Had a HOA Meeting here a few weeks ago and everything was great. I had a piece of Salmon with a double amount of vegetables. I will say the veggies were ‘very’ buttery — haha, but tasted good(not sure how many calories that adds). The Salmon was done perfect — I didn’t really expect that much for Salmon done here but more than pleasantly surprised. The ladies both had salads that were large and they were very satisfied. The staff was friendly and waited for us to be ready to order. It’s a nice place — diner style and a couple steps up. My friend highly recommends the ribs there. And I was at a banquet of sorts in the back room in December for Breakfast and they did a fantastic job with this large group. Highly recommend for Breakfast and Lunch — more casual Dinner, better than most.

Great food, Good service, waitress very good. BUT watch out where you park you will be towed away if you part in the Hotel parking spots! Don’t ever use there business they are mean and nasty people.

I ordered the«Patty Melt», what a mistake !!! It was dripping in grease to the point the the rye bread was like that of a wet sponge. I showed the waitress explaining my disappointment, she grinned ear to ear and stated«that’s how we make it». She took it back to the kitchen & returned it with dry toasted bread. When I lifted the toast, what grease soaked bread wasn’t scrapped off was still stuck to the meat patty. I won’t be returning!!!

Me and my coworkers used to come here at least once a week for those awesome eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce is amazing! Best thing on the menu for lunch is the fish and chips. Simple and very delicious! Great place for a late breakfast and lunch!

My friend and I come to SAMs about once a week. We love the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere that SAMs provides. Today was the worst experience we have ever had and it is disappointing to say we probably won’t come back here. The service was awful, the omelettes we got were undercooked and the cream cheese and sour cream were in one corner of the omelette. We had asked for the manager and got Troy, the owner. We told him what happened and he said«thank you for letting us know.» Instead of taking something off the check to let us know they were sorry and wanted us to come back, we got our full $ 63 check back, and got a coupon for a buy one get one free meal.

Basically your traditional diner. Been here a few times(mostly breakfast). Nothing really amazing about this place. Food is good, service is good, and the feel of the home style is really cool to look at while you wait for your food. Ive had the chicken fried steak which is a bit salty, both times I’ve ordered it. Eggs Benedict is yummy though the eggs were a lil over cooked. Biscuits and gravy are huge and filling. Overall good diner and will try their lunch next time.

My children and I love this place. Food is always excellent, big portions. Everyone can get what they want because there is a good variety on the menu. I’m vegetarian and I think they have the best veggie burger in town(with sweet potato fries — yum!) The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because during their busiest times(weekend breakfast) they need more hands on deck.

Sadly, tonight’s dinner didn’t measure up to previous visits. The fried chicken at 16.95 was over cooked and had very little meat. I would have expected a breast but got a wing and a thigh? Salads were super small and uninteresting. Two adult meals and one child cost $ 50 for dinner which seemed rather expensive for a diner.

I had the best egg florentine today for brunch. The potatoes were delicious and unsalted but with plenty of flavor. The eggs poached to perfection and a delicious hollandaise sauce. Yummy!

I love this place. If you’re very sensitive to ambience, and don’t like the 50’s or the fact that 80% of the patrons at any given time are senior citizens, you won’t have a good time here. If you just want some good, classic-American breakfast grub, friendly service, and a(usually) extremely short wait time after ordering, I highly recommend Sam’s. If I started every morning with their chicken-fried steak, I’d die both early and happy. It’s my favorite CFC in Santa Rosa. Delicious sausage gravy and crispy breading. Their spuds are okay, but their homemade salsa on anything makes them awesome. Eggs are always cooked right, and the generous portions of breakfast sides are nice. Breakfast is served all day and reasonable priced($ 5 – 12 a person). I’m not a fan of the chewy bacon. Their sandwiches are just okay as well. Don’t expect this place to win any awards for«best whatever», but be aware that their quality is consistent, and that’s hard to find around here.

One of my favorite places to go in town for a delicious low key breakfast! Waiters are friendly and the omelets are divine! This is old diner style with booths, and counter dining at its finest. Try the Java shake, that’s right folks, coffee and ice cream decadence… You will leave with a happy tummy :-)

Get the breakfast burrito with bacon added and enjoy every bite! So good! Or if feeling extra indulgent, the patty melt is excellent. Perhaps just get a side of french fries with ranch dressing. Oh choices, choices, choices. For my fellow ice lovers… best crunchable/munchable/chewable ice in town!(haha)

We chose to try something different that our regular breakfast spot while we were in town. Never again. My husband called in a reservation for 11, we were incredibly thankfulnto hear that they were happy to accommodate us on a Sunday morning. We arrived 10 minutes before our reserved time, we were greeted and seated. Our server was okay, she basically gave us the impression that she was not going to go above and beyond because our gratuity was already included. Another server stared down and rolled eyes at our 3 toddlers when she felt that they were in her way. We asked them to move, the server rolled her eyes at our children! For this reason alone I would never return. Our server also brought out 3 children’s plates, then served everyone else, missing the 4th child’s plate. She got her food last. When I asked for our side of bacon– she literally entered the order in the POS station right in front of his. I ordered the Eggs Benedict substituting a biscuit for an English Muffin. The biscuit was dry, not fresh at all. The hollandaise sauce was straight out of the can, and I swear the ham circles looked like they came from a lunchable. Plus my spuds, not hashbrowns, their spuds– were undercooked. The best part of my meal was my iced tea. From the looks on the other plates no one else was impressed. Maybe their lunch food or service is better, but I don’t care to find out.

What to say, what to say… hubby and I dropped in for breakfast this morning. He’d never been, I had been once before. The good: he liked his waffles but it’s pretty hard to screw up waffles. Sunday morning, our wait wasn’t very long at all. Maybe 10 minutes. The bad: Our server couldn’t be bothered with acknowledging that we were even there. She got lost at one point with another table’s drinks and approached us at that point, wondering if the drinks were ours. Once she finally did, my husband ordered coffee and water for both of us. She seemed a little annoyed when I(assuming that she listened to my hubby) didn’t respond when she initially asked me what I wanted to drink. Ummm… okay… not a good start. I ordered biscuits and gravy with over easy eggs, the hubs got a Belgian waffle. I got my «food» and was pretty taken aback by the visual(I’ll post the pic). The gravy was slopped over the plate, the egg was drowning in butter. Based on that alone I decided not to eat the eggs. I tasted the gravy, it was like paste. I took a bite of my biscuit and was trying to figure out if it was sweet or not. I did eat most of one of the biscuits, despite it being undercooked. I was starving. The coffee was pretty terrible as well. Despite that, our server seemed fairly uninterested in why the food was uneaten. Once my hubs was done with his waffle(he said it was good) we decided to leave. Our server did ask about the uneaten food and when I said that it was terrible her response was simply«oh». She then took my plate and dumped it in the trash and went about her day. We got up to pay the check, and were greeted at the cash register by Wayne. When Wayne asked about everything I did tell him it was the worst thing I had ever eaten and that I was really disappointed. We told him that the biscuit was undercooked. He then decided to tell me about how great their food is and argue about the quality of what was on my plate. I told him I would show him a picture of what I had received but he was more interested in defending the food than listening to an unhappy customer. He offered to send us a card of some sort but I was not interested. He kept pushing so we left him my husband’s information. I have no idea if he’ll ever use it. Our server decided to stand there behind Wayne to hear what we were saying so I opted not to mention the terrible service. I wasn’t going to sit there and discuss not only bad food but bad service while getting dirty looks from the server. I can forgive one or the other but not both. I know Sam’s is a Santa Rosa staple beloved by many but I am definitely NOT one of them. I will never go back. As I’ve said before, Sonoma County is way too big to have bad food or bad customer service. There are plenty of other delicious places to eat.

The place is quite cozy with a large dining area. Breakfast all day, and kids eat free. I got there on an off hour, so it was quite empty, and the staff was very tentative. I ordered a shrimp avocado salad, it arrived at my table in about 10 minutes. It is well composed, all the ingredients are very very fresh. The shrimps are very small in size, but made up in larger quantity. The dressing was honey mustard, it was to the point. Came with yummy crunchy garlic bread.

They have a really large fan base, which I do not understand. It is pretty much Denny’s without the logo on the coffee mugs. Food is OK but not great. Prices are reasonable but not cheap. Kind of plastic food. I only go because it is the nearest sit down restaurant near my office. If you have other options, go there.
