other gym in the North Bay that I am aware – and I have been a member of many of the area’s gyms especially since I use to compete in Bodybuilding competitions. Although I still maintain my membership at 24 hour fitness, I much prefer and end up always going to Stan Bennett’s Health & Fitness rather than 24 hour fitness. I can speak to quality and value, since I have been a member of this gym for 5 years now and have never had a problem with anything. The manager, Ed, and all of the front desk staff are genuinely friendly, helpful and courteous all the time… not when it suits them in a sales like manner! The patrons/​clients of this gym mind their business, but are shockingly courteous to one another compared to the last downtown gym that I had belonged to for over 20 years but WOULD never go back after experiencing all of the attributes and reasons to join Stan Bennett’s gym. Last, but not least, the PRICE is great and the VALUE even better!

This gym is a train wreck! The equipment is broken, the gym is dirty, and there is no management or customer service available… I cancelled the membership in writing and four months later I had a credit card charge for $ 165.00. I just filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. ABC financial is also to blame and I will be Unilocaling about them as well.

My mother who is in her 70’s and has memory issues and is barely able to walk got talked into a membership with Stan Bennett’s Health & Fitness. Upon requesting a refund they said they would only give a refund if she provided a doctor’s note saying she was not physically capable of maintaining a membership. She provided a note, it’s 4 months later, still no refund. The way they have taken advantage of a senior citizen on a fixed income who obviously was not in good physical condition to go to a gym is beyond shameful.

You get what you pay for. The membership is dirt cheap, so yes some machines break down and they have some old stuff, but they have good machines and friendly staff. If you want to be pampered through your workout go spend more money somewhere else.

This is a pretty decent gym. It’s not a 24 hour operation and the hours on Sunday could be longer, but other than that it’s really nice.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I didn’t feel pressured to sign up when I visited the first time which was in sharp contrast to other gyms I’ve been to. Facilities are clean and you seldom see anything broken. When a piece of equipment did break they always fixed or replaced it quickly.
I’d give it five stars if it had longer hours like it’s cross town location on Santa Rosa Avenue.
