Commodore Cafe & Catering

I give them a second star for the convenience of online ordering and proximity to my office. I order from Commodore a couple of times a week, and I am almost always disappointed with the food. The breakfast burritos are ok, but everything I’ve tried on the lunch menu is bland and more expensive than it should be. I wish the food was better because the location is convenient for me, but as of now Commodore seems to be the best option in an area that has very few decent places to eat.

I order breakfast every Friday for my work and today was my first time ordering from Commodore Café. We have a bad luck with other places but I think we have found our place!
I copied and pasted my email to Sunny (person who did catering order) after we got the food.
OMG Sunny,
I got out of the dentist and I had 13 emails
with colleagues raving on how Delicious the breakfast burritos were.
I came into the office and I was trying to catch up with emails and
the emails from my colleagues kept flowing. people were coming to my
desk to tell how amazing the burritos were. Haha
So finally when I caught up with my emails I tried the chorizo burrito and
it all came together. ohhh I get it. then I HAD to try another, of course,
so I tried the Grammy Burrito and I was in heaven. the feta. So amazing!
The display was great, the fruit was delicious, the burritos were spectacular, the people were Happy. oh and you were on time lol.

Okay… this is the type of place that you walk pass it and you go «…really?! Uh, maybe I’ll just keep passing.»
DONT! Come right in! I know it doesn’t look like a formal cutesy café or anything, but everything on the menu is great! The staff is great too! (Especially with all the pretentious high schoolers they have to deal with — no offense, if you are one of the few nice and genuine students that go there)
I have to say… their daily soups are AMAZING!!! I was on a soup binge when I was working in the offices nearby. A SOUP BINGE FOR 2 months!!!
My favorite soups: creamy chicken tortilla soup, ginger carrot soup, and veggie minestrone!
OH AND THEIR SWEET POTATO FRIES!

Perfect grab and go spot for lunch. The salads are good and the staff is personable. They have tons of vegetarian options and they also allow substitutions. It can get a bit crowded during the lunch rush and there is little to no seating.

Love this place! Its a block away from my office. Most mornings I get the sunrise omlette– its amazing & only $ 7.50! Anywhere else in LA it would be double the price. The staff is friendly, food yummy :)

Not thrilled about their lunch menu, or the fact that they are heavy handed with salt on just about everything, but the service is always friendly and the portions are pretty generous. Save your visit for either a chorizo burrito at breakfast or Burger Bar on Thursdays!

Kind of uncomfortable when you first walk in. I was happy when I first saw the counter and I sat down at it. The staff just didnt look at me so I said I would have the #3. IT’s one of those places where they make you order at the cash register first and then walk down. That’s fine but don’t make me feel bad by not asking if I need help.
This place feels more like a cafeteria for the surrounding businesses than an actual café. They don’t seem to be trying to make you feel comfortable. Not going back.

Place Looks like dump. Food is Good Though. People are rude and dressed in appropriate for a restaurant (lady wearing sweats and T-​shirt???)
The only reason why I’m giving them 3 stars is for the good food. Other than that nothing fancy

Um, I’m so confused over the ratings. Am I not the only one that thinks their food is bland or overpriced? Or is it just me? They charge these ridiculous prices because clearly they can. They just happen to be in a convenient place where local business are & not very many food options. I refuse to ever step foot in place…
Staff on the other hand is great. You can’t blame them for bad food and a money hungry boss.

This place looks super cute on Unilocal,but it really is just one of those little lunch places to walk to if you work in the area. Super small with minimal/​no seating, except 2 picnic tables outside. You order and then sit. Food was okay. They forgot to give us a receipt. Parking in front. Gets busy right a lunchtime.

They are ALWAYS late and they got my friends order wrong.
The food is good though

Great service. Convenient. Lots to choose from. Thursdays the grill comes out for burgers. Tuesdays bring the taco bar. Shirley is hilarious.

Great price-​point for a good lunch spot.
They do specials on Tuesday and Thursdays– Mexican style Taco Tuesdays (Carne Asada/​Chicken/​Veggies) and Burger Bar (Beef/​Turkey/​Veggie Patty) on Thursdays, both of which are big hits. But every day they have 2 soups (usually one vegetarian or vegan). Thursday is Creamy Chicken Tortilla soup and it’s amazing. (Cheddar Cheese based soup in my guess).
They definitely cater to the local office complexes and have earned a steady stream of regulars. Coffee bar and fresh made milkshakes. After 2PM you’re gonna get the rush from the nearby school, so lots of kids in line. Recommend getting there a bit earlier.
Summer hours are til 3PM due to lack of the middle-​school rush, but majority of year open til 5.
Solid place, great staff. You can call in your order ahead of time, but if they’re busy, they usually don’t pick up.

My office is walking distance to Tada & I eat here 4 times a week. Friendly staff, nice recent renovations that sped up the ordering process & tablets to play with while you wait. My favorites are Carne Asada wrap, Dean breakfast burrito & Studio Burger.
A crazy number of Jr. High & High School students (right next door) ordering on a daily basis makes things very busy at certain times of day, but given the amount of traffic per square foot of café space, I’d say staff does a swell job making it happen

I ate here everyday for lunch for about two week when I was out there on a client. I have to say at first I was pretty unhappy about the overall service. They usually get pretty packed during the morning and lunch rushes. It sometimes take way longer than it should to get your food. They do however make a pretty decent sandwich and they have very good soups. One day for lunch, before I took a bite out of my sandwich I actually found the chicken not fully cooked. I originally was furious and was never going to go back. However when I complained about my food to one of the workers, they went out of their way to fix this issue. I received two free meals out of this. Even though the wait is a pain during rushes and they make mistakes, I personally enjoyed this place and would recommend it to people who aren’t in a rush.

Anything I’ve ever ordered at Tada has been very satisfying. Just to name a few: veggie or turkey burgers, tofu nugget wraps, and pancakes — all delicious. I always come back for the chai latte and their grilled cheese; moreover, it’s just not the same anywhere else. The entire staff is also super nice, but Sonny and Shirley are the nicest. This is definitely one of the best places to eat breakfast, lunch, and get your coffee next to homemade food!

This place is awesome! Love the food. I come here at least 2 – 3 times a week… A lot of people complain about the wait time, but this isn’t a large fast food joint. They take the time to prepare the food and you get great service. The girls working the front are welcoming and fun. The new set up makes this place even better. They have tablets to use while you wait for food. This place is seriously a hidden gem. It’s in a business area and behind a high school but it’s worth the trip. And the coffee is amazing, they serve groundworks coffee and make specialty drinks also!!! Especially if Shirley makes it. So for those who rated this place low because of so called «slow» service, guess you never heard that great food quality takes time, if you’re in a rush go buy McDonalds… But it’s got nothing on Tada! Will continue to go to this place.

Had food delivered from here. Everything looked fresh and perfect… until you take a bite. My salad was fishy and the egg tasted weird. My co worker thought she got a vegan salad because her chicken wasn’t chicken-​like in taste nor texture.

Stumbled upon this place while finding places to eat near work. It’s got some good sandwiches and the portion was plentiful. I bought a half Chicken breast sandwich for $ 3 and that was already pretty big.
My coworker signed up for their e-​newsletters and they send out cool events/​food specials. I think for the price and the proximity it is one of my top choices for lunch.
There are a few chairs outside to sit and eat, but I don’t think it’s big enough for a group of people.
