I don’t recommend any of their«regular» pizza slices… But the«special pizza», the one that has the stuffing in it, is incredible. It’s not cheap, but so worth it. They have 2 meaty ones and 1 veggie one. The veggie one is expensive as it is basically just bell peppers and onions with cheese, but the both of the meaty one make my mouth water. 1 slice is equivalent to 2 slices so I guess if you get the meaty one it’s not too bad. I usually get 1 of each with the orange soda and it is a good meal while people watching. Don’t worry about the calories, just burn it off while doing some shopping! They also have gluten free pizza! I have yet to try them but I plan on getting a whole pie. Again, it is not cheap, but anything gluten-free isn’t!

I like the fact that there are many choices and the white cheese pizza is really good!

Oh my gosh I love this pizza. I always get the thin crust and its nice because its not super heavy and its deliciously warmed in their oven. It is a bit on the expensive side, I guess, but I think they put a bit more work into it than your regular Domino’s or whatever economy slice(or at least that’s what I tell myself).

This is one of the better pizza places open late and a good option on the 3rd Street Promenade, ‘tho the price is fairly expensive for a slice, costing in the $ 3.50−4 range for one, not so large sized slice, but a delicious one which is where they earn their higher marks. I’d recommend if they are needing to pick up business, to drop their prices down to $ 3 or less; do a 2 slices(since they’re so small) for $ 5 special and add in a fountain drink for a buck more at $ 6 and then they’d be offering the public a full meal at a digestible price, or make the slices a lot bigger, like 50% larger for the price they charge. It’s a nice convenient location outside of the movie theaters, so they have the foot traffic. The toppings, Pepperoni and Sausage, are great, it’s my favorite slice. Again, it’s just the price, but maybe I’m either old(remembering what slices cost in 1980’s) or from a different ‘hood(in NY or some local spots in any big city, there’s some slices for $ 1 to $ 2 still today). But, I’d also have to acknowledge the rent they pay on 3rd St, and other overhead in 2013 may force ‘em to charge what they do unfortunately.

Since the promenade is like down the street from me a stroll once in a while doesn’t hurt. The places to eat on the actual promenade are really catered to tourism. So if you hold your breath for something other wise you will turn blue. In my head«dammed if I do, dammed if I don’t» Stefano’s pizza is one of the soundest option when compared to the other joints around. One of the highlights I would say is the variety of different styles of pizza they have here. One of the downsides is how can you be an italian joint and not offer pasta, lasagna, or ravoli? Maybe I am being picky. In terms of freshness it’s like any other joint, you have to just hope to show up at the right time when the pizza comes straight out the oven. Worst case scenario having already done pizza heated up in the oven. I ordered the tomato and spinach, and one reg slice of cheese pizza. I can say the pie wasn’t that bad. It was above average. The person who took my order was cool as well. This place is good for someone looking for a quick fix, that is moderately priced. Maybe I will return here for the sicilian style pie in the future.

Steffano’s has pretty good pizza. It is definitely better if you are dining in. I have ordered it for pick up and by the time it gets eaten it is cold already. When it is fresh out of the oven it is tasty! I always love a good slice of Hawaiian. They also have a couple different pre-made salads you can order with your pizza– nothing fancy though. The only downside is that they are a little on the pricey side for the quality of pizza you get. Like I said– dine in and hope you get a fresh slice, or ask them to warm it in the oven if it is too cold. Also, if you work around the promenade, your business card will get you a discount.

bland«stuffed» pizza @ 5.25 per slice stuffed veggie-the best part was the crust when they warm it up. nice and crispy w sesame. the veggies are fresh tasting, but the stuffed veggie pizza slice itself overall is bland. needs more taste inside. it’s literally veggie + cheese. stuffed lasagna pizza– this was just sausage pizza with a thick layer of swiss/white cheese on top. it doesn’t even resemble lasagna… where’s the pasta, the ricotta cheese? very salty… sausage tasted old. disappointing.

Some of the worst pizza i’ve ever had. Only getting 1 start because i can’t give it zero. Granted, i’m from NYC and good pizza is easy to find, but this place ranks below Domino’s and California Pizza Kitchen. Not even close to «NY Style Pizza» Sauce is bland, dough is mediocre, cheese undercooked.

Great pizza that is authentic and perfectly made! Unlike other pizza joints where the crust and breading is too thick or super thin, this is just right and the layer of cheese on top is plentiful with various toppings which you can order by the slice. The artichoke vegetable slice is delicious and light. You won’t be disappointed with the pizza here!

outdoor seating. 3 dollars for large slice. thin crispy crust and tons of toping choices. this is a pizza by the slice spot. they are not a sit down Italian restaurant. for the price and the seating alone i stop by every time im in santa monica! i recently had a pepperoni and sausage slice and a pesto sun-dried tomato slice. both were awesome!

I don’t really like to give an «ok» to a place, since what can be worse than mediocrity? However, the only thing I loved about it was its location — come here at sunset, and you’ll have a great view!(and there is outside seating) Four of us had different things for dinner(and none of it was pizza), and the food was good, but nothing impressive or extraordinary at all. Be aware of smaller portions(more of European size), concise menu, and for some reason pretentious waiters. The place got quite busy by 6 o’clock on a Saturday, but what do you expect if it’s located in such a prime location as the new Santa Monica Mall? My honest opinion — try something else. Alas!

Took a stroll through 3rd St. Promenade after about fifteen years. This place hasn’t changed much. Wanted a quick bite with some outdoor seating. Looked at Stefano’s and didn’t think twice. It’s set up pretty simple. Large showcase with pre-made pies. Selected pepperoni with mushrooms. The total damage was about seven bucks. Pizza wasn’t saucy. It was a bit dry. The pizza dough was not spectacular by any means. The outdoor seating was unfortunately, my highlight from this meal. What a disappointment.

Came here to eat during Santa Monica Place’s grand opening. Lots of pizza topping varieties. It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had at any shopping center.
