They changed chefs a while back now and the food has consistently gone downhill… naked wings, seasoned fries and watery dressings… overall has become a very overpriced place with less than decent food.

This place used to be great. But the owners are clearly getting greedy evidenced by the ridiculous price hikes, raised to $ 14−15/ burger, and a burger that doesn’t even compete with Jack-N-Box burgers. Whenever a restaurant updates their menus, they always slip in price increases. Not only that, every tasty meal they used to serve, they removed from menu OBVIOUSLY because the owners felt it cost too much to make, such as the Kobe burger they used to have. They’d much rather sell you a low quality burger for $ 14 and offer add-ons for $ 2/ea to make more money. It’s a shame because they have good beer and a decent atmosphere. If a friend a wants to meet here for a beer, sure, but I’ll make sure to eat somewhere else before entering this establishment.

I tried 3rd street again today. Not much has changed. I went in to try the beer that just won silver in the recent beer competition. Of course they didn’t have it available. I got the Annadel pale«English» Ale. Nothing about this beer makes it an English style pale ale. An English ale needs English hops, not Northwestern«C style» hops Just another average brew pub. Too bad they are surrounded by Exceptional Brew Pubs.

This used to be my favorite place in Santa Rosa to eat, but when I came in tonight the menu had been changed. Much to my dismay all of my favorite menu items are now gone. I though I would give the fish and chips a try, it would be hard to mess up a pub classic. I was very disappointed when I took my first bite and even though the batter was crispy the fish was dry. The tarter sauce was liquid. It felt like they were just trying to hard to be hip. On a good note my friend had burger that she said was good. However the ranch would have been better if we would have just brought hidden Valley from home. With a price hike I would have liked better food. This used to be my favorite payday dinner, it looks like for the time being I will have to look elsewhere to spend my Friday nights.

Third Street Ale Works is a great place for food & drinks located in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa! They’ve got a great menu BURGERS&PIZZA& can’t forget the Bratwurst sausages! Always a clean environment to eat, laugh & have some drinks. Don’t leave without trying the BODEGAHEAD. Pool shark anyone? Great pool table upstairs for those of you who like to shoot pool. Last but not least the staff is very greeting to make any like family. My man Kent hands down one of the best bartenders in town. Third Street Ale work is stellar.

Just missing something but I’ll still go back Keep up the quality on your food and brews over quantities

Cool place. Decent staff. Not nearly as crowded as Russian River so you can actually sit down. They have good beers too. The pizza is good. The shepherds pie was odd.

Awesome food with a great atmosphere. Cant go wrong, and the beer was great. The locals helped us out a lot in regards to places to go! This was a huge factor for us. I ordered the fish tacos and it was amazing, my boyfriend ordered a Cesar salade with soup and we were both happy. Only complaint is price but hey isn’t that what everyone complains about.

There are times when competition makes people better. Pippen and Jordan, Kobe and Shaw, Strawberry and Hernadez, the list goes on. But then there are other times when a competitor can’t or won’t step their game up. This place is, for all intents and purposes, a glorified dive bar that thrives for more, having nothing to earn that renown. I came with a large group and, while I’d be the first to admit that there have been times when my friends have been quite rambunctious, this was not one of those times. Still their power hungry manager deemed it necessary to repossess a flight and a beer along with some other offenses I didn’t witness so I can’t speak to. Needless to say this place left a bitter taste in most of our mouth and it wasn’t due to their sub-par beer. Then again coming from Russian River the drop was inevitable but at this place it was mind-blowing. To be honest the primary criteria for this place was that it was large enough for a congregation of our size. If this place wants to embody the air of a snotty beer spot they should work on their décor and the palatability of their food and drink.

This was my go to spot when I lived in Santa Rosa. I visited last week and still super good! I love their America Wheat Ale and their nachos with chicken was so good! Really cool building as well.

Came here as a last resort(sorry!) because Russian River had the craziest line known to man kind. Something about special one of a kind beer only being released on that day. Anyways, since we have lives and can’t wait for 5+ hours, we decided to make the most of the situation since we had ditched Lagunitas for Santa Rosa, and just find a pub nearby. Third Street delivered because we were able to get seats on a nice day outside and just lounge. The beer was fine, can’t really remember much about it. The food– eh, pizza was so-so and the brownie ice cream dessert had lots of potential to be good, but the brownie was frozen– not fresh so boo. If you want a nice place to hang out and chill while you enjoy brewskis and some bites, this is the place!

What a great brewery/restaurant. Prices are fair for the large amount of food you get. The fish and chips were nicely fried. I got 3 huge pieces in my entrée, all of which were real whole pieces, not fish mush. The burger was also pretty good, but not a standout. Doesn’t come with mayo. Beaver brand mustard condiments available. Lots of house brews on tap. The Maldita choco stout was interesting. The barley wine was actually quite drinkable. I also enjoyed the black cat porter on CO2 and nitro. Restaurant itself is nice and has a ton of TVs for watching sports. Comfy booths. Terrific service! Reasonable wait time!

The entire staff was weirdly belittling and negative to other local breweries. It was awkward and uncomfortable. Yes, I am here because the line for Pliny was too long. No, it’s not okay that you bag on a popular brewery that is also bringing business to your brewery. I brought in a delicious coffee. We were informed that was«against policy.» The manager tried to belittle me and my husband, calling us rude for drinking it in front of her, while she could not give us a valid reason without accusing us of sneaking in other alcoholic beverages and citing legal liability. So let me be clear: I am willing to spend my money on foods and beers, and in bringing in my iced coffee, the management feels entitled to be condescending and rude, the serving staff also gets to be condescending and rude and have a shitty attitude towards other local breweries. Also worth noting, there isn’t a sign explaining this weird«policy,» so I guess I am supposed to be psychic and well-versed on some local Podunk brewery’s policy. I’m sorry, I won’t give my money to a business that treats me like an inconvenience. They’re lucky my family was looking forward to eating here(because they were starving.) Never again. It is worth repeating: We will never come here again.

Like the friend who’s always down to chill 3rd Street is always available if all else fails. With a wide selection of beers and a decent food menu, this jack of all trades brewpub has a lot going for it but also has some things to work on. Pros: Great enviroment: an open space with an upstairs loft plus outside seating, this place is always lively and busy but never too busy when there’s no room to sit. Specials: I’ve been to a couple of the trivia nights on Wednesday and it can get quite rowdy. The steal is Tuesday nights with discount brews and bratwurst. Couple that with a movie at the 3 dollar theatre and you have yourself a good night for under ten bucks Cons: Service: there never seem to be enough waiters whenever I’m here and, because of that service can be slow at times. Give yourself ample time if you plan on catching a movie or have other plans Beer: the beer selection is nice and represents many different styles, but there is not much that makes any of them stand out for me personally. This is something of my own opinion and up for debate, but from Bodega head down to Bombay rouge, not too impressed with the offerings here To conclude, great atmosphere and some great specials, come with friends and you cannot go wrong. Just not my cup of tea… err beer

I have a soft spot for Third Street AleWorks. Their beer is solid — I’m a fan of the Bombay Rouge and the Taylor Mountain Rye IPA, but also happily drink many others. Their growler fills are pretty cheap, too. The food isn’t out-of-this-world, but it’s fine pub food. The $ 2.50 Tuesday beer-and-brats special is a great deal that keeps me coming back, and I’m often here on Wednesday evenings for trivia night. In the end, I don’t know if 3rd St. is the best around in any particular area, but the total package is pleasing enough that I keep going back.

Stopped here on a recent business trip. I wasn’t really impressed. Went with a group and this was not a good place to go to chat business with my co-workers. The place was just that loud. I suppose it would have been better if I’d been in the mood to just sip beer and soak in some energy. Pros: Helpful and cheerful staff. Good selection of brews. Cons: Loud Loud Loud Food was forget-able pub fare.

Despite being super busy and unable to keep up with the Saturday afternoon crowd, the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and beers I consumed saved the day. In fact, the sandwich was so good I’ve decided to stop eating at «Pliny» brewing across town due to very mediocre food and long waits. The beer was fine — haven’t tried enough of Third Street’s offerings to declare victory over rivals, but what I had was nice. Service was borderline poor. Long waits, no napkin or silverware delivered with food, had to wait for check. Fortunately, food and beer were good enough to deliver 3.75 stars. I’m definitely going to stop by again when I’m in town. 3.75 stars

Great menu selection… good beer! This place can get busy. They have an outdoor patio. Indoors can be a little noisy. Our waitress was very attentive and was very polite.

A more laid back, less crowded alternative to Russian River Brewing down the street. Server was friendly and attentive. Great beer selection! My husband and I split a flight that included all the drafts and two cask beers. During happy hour(3 – 6 on weekdays), they have bar snacks that are only a couple bucks. We got the corn dog bites and chicken bites. Nothing out of the ordinary — typical fried bar food, but you can’t beat the price. I was surprised that the portions were actually enough for two people. Nice patio. Not much of a view, but we enjoyed sitting in the sun!

I’m surprised I haven’t updated my review from last year yet! So we come here quite often now that we live in Santa Rosa. Big fan of the beer selection, especially the fact that it rotates often. The food is not my favorite, but I’ve come to learn what I like and don’t like. My recent selections of the mushroom Alfredo pizza, and then nachos with steak were both good(and huge portions!). I enjoyed the thickness of the bread and proportions of toppings. Another sneaky good find are the onion rings. I feel like it’s hard to find ones that don’t fall apart at the first bite. These remained in tact, huge points! I’m definitely willing to keep trying different items on the menu — look out for more updated reviews and or pictures :-)
