Downgrading Reds to a 4. Still great pizzas but they need to work on their delivery. If you’re going to charge $ 5 to deliver over-priced pizzas, the least you can do is remember to bring everything. They keep forgetting pizza salads and sodas. And seriously, it shouldn’t take over 1 hour.

There is no better value food anywhere as far as I can tell. Five dollar pizzas. Five dollar burgers. And delicious too? I don’t understand how it’s possible but these guys are the best. Be sure to get the garlic sauce to go with your pizza.

If I could give 10 stars I would. The Pepperoni Pizza was delicious! Just thre right amount of crust. And the texture of the crust was perfect. We were standing in line for a Dance Moms filming at Barnum Theater and the delivery guy found me in the crowd and successfully delivered our pizza! So from my order being taken until the last morsel was eaten, we love Reds!

Hard to find a parking place, small restaurant(snack) with tiny tables and some stool seating facing the windows. You’ll get paper plates and plastic cutlery and glass. That being said, the staff and owner are very welcoming and helpful we were 6 and they went through a lot of trouble to arrange a table for all of us, Pizza were amazing, crust is thin but don’t expect that oven burnt crispy dough. It’s all smooth and melt in your mouth. 1 star lost because they can do better on the spaghettis sauce for the Bolognese that tasted like bottled sauce… Then again I would recommend sticking with the pizzas. My favorite was the kebbab pizza with white sauce(the ham and mushrooms was excellent too). I’ll come back to try the cheeseburger and have another go at the kebab pizza.

Went here by recommendation the other day and definitely wasn’t disappointed! As far as west coast pizza goes, this place can make the top ten list for sure. Had the Kingston and some Alfredo pasta. I’d pass the recommendation on to anyone in the area!

Craving Italian tonight so we decided to take a walk up the street!!! Spaghetti, chicken fettuccine and the Madison were our choices! Service was quick and friendly… then the food made it to our table and it was DELICIOUS! Pasta was just right… sauce on the pasta soooo tasty! Then we tried the Madison… Wow! We’ve been in the area for almost three years now… we’ll be visiting Reds more often on some of our fun nights out… and let’s not forget the pricing… easy on the pockets. …what is there not to love about this place?

In the few years that it’s been around REDS has made itself a neighborhood institution, garnering a loyal SamoHi and local following… What’s their secret? Great food at an accessible price. Honest service from employees who seem genuinely happy to have you as a patron. In other words, real people serving real food at really fair prices. Nothing I’ve tried has been bad. I really like the Madison aka the kebab sandwich… it really does taste European… like something you’d get on the street after a night out. Great flavor and I like the sauce. The pizzas are good, definitely different from American style pizzas. The dough is thinner but has an excellent bite to it, I like the sauce… the toppings are more sparse but not in a bad way. A few complementary flavors and a good sauce work very well with the type of crust they use. If you want loads of toppings, you need a sturdy crust and extremely hot oven… it’s a very different flavor profile. I highly recommend the kebab pizza with a nice topping of yogurt sauce after it’s done… and yeah, the pepperoni. I haven’t tried the pastas but a friend of mine loves the Lodon alfredo with ham. But personally, my favorite item at REDS is probably the cheeseburger aka Charlotte Burger with cheese. When it comes to burgers, I’m not into weird toppings, fusion cuisine or overpriced gimmicks. I like simple, classic burgers, and the one at REDS is great… and while I know it has a cult following, I’ll venture to say that I prefer it to the classic burger at Hinano Café. Overall, who would have known that with the current wave of gentrification and crackling community foundations, a real piece of Americana would come to SaMo from Sweden…

I found Reds on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I was very surprised about how good n fresh the pizzas taste. The madison and garland half and half is my absolute fav. Two diff flavors. It’s a cool place. Not the greatest interior but it’s a pizza shop not a night club so it’s cool for me. I paid $ 11 for my pizza and $ 1.50 for a pepsi. Cheap for a santa monica joint. They had samples out too which I for sure ate of too. Lol. Def a 5 star joint when it comes to taste and freshness.

This review is way overdue, but REDS remains a memorable experience(if not exactly for the right reasons). When this place first opened, I was excited to have a highly-rated pizza joint right in my neighborhood. I know I can be picky about pizza, but it seemed that everyone was raving about this Swedish pizza that was just waking distance from my apartment. Now, granted, I visited this place last year, and it’s totally possible that the food has improved. However, I just did not get the hype! I shared a vegetarian pizza, and I thought the tomato sauce was somewhat bland and the dough was thin but not firm/crispy enough to give the pizza a great texture. I may have to try REDS again to give one of their other pizzas a try, but if all else fails, I would go back for their awesome collection of Swedish candy. I destroyed a bag of various sweets, and that was, without question, my favorite part of the whole experience.

Wow, after having a very bad experience last night REDS has more than redeemed themselves. The owner himself messaged me immediately and came up with a solution for me to try their pizza again. In fact he delivered the pizzas to me himself. Aside from the great customer service I honestly could not even believe the pizza was from the same place. I got the Prusia and a pepperoni pizza with jalapeños. The crust was crisp thin and delicious. The Prusia was incredibly flavorful with perfectly cooked shrimp and meats.

We ordered an xl kebab pizza and the xl pizza with filet mignon and the béarnaise sauce. I would have rather eaten a pizza with just pepperoni on it. Not a huge fan of their béarnaise sauce. It also took a while to get our pizzas.

It has been a long time that I’ve encountered a new cultural food for the first time that has blown my mind in the same way as the concept of a Red’s Swedish pizza did. The awe was redoubled that this unbeknownst to me culinary delight was available nearly exclusively in the United States in my very own neighborhood. Oh to be so lucky. Knowing that Swedish pizza exists is enough to prompt you to visit or order from Red’s. I guess it’s the toppings that make a pizza Swedish vs. Italian or American. Red’s generously let’s you split a pie with two signature toppings so on one glorious 16 inch pizza I was able to double down and sample both the doner kebab and the filet mignonette toppings. Each comes with a different drizzle of a creamy sauce. The filet mignonette is sliced extremely thinly whereas I had been expecting it to be similar to a fajita pizza the thin slices of beef were a little bit of a let down but it explained why the pie wasn’t $ 30. For such fantastic toppings the prices of the full pizzas are amazingly low!

Wow, this place is the best pizza in Santa Monica! They serve up a unique and special style of pizza in the Los Angeles area. Swedish pizza is a whole new take on pizza, and these guys are doing it right. It’s a sweeter, softer thin crust than I am used to — it truly melts in your mouth. I had the Madison, which had doner kabob and garlic sauce on top. Delicious and very filling. The staff seem very friendly and the Swedish candy(although I didn’t have any) is a cool touch.

Amazing food. I’ve been to many different places for pizza, but one thing I can tell you about this place, is that you have to try it for yourself to believe it. Make sure if you are in the area to stop by you will be amazed. I got to taste the pasta as well that they will be serving starting on February 2nd, it’s a must.

Ever since my GF and I moved to the West Side, we’ve been on the hunt for a great pizza place to fill the void left by Danielle’s Wood Fired Pizza. After two years, we finally found a winner! We ordered the Pepperoni Pizza with jalapeños, and the Cesar Salad. The ingredients were fresh, and the pizza was cooked perfectly. They do charge $ 10 for delivery which is pretty steep, but any concerns around that fee were gone as soon as we took our first bite. They’ve got a ton of other pizzas to try, so I’m already looking forward to our next visit. This place will definitely become our go-to spot for pizza on the West Side!

My Swedish husband had heard about this place and described to me how different Swedish pizza was from the regular kind, so we headed to Reds to try it out on Sunday, September 19, 2015. We had just finished working out, so it probably wasn’t the healthiest idea to come here, but he really wanted to try it. It looked pretty new and there wasn’t too much seating, but we found some spots in front of the window. The manager was kind, but you could tell that the girls at the registers were newly hired since they were fumbling the orders. This was a while back and I was really craving burger, so I ordered the Charlotte Cheeseburger($ 5.00) while he ordered the Rockport Pizza($ 9.00– but it was enough for 2 people) with a tub of Bearnaise sauce($ 7.00). The sauce was okay and we thought the price was a bit much for the tub. He used it as an additional topping on his Hawaiian-looking pizza(the toppings were ham and pineapple) which made it better when I tried a slice. The burger was just a regular cheeseburger, so nothing too different. He liked his pizza and I noticed that the crust was different, but I am thinking we should go back to try the Madison pizza. We also grabbed a bag of Swedish candy which was pretty expensive at 0.51@ 13.99/lb but I had been craving some of it since our last trip to Sweden. I wish they had some Marabou chocolate and Geishas, but I purchased Plopp and some sour candies. There wasn’t much parking around the area and be careful of the signs around there since I ended up getting a ticket for not having a permit for parking in that area. There weren’t any signs in the parking space in front or next to me, but there were 2 signs for each parking space 2 cars over, but I imagine some of the construction that was occurring at the time could have contributed to the confusion. Just be observant of the signage in those front parking spots. Overall, the pizzas look great and I look forward to the next visit to try different pizzas.

Really great pizza. My first job was at a pizza place and I know pizza. Fantastic. They were willing to do a half and half and do a custom half too. I had a cheeseburger as well. Very good, a little on the salty side would suggest to dial back on that I think it was from the thousand island. Not a real issue though especially for the price it was very good. Very happy this place is two blocks away from my apartment.

3.5 star pizza, but I’m rounding up because I really fuck with this establishment. I was on an adventure. Actually, my late night escapade on New Year’s Day 2016 transcended that; I was on a mission. I had $ 11 in my pocket and a penetrating hunger imposing its weight on my entire body. What the actual fuck was I supposed to get myself in the middle of the night in a city that I was completely unfamiliar with on a day when half of the restaurants are closed. I was losing hope, wandering Santa Monica with the fear that I would either go home on an empty stomach or end up eating at some chain, like Subway. But hark! I found the perfectly place to appease my hunger! A Swedish pizza joint where you could get a mushroom/shrimp/bacon pizza for $ 7? I had to have it! Plus, it was open!!! What a bunch of A1 champs. I made the trip down to Reds, placed my order and was told that I had to wait 30 – 35 minutes for my pizza. I apprehensively agreed(at this point I really had no choice), but I decided to kill some time by making a trip to the 7 – 11 across the street. I had $ 4 left over, so I was definitely tryna fill in the gaps with some beverage and perhaps a little something to satisfy my sweet tooth. As I entered the 7 – 11 I was greeted by a cigar-smoking crackhead. «WASSUPBADASS? WASSUPBADASS?». Um, ok? I’m not a badass. He really wanted my attention. «Hey man, how’s it going?» I nervously replied. I fucked with this dude, what a goober. Nonetheless, I was spooked. Staying true to my adventurous mindset, I got my Watermelon Sour Patch Slurpee and some White Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and got the fuck out of there. I had just enough change in my pocket. I walked back to Red’s, waited ten more minutes, and my pizza was ready. Assuming I was upset by the wait(which I wasn’t, I had a good story to tell) the waitress told me that I could have a free drink. What a nice gesture! It put me in a good mood to enjoy my pizza, closing my long-winded journey on a warm note. The pizza was good for what it was. The shrimp played a nice role and the thin crust was exactly what I needed. Excellent deal. The Slurpee was weird(but strangely intriguing), the Reese’s cups tasted exactly like normal Reese’s cups.

Three times total Have I visited this place. Finally decided to write them a review. I also visited their valley location last year. Very unique pizzas. Swedish style. Specialy the madison. A mix of middle-eastern and italian flavors. Tried the Prusia too. Love that one the most. Shrimp on a pizza. I’d say 5 star would be fair to give this place. Very fulfilling and tasty. Fairly priced too at $ 9. Can’t say I love the decoration here but the food is what brings me back. Highly recommended. Owners are easy on the eyes too. The two brothers.

This was my first time here, and I loved it. I’m not a local, so I will likely not be returning soon, which is a real shame. It’s a little hole in the wall joint serving mostly pizza. We ordered a burger, a pepperoni pizza, and the Madison Pizza(their most popular pizza). My daughter ate the burger before I could ask for a bite, so I’m pretty sure it was good. The pepperoni pizza was a 7 on a 10 point scale. It simply was missing something. The Madison was definitely a home run. The beef doner Kabob meat was perfectly prepared and was paired excellently with the homemade garlic sauce. The thin crust had a thin layer of cheese that complemented the meat and garlic sauce. As you approached the crust the sweetness of the marinara sauce opens up a new set of flavors. Overall, I’m really diggin this pizza. The only draw back is the drink situation. No fountain drinks, just cans or bottles of water.

A must try for any self respecting pizzarati. Chef Cameron and Alec have put an interesting twist on a favorite go-to and it is absolutely delicious. Tried the Madison on a raining day and boy did it hit the spot. Tastes like it would work on any day! The blend of the beef kabob and creamy garlic sauce is a perfect balance of savory goodness and flavor. Pizzeria mozza quality at much more reasonable prices.

Quality ingredients for a low, low price? Count me in! My boyfriend and I found out about this place about a month ago, and we already wish they had a loyalty card. Their pizzas are fresh, thin, light, delicious, and inexpensive — not a happy combination we’re used to. They are also quite friendly there and make their pizzas very quickly. My boyfriend is addicted to the $ 5 special pepperoni pizza, and I love the $ 6 special Madison pizza. They’re 10″ each, so they’re a great personal sized-pizza, but won’t make you hate yourself after you’ve finished eating. My boyfriend usually devours his in one sitting, while it takes me two to finish mine. The Madison has a creamy garlic sauce topped with some döner kebab beef, which I always get on the side. My boyfriend doesn’t think the two ingredients go well together, but will happily make his pepperoni pizza a meat lovers’ one! They have various other flavors to choose from, but we like to stick to their specials menu. The restaurant itself is pretty small and not very welcoming to sit down at, as they have two large fans at opposite ends blowing into the dining area, which the owner explained to me is because of how hot the restaurant gets during lunch time. It is definitely not a date place, and I’m pretty sure it would be flooded with high schoolers on school days. There is street and metered parking by the high school — be mindful of the permit parking spots! They accept credit cards, and there is only indoor seating. Please come try this amazing pizza joint because the location has a high turnover rate, and it would be a shame to let an amazing small business like this get run out.

But not cooked as well. We also ordered one with olives and other veggies. Just not good. The Doritos and Cheetos were good. Avoid. Wow what customer service! They offered a refund !!! Incredible!!! I already made it home by the time I got their offer. If you can refund on my Amex please do ! I guess you are not taking any risk trying this place! If it isn’t your thing, they are class acts. Solid pizza place that offers a Unilocal Discount for those of you smart enough to check-in(and remember showing the discount). Went in and ordered the Madison(beef doner pizza with garlic sauce) while a friend ordered the Garland Pizza(filet mignon with bernaise sauce). Both were super good and super reasonably priced. I believe the Madison was $ 9 and the Garland was $ 12. They were about the size of a personal pizza you would get from 800 Degrees and a bit bigger from what you might get from CPK. The pizzas are delicious and filling. The bernaise sauce on the Garland pizza was so rich that it added a depth of flavor to the pizza that you wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. As for the Madison pizza, well, it was just awesome. Gyro meet and garlic sauce — you can’t go wrong. The crust on both pizzas were very light and flaky. Don’t expect a super bread-y crust, but something more along the lines of a flatbread. All in all, great experience, gourmet pizzas at a reasonable price… win-win! Don’t forget to use the 10% off discount through Unilocal

My husband and I love this place! We have been going to his former valley location from the time that I was pregnant. I now have a one and a half year old and my husband insists on traveling to the west side to get his fix of «Swedish pizza» at their new location. —Swedish pizza really means pizza that has a middle eastern touch. In case you are not familiar with this style of food, I encourage you to try it! What happened was, some immigrants from the middle east move to Sweden and open up a pizza shop. Hence, the phenomenon of kebab pizza. Amazing! Delicious! Go and grub. Try the Madison.

Just stumbled in for lunch on the first day they soft opened. They’re getting everything together still, so I won’t comment on décor yet. Food was great though! The pizza comes in 11″ sizes only, no slices. This is a decent size to split if you’re not famished, or solo if you are(think a medium). I got the prusia, a shrimp, bacon, ham and onion pizza. The shrimp are tiny but flavorful, the bacon is almost like pork belly, very tasty. Crust is on the chewy end, and reasonably thin, with a generous dusting of flour. Prices are reasonable, considering. I live on the block, so I will certainly be back. Especially if they end up serving beer in the near future! Just stoked to have something so walkable on this block. Parking may be difficult for visitors, but there are a handful of 2 hr spots on 7th that are usually available.
