I’m not sure what happened to my favorite video game store, but there used to be a lot of gamer guys who worked the front desk and made me laugh, sold me stuff, and gave me the real scoop on what games to buy. They also flirted with me and made me feel pretty good about spending my retirement money on video games.
Now there’s always some middle-​aged dude (I’m 37 so I can say that) who greets me with a smile, a professional attitude and no personality at all. There is also a Latino guy who works there now who is very nice, but not very knowledgeable about games. No one flirts with me anymore. I haven’t asked, but I’m certain that no one will tell me who can mod my systems or help me with my missions online.
Bring back my video game store vibe. Being an adult, woman gamer is a lonely business and I need someone to talk to. :(
