Two of us stopped in to try the pizza since they have that cool little oven. I’ve eaten pizza in many places and I make it myself so I think I know what I am talking about when I say this was a frozen pizza topped up with some chicken and pesto and a little more cheese and presented as a «hand made» pie. It’s not even as good as any chain pizza place much less any of the delicious pizza places in Sonoma County. Truly a bad experience, an egregious insult to the craft of pizza. Stop in for a pint and sit by the lake, the surroundings are great but do not eat here.

Get the barbequed oysters, a must try. A little pricey, but a good portion goes to the park. Also have beer, wine & smoothies available. Fun place to eat and relax in the middle of the park.

I have been meaning to get on here and leave a review! I have always enjoyed coming here for the food and atmosphere, but this year The Lakeside Grill went above and beyond to help us through an amazing Company party, Danielle the girl that helped me made sure that the food was amazing and that the beer kept flowing. She was very professional and beyond helpful. Our employees had a great time! The food is all ways good and they change it up to keep it fresh. I would recommend this place to everybody, I am just sad their summer season isn’t just a bit longer!

We stopped by here to ask where the boat rental area was and were told by the girl working that they do the boat rentals there at the grill, but that we couldn’t rent one today because she was the only one working. I looked around and there was absolutely no one in line or even close by to order food. Hrm… We decided to get a hot dog for the kid, who was hungry. We were told that we couldn’t order from the regular menu and could only order from the white board they had setup, which was basically salad, hot dog, or burgers. I wanted a salad, but there was no way I was going to pay $ 8 for a salad from a snack bar. Turns out the kid wouldn’t eat the hot dog so I ended up with it. It was actually pretty decent, and a fair value at $ 3.

I have always has great experiences at Lakeside! My 90 year old grandmother passed away a few weeks ago and it seemed like the perfect place to bring loved ones together to celebrate her life. We had a group of 30. I called Mo and he handled everything from the menu to the flowers. We had oysters, pizza, hamburgers, salads, corn, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, tri tip and beer and wine. The event was very reasonably priced and the service was handled with care and respect for my family! I will continue to go to lakeside, great food and atmosphere.

This place would certainly get 4 stars if their prices matched what you get. Their food is good, but for their prices, you could get a near great meal in town. But, the reality is, you’re not in town! If you are eating here, you’re at Spring Lake and the Lakeside has a monopoly on the food/beverages. I’m glad there is one place to eat and drink in the park, but I would like to see this place step up their quality or reduce their prices!

Indifferent service, apparently the folks that run the food stand also take care of the boat rentals?1? Odd combo of services, kinda tough to juggle the two. Waited on both sides. The sodas were bubbly and the beer at the beach people seemed happy, can’t say I tried the food. But then again do the boats really mix with the grub?

What a treat! We have been coming to Spring Lake for 30 years and this is such a huge upgrade, especially compared to the old snack bar. The made-to-order BBQ(oysters too!), fresh salads and gourmet California Cuisine menu is lovely, not to mention the beer and wine available. Next to the swimming lagoon and the lake with picturesque views, I mean come on! Walk-up window/ordering and outdoor seating only.

2.5 stars Like everyone has said, can’t beat the atmosphere. Perfect summer night, not crowded, warm with a cool breeze. Perfect. Our«service» was friendly and my son had a nice time conversing with the cook as he prepared our food. BBQ oysters were… well…I think it’s a personal preference to have them cooked WELL done. LOL The«chipotle» sauce was good, as was the garlic butter. Roasted corn on the cob was very good and at $ 2/ear, not as costly as it can be at other places. Tri-tip sandwich was fine enough. Caesar salad was good and of shareable size. Lastly, the brick-oven pizza. Truth is, I’d order it again but with modifications to make it how I like it. Very thick sauce, and a lot of it.(Would ask for«light» sauce.) Odd texture because the crust was nicely charred on the outside but slightly doughy at the center.(Would ask for it extra crispy.) Pepperoni was good but that’s a compromise since I was sharing. The people next to me had a pesto chicken that looked much tastier. All in all, I’m glad we went and if we’re enjoying Spring Lake around lunch or dinner, we’ll probably return.

Unfortunately the Lakeside Grill is glorified concession stand. The only nice thing I can say is about the setting; Annadel Park is wonderful. First, as concession stand prices go, the Lakeside Grill is really expensive. Second, do not have high expectations of the food. It is as basic, plain and simple as it gets. Third; service; there is none. It’s a walk up window counter in a cinderblock building. The majority of the staff behind the counter that I have encountered seem to be indifferent and project a «this is just a temporary summertime job» kind of attitude. I took my kids there yesterday afternoon, giving the place a second try this year with the hope for a different outcome than the we had the first time we visited. As it turned out it was terrible again: we ordered two hot dogs and a Cobb Salad. After waiting patiently for 25 minutes for our food I finally went up to the window to inquire about our order. Someone behind the counter mumbled something about«changing over the kitchen cooks.» It was 1:15 pm in afternoon, so I’m still not sure what that reason for the delay meant. Long story short, everything about the place is unremarkable. My suggestion would be to pack your own food, enjoy Annadel Park, but avoid the Lakeside Grill

good food for the money. Nice views of the lake. They need to do something about the bees. Way too many and bothering everyone. Had to take the food to go after trying to eat at the table.

Beautiful atmosphere! I am happy to pay the much needed $ 7 parking fee to support our parks. Pleased with the selection on menu. I ordered the arugula salad w/pears and walnuts and a lemonade slushie. Salad was very good but next time I would order dressing on the side as it was a bit too much. Slushie was very refreshing. I am looking forward to returning and trying something different.

We went to this place after reading about it in the paper and wanting to try it. It was extremely disappointing and I will not be returning anytime soon. Basically, it is a snack bar trying to pretend it is something better. Pros: Seating area is nice The four year old liked the hot dog Beer and wine at the park Cons: Paying $ 7 to park to eat here Hordes of yellow jackets Small, dry, and boring hamburgers Bland burnt Margherita pizza drowning in olive oil PB&J a six year old refused to eat Bottom line it is not worth the trip or the cost. If you want to eat in the park take a picnic lunch it will be better anyways.

I really really want to love the food here, but I have yet to find something I really like :( The atmosphere is amazing — the kids can swim and play in the sand while hubs and I drink a beer(we live within walking distance, which is a huge plus!) and watch the kids play while taking in the scenery of this gorgeous area(with a sprinkling of people watching). I’ve eaten here twice and I am so far pretty disappointed in the food. They don’t have pepperoni pizza but they swore that the salami pizza was just as good. I found it to be really soggy and not as good by a long shot. We went back last night and tried the sunset meal($ 14/adults, $ 7/kid), hoping to be wowed and we were underwhelmed. It was pork butt that was so saturated with apple cider vinegar that I didn’t finish it — as it was I had to eat each bite with coleslaw in order to mask the vinegar. The amount of meat we got was nowhere NEAR $ 14 worth. The line can get fairly long during the dinner hour — and they rarely take orders from the 2nd window during this time, so that was frustrating when I went back for more beer and had to wait for over 10 min. in line. Happy hour 3 – 5 pm: $ 3 beers. They have Racer 5 — BONUS points for Racer 5 and Widmer Hefe. $ 5 for beer outside of happy hour, which is decent. Pizza by the slice is not available after 5:00(which is not mentioned on their menu board.) Overall, I think the potential is there, and I will continue to try to find something I like food-wise(which is crazy because I’m pretty easy to please!).

Ok I took the family back for a 2nd try at the Lakeside grill. So the same cook that was their a few weeks ago was still handling the food unsafe! The cook with the blue bandana and tattoos… We watched him take a smoke break, then went right back to work with out washing his hands. DISGUSTING!!! I told my 11 year old son to watch him make sure he does not touch any food. He did, he took the foil of the large insert full of grilled chicken. Proceeded to touch several pieces of chicken with both hands. Wiping his hands on the towel on his waist. Then he proceeded to toss a salad with both his hands, again, after touching cooked chicken(thanks god it was not raw). Pretty unsafe food handling skills. FYI ~ I called the manger after our 1st visit(8÷4÷12) and told her what happened. She was concerned and thanked me for letting her know what we saw and said she would fix it and hope it doesn’t happen again. Well it did and we will not eat here until they have a certified food handler and they practice safe food handling skills. Some one is going to get sick here real soon if they do not do something about this!

My friend and I heard staff touting the weekend breakfast buffets, so we came Saturday morning to try it out. We arrived at 10:30 and it ended at 11. When we paid we were told they were out of eggs. We asked, «really?» since it seems like they weren’t prepared for providing«all you can eat» and their excuse was, «well, we’ve been open since 8 a.m.,» as if that’s a reason they shouldn’t have everything still left. It turns out there actually was a small amount of eggs left in the tray, but they were quite cold. The people who came for the last half hour didn’t get any. The potatoes were cold, too. The bacon was lukewarm too, but it wasn’t as bad as eating cold eggs or potatoes. The orange juice was becoming lukewarm. I had to tip the jug over to get some out. It would be very simple for them to put ice in it to keep it cold and keep it from tasting like I was drinking the concentrate stuck at the bottom of the jug — because I was. The pastries were fine. The fruit was fine They need to change their buffet period from 8 – 11 to 8 – 10 or get more food.

I used to come to the swimming lagoon at Spring Lake LOTS as a kid in the 80’s. I barely remember this food stand being more then snow cones back then. Now, however, it is fabulous inexpensive food, great lakeside atmosphere, and a beautiful spot to enjoy wine and watching kids swim. It surpassed what I’d hope this little spot could be. The fire grilled pizzas were outstanding and great high-quality ingredients. You can bring your family down for a swim all day long, or your friends for great food and drinks at sunset. They even have weekend brunches, cant wait to try them out. I cant recommend this enough, there are few places to eat outdoors in this beautiful wine country where we can really afford to go regularly. Only bummer, plan to spend $ 7 to get in to the park. However, lots of parking options outside park for free, or its 1.2 mile walk in from Howarth. I personally, love donating the $ 7 to the park to keep Annadel open! Bravo Lakeside.

Very surprising place for a good restaurant. It is right on Spring lake. Usually, this type of place would just be a snack bar with hot dogs and the like. However, the Lakeside Grill is breaking out of that mold. They have actual adult food that you might eat in a decent restaurant at cheap prices. Lots of beer as well so that the adults can kick back next to the Lake on the chairs right next to the Lake. If you can believe it, they have a different theme dinner every night. Saturday night is local Tapas night. I am going for sure. I agree completely with the other Unilocal reviewer who classified this place as «rocking»

Great food, great prices and a great setting. The Lakeside just opened and is rocking. Went there with a group of 10 adults and 10 kids. Everybody from the ultra athlete to the vegan to the gourmet found something they loved. The restaurant has a spectacular setting, right next to the swimming lagoon with the hills of Annadel as a backdrop. Pizza’s were outstanding and the tri-tip special delicious. Good kids menu. Want an affordable place in a great setting with fantastic food? The Lakeside Gril is your spot.
