How lame. Went there with my girlfriend as she needed some things. I had never shopped there. While she was trying things on, I looked at some jeans. They looked nice. I tried a couple and decided to get 3 pairs. All is good so far. I took them home and washed them and dried them. The next day, one of the rivets from one of the pants pockets was in the dryer. I figured which pair and where it came from. It had left a severely sharp metal edge on the pants. I took them back. It took the«MANAGER» 40 minutes to figure out how to do the return since the tags were gone from the pants, although I had my receipt. What a joke. But it gets better… I wore one of the pants and when I washed those, same exact thing happened… So let down with the quality and the service. Will take those back too and probably will never buy anything from them again.

I like Express’s clothes. They are definitely on the pricey side, but you can find some great stuff on their sale rack. I am not the typical 5’4″ girl, so sometimes it’s hard to find clothes that fit me comfortably. But that is typical to all stores, not just Express. My gripe with them is their customer service the last time that I was in there. A brief history to my dilemma; my kitten loves plastic bags. I bought a black mini skirt for my birthday party last December, but ended up not liking the way that it fit. When I went to get it and return in, the bag with the skirt in it was gone. In moving our furniture this last week it was discovered under the couch, and the handle of the bag was chewed on by the kitten. The skirt was secure in the bag, and untouched. I was a little past the 90 day return at this point, but decided to take it back and see if I could get store credit for it or anything.(It still had the tags and I had the original receipt). If not, no biggie, just thought it didn’t hurt to ask. When I took the skirt in, I took the bag with it to help explain my story of why it was past the 90 days. The lady working at the time of return looked at me, my mom, and the bag with complete disgust. She didn’t even attempt to mask her facial expression, of clearly thinking that we weren’t even worthy of standing in the store. It was literally some chew marks on the handle of the bag. And they were from a kitten, so they were little puncture spots. You would have thought that I was showing her a bag of dog poop. Before I could even finish my story or ask about store credit, she was already shaking her head with the disapproving expression on her face. And the only word she said was«No.» Not, «I’m sorry, no», or something polite like that. Just a rude«No». So my mom and myself stood there feeling awkward and embarrassed in front of her and the other customers in line behind us. And then the lady just stood there looking at us, waiting for us to walk away. She didn’t say«bye» or anything, she just looked at us, so we awkwardly just left. I’m not sure if Express doesn’t care about maintaining the image of not being stuck-up, or snobby. But having people with customer service skills like that work with your guests isn’t helping.

Dear Express, Thank you for continuing to dress me fashionably, with flair, funk, and style. Thank you for making clothes that fit normal sized women, for LONG, wide-leg pants that work magic in my wardrobe, for tailored sweaters and shirts, for sexy sparkling tops. Express, you are the staple in my closet, the skimming against my waist, the hug around my butt, and unfortunately, the dent in my credit card. And I love you. I wish I could give you 5 stars, but my checkbook would kick my a##.
