I’m not too happy with JJ Designs, which is unfortunate because I try to support mom & pop operations if possible. I’ve been interested in Chan Luu bracelets for a while, but have hesitated in buying one for myself because I couldn’t justify the price and need for one. Finally, I decided to splurge because the store was having a 20% off sale. I chose a bracelet which was regularly priced at $ 275 and bought it for the bargain price of $ 220 + tax = $ 240. I figured if I felt really guilty I could return it. I went on the designer’s official website, and Chan Luu had my bracelet priced at $ 245, less than the regular price that JJ Design listed. Granted I did receive the discount at JJ, but the deceptive sales tactic left me with an unsettled feeling, and I didn’t want to give the store my business. Well — it wasn’t possible to return it. I was never informed of the return policy only to discover the fine print on the receipt which I received after buying the bracelet. «No returns, only store credit.» Despite this incident, I wanted to give the store one more chance and went in a few months later. I inquired about the price of another bracelet because the price tag was not listed. The owner told me that it would take too long to look it up, and she didn’t have time to do so at the moment. I was the only one in the store. I’m done with this place.

I love this store. I’ve been going into the store whenever I’m visiting in LA. They have the cutest things that seem to suit anyone’s personal style. It’s truly a «mom & pop» operation. The owners are very personable & helpful. I’ve never had an issue with anything I’ve purchased or had made there. I still have several pieces that I wear frequently and get many compliments on.
