This location is now closed. I read that a Starbucks is going here. My one star is for my sadness that Santa Monica has lost its only KFC.

Almost didn’t stop here because of the poor Unilocal reviews. Maybe my family and I just came on a good day and got lucky, but the food was great. The service was really good too. I normally wouldn’t review a fast food place, but I felt compelled to give this place a good review because it really was good.

Not sure why all the KFCs suck on the west side. Old chicken, potatoes so got the scald your mouth, and just like in Malibu NOBATHROOM!!! At least Malibu has a porta john, there’s nothing here to even wash your hands. If you have a craving for KFC try another one(not Malibu/pch either) otherwise you’ll be disappointed like I was.

I used to love Kentucky Fried Chicken. I have memories of a very delicious product well prepared. Those days are no more. The original recipe is bland. The breading is soggy. The chicken is often overcooked. The sides, other then the coleslaw is usually heavy. In an age diners are looking for tasty and light this food is c#$p. Food this bad makes me ask the question: Do the Executives managing this company eat their own product? Do they care about the product or do they equate profit margin with good tasting food? Anyway with so many other food shops and supermarkets offering prepared chicken better food is usually just a few streets away.

Location is good/bad. Good b/c it’s on a busy street. Bad b/c it’s right near a bad area and is way on the east side of Santa Monica(that area has few well known unhealthy fast food chains). The chicken is disgusting and the sides are good but not great. Do they mess-up half the time to most of the time: yes.

I know I’m being cheap with myself when I order an «individual» size mashed potatoes for a buck-twenty-nine. But could this KFC location being any chintzier with their portion serving? Scraping the cup from the start is not an auspicious start. Even hungry, I would rather have nothing than this tiny cup of potato scrapes again! Luckily, the biscuits were dependably fluffy. #calamity

This place is very disgusting, it’s not clean in the back, the staff could care less about you, this KFC is next to a dirty apartment so if you find any rats here or rat shit in your food then you will know why.

Probably won’t matter as folks will go here because is the nearest KFC, but the customer service and mic for the window lady is terrible! Almost comical… I also feel like they just don’t want to make anything other than what they had left, eg extra crispy or boneless. They said they only had original that is it, and they weren’t apologetic or nice about it.

Out of original breasts didn’t tell us almost made me late for play. No restroom and while we were there several orders were done wrong. And the sides were cold.

KFC, Kentucky Fried Chicken is a great brand, ‘tho it’s not inexpensive fast food relative to how much chicken can cost. You can get a whole fresh roast chicken at most super markets, which is healthier for about $ 7. But KFC isn’t about healthy eating, it’s about tasty indulgences. My favorites about KFC are: 1) Original Recipe Chicken. Still can’t beat the moistness of getting chicken on the bone as opposed to nuggets, strips and patties. 2) There’s something about that gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy are second to none. I love to use the gravy and dip my biscuit into it. 3) The coleslaw is actually good, but best served cold, so if it gets to room temperature it loses it’s appeal. I’d like to see ‘em bring back: 1) The original chicken nuggets from back in the 1980’s and 90’s. Not the popcorn chicken nor the strips. I did find a place in Chattsworth/Northridge that up to the Y2K were still selling the original nuggets a half decade past when I last saw ‘em available in the mainstream KFC’s, I speculate that franchise had a lot frozen in storage 2) In the mid-80’s there was a chicken fried steak, made of chopped ground beef. 3) Before their buttermilk biscuits they had dinner rolls. 4) Once upon a time, nobody liked the wings, and they had«The Wing Ding» which was a cheap special featuring 4 wings. 5) Who remembers the«Corn and Cluck for Under a Buck» promotion? Bring that back too, and offer either a wing or a drumstick, so you don’t alienate or upcharge those who like white meat. Pretty much all KFC’s have been the same overall, this is the one I’ve gone to most. The only variances I encounter once in a while is with certain food items, including the following potential problems: 1) The Chicken Pot Pie — If they don’t sell ‘em and leave them out too long, they dry out inside and what used to feature a moist savory gravy with chuncks of chicken and vegetables becomes a barren dry wasteland that’s inedible. 2) The mashed potato and gravy. For those franchises that opts to pre-kit the single serving mashed potatoes with the gravy, and allow the gravy to dry out in the container, I jeer you and question whether it’s a smart move or just easier to do fresh scoops of mashed potatoes the add the gravy upon each order when ordered and don’t keep ‘em in reseve. 3) I heard the chicken pot pie and the chopped or BBQ chicken sandwiches were basically made from the leftover chicken meat not sold the previous day(s). I’m not sure if that’s true or not ‘tho. 4) The all white meat upcharge is inconsistent. If I’m getting a 4 piece mixed assortment, I’d assume half dark, half white. If I get it «all white», then sometimes I’m charged an upcharge per piece for all 4 pieces, when if you analyze it, in theory you’re already getting 2 white meat pieces, so you should only be upcharged for 2 of the dark meat pieces to convert them to white meat. Better yet… can’t we all get along? Erase the color lines, and don’t charge based on dark or white… :)

First off, its annoying that there aren’t many KFC’s around my neighborhood. I drove 15 – 20 mins just to get to this one, only to find out they didn’t have the daily special that they advertised on TV. However, I get that not all KFC’s have the same deals, so fine. BUT — they were obviously short staffed, took forever, and messed up my order. I just wanted some damn chicken!

Horrible Service. My 8 year old child requested to use the restroom and was advised that there was no restroom on the premises and was encouraged to cross the street to use a restroom at the 99 cents only store. Food was cold and establishment was dirty. Would not return.

This restaurant has a terrible reputation on Unilocal, which it upheld brilliantly, just as we had hoped. When we arrived, there were three people in line, and nobody to take orders. After a few minutes, a staff member came out and simply looked at the first customer expectantly. After the order was placed, he collected the money and retreated to the kitchen, without a word to the other customers. So far so good. This repeated twice and we placed our order about 15 minutes after arriving. While we waited, two orders came back up as incorrect. My only complaint is that once we ordered, our food came out fairly quickly. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a comically bad restaurant experience, this location is likely to provide it.

Don’t know what these people are all upset over. Every time I go to this local, it’s timely, the customer service is friendly, and the chicken is freshly cooked. Never dry and always hot. I don’t care for the grilled chicken, but that’s not the location’s fault, that’s the corp’s fault. Today, I even got a bonus piece of chicken in my box. It was just a wing, but hey, it was free. I say– go here. My cats turn up their nose at El Pollo Loco chicken, but they damn near climb on my head to try to get at my KFC! I trust the kitties and Colonel Sanders!

I had a craving for fried chicken, headed on over(less than a mile drive from work) and ordered. Took me 20 minutes to get my food, and well, they got me the wrong kind. Waited another 5 minutes to fix, and it was just not worth the wait. The meat was soggy or whatever. Actually enticed me to look up how KFC raises their chickens. It’s definitely from some plant that doesn’t let the chickens run around. They’re the direct opposite of free range chickens. Flavor was ok, and I asked for some honey and realized it tasted… well not very honey-ey, and read the ingredients. It’s got more high fructose, sugar, etc than honey. Only 11% is honey! wow. No wonder it was called honey sauce and not just Honey. Last time I’ll be eating KFC. Go to a real fried chicken place!

They ran out of prepared food so we had to wait for them to cook some more. We waited 15 minutes, picked up our food went home to find that they forgot all 8 of our biscuits. Did I mention there were more people in the kitchen than customers? If only I was exaggerating…

«i feel like eating something crunchy!» and with those words, sofia m unleashed a series of events that led to the collapse of communism throughout the world. well, not quite, but she did mirror the inner deep desire of human beings for culinary diversification that is deeply ingrained in our psychic nature and that will eventually be the downfall of communism the world over. but… …a fifteen minute drive thru wait for an order of popcorn chicken? remind me again why democracy is better than communism? please? i mean, is popcorn chicken really the pinacle of our civilization? really?
