This food is fresh. The service it top notch. For the Central Coast, this place is the best for fresh chinese food. Really enjoy my visits here. Lived in the Bay Area and had my share of Chinese food and think this place could compete easily. Think this place rates the best for this area. Again, very fresh and good portions. Egg Foo Yung dishes are the best I’ve ever had anywhere. You won’t be dissapointed at any of their dishes.

So very fortunate to have such a great Resturant here in town. The food is just fantastic, from the pot stickers, egg foo young appetizers to the north China fried rice and low mein noodles, but the star of the show was the tower of shrimp drizzled with a honey walnut sauce OMG! Decadent!!! So good it is an absolute must try it when you go there! The owner/chef actually came out of the kitchen to confirm we had ordered two. He asked us if we were sure we wanted two orders because one order contained about forty shrimp! We went with one. He was right!!! Go and enjoy the very attentive service staff and great food! I had no reservations and had to wait in a small waiting room with a tv. Not bad at all! Thanks guys I will become a regular!

Very good food and this place has excellent service! My beverage is always full and I don’t have to wait for someone or beg someone to fill it up. After leaving I am very full and very satisfied with everything.

Place is a little small but clean. Orange chicken, pot stickers, wontons are delicious. My husband and I didn’t care for pork fried rice. Staff is friendly. Prices are a little high. Menu has a lot of choices.

They were cleaning the table next to mine and the spray from the bottle got me and my food. Why would you be so careless with cleaner when people are eating next to you?

Great place! My hubby and I have been looking for a good Chinese place for awhile. There are no even decent Chinese restaurants in SLO, so finding one in Santa Maria was literally like a miracle. The restaurant was packed the night we went there. Had to wait for about 15 min which was not that bad. Consider the fact that they were super busy we got the fastest service. Food is delicious. We got dinner for 2 that included special soup, appetizer and two main dishes, Mongolian beef and Sweet & Sour chicken. I was particularly fond of Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The chicken soup was absolutely delightful. The only thing I would add is to have more shrimp in the chicken soup. I highly recommend this place.

My wife is Chinese and so I am brought to every Chinese restaurant to try them out. This place wasn’t my favorite. They vacuumed next to use while we were eating. I understand it was slow but pick another spot besides me while I am eating. Waitress seemed miserable. I hate when I have to get up and track someone down just to get a refill. The Food is not authentic Chinese, it is American Chinese, but the price doesn’t match the quality. Again, the food wasn’t very good and overpriced. My seat was sticky… That is just a gross feeling at a restaurant when you put your hand down and you feel a gross sticky substance. Don’t know why my review got removed but going to keep posting.

Although this place has gone up in price, the quality still stays on point. When you come for lunch, ALWAYS get the lunch special. It’s an affordable way to get your favorite item and it comes with an egg roll, soup, and fried rice. When you come for dinner, a must try is the neptune’s plate. My family always gets different plates of food but this is the one plate that we always come back to. Shrimp, scallops, crab, and a shit ton of veggies in a rich lobster sauce. Heaven. Be careful of this place though. Once you come here, Panda Express or any other Chinese food place will never do you justice.

Stopped in on my way while passing through Santa Maria. I used Unilocal to find this Chinese restaurant and choose it because of the rating. I ordered a bowl of war wonton soup and an order of potstickers. I found the pot stickers deep fried which was odd. I think they would have been a little better had they been prepared traditionally and steamed and then slightly fried on one side. The soup was decent and filled with ingredients, most of the shrimp were cleaned properly but one was not. Overall though decent restaurant. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The dinning area and tables were clean and well kept. When I was departing I checked out the bathroom and walked by the kitchen. The kitchen was very busy but also a little dirty with food on the floor. I would be inclined to go 4-star on this place like the consensus save for the dirty kitchen and odd choice by the chef on the potstickers. So objectively, going 3-stars and an A-OK rating.

I’m visiting the area and we decided to check this place out for dinner on a Friday night. No wait on a Friday is pretty great, and the staff sat us right away. The food was pretty good! We got the Hot and Sour Soup portion for two — they give you a huge bowl that is more than enough(we actually ended up taking the leftover soup home). Note that this soup is spicy — but delicious! My boyfriend doesn’t normally like spicy food and he enjoyed it. We also got the potstickers — you can’t really go wrong with those — very good. We also got the Honey Walnut Shrimp — and it was a huge tower of delicious shrimp. The walnuts weren’t really candied though… but it was still good! The serving sizes are pretty large here so you get your money’s worth. We had enough leftovers for another meal! I would have to commend the waiting staff, as they were very polite and courteous. They were very attentive and friendly.

Really good Chinese restaurant. We are out of Town and we have dined here twice already in our week stay! It’s so clean and the ambience is just right; not loud at all like a lot of other restaurants. The service is always fast and the waitresses are very friendly. I can’t recommend anything in specific because everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. My advice would be to go with your own personal preference! Next time we are in town we’ll be sure to check in again and keep trying from their vast appetizing menu :)

Ever since we moved up here from«The Crush»(L.A./Orange Co.) we have been desperately seeking a Chinese restaurant that was as good as some of the ones we had in «The O.C.». North China could very well be ‘the one’! After having read numerous reviews on Unilocal,we finally decided to make the quick trip down from Nipomo, and boy! was it worth it! First off, the drive was actually easy and scenic(have GOT to get that Orange Co. traffic mindset out of my head)! It was not yet crowded when we arrived, and we were greeted by the friendly hostess and seated right off. She then brought us ice water(requested) hot tea and menus. The waitress arrived shortly after and took our order. While we waited, we noticed that North China seemed to be doing a booming take-out business. Our eggrolls arrived, and I had read on their menu that these were hand-rolled in-house. I was astounded at how good they were, filled with a very nicely cooked blend of very slightly spicy veggies, and piping hot and crispy, rating at least an A– grade. We had ordered their basic egg fu-yong(actually a Southern Chinese concoction) and were again surprised at how awesome it was, crispy, yet moist and full of veggies and egg inside, with the most delicious Chinese gravy I have had in many years! Son after, in rapid succesion, our other 2 dishes, Mongolian beef and North China Special fried rice arrived. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and plentiful(we ended up taking at least half of each of those dishes home)! So, it seems that we have finally found our go-to Chinese restaurant, at last!!!

I have so much to say about this restaurant. If you’re deciding to go here, go, it will be worth it and you don’t need to read farther. Food: served family-style, large plates. I have tried and recommend the egg rolls, Moo Shoo Beef(wrapped table side), Orange Chicken(the texture was incredible), and Mongolian Beef(perfectly spicy). The only drawback here is they seem to cook in batches, so if you and another customer order the Mongolian beef, they’ll serve that first and your companion may have to wait for their entrée to arrive. In our case, it also meant we had barely bitten into the egg roll appetizer before an entrée had already arrived. Price: It is on the spendy side. For two of us, an appetizer and two entrees with included rice as well as tip(no drinks) was about $ 50. We both ended up with leftovers though so I think if you can agree on splitting a single entrée with someone you’d fare better. Also, I have yet to try the lunch menu! Servers: Friendly, attentive, and efficient. I was a little amazed about how quickly they moved, side-stepped children(thanks inconsiderate parents who allow children to run all around the restaurant), refilled drinks. That’s not to say it was rushed though — when our server stopped to check in about how the meal was and what we needed, the urgency dropped and she was patient with responses. This has been my experience three times now so it is consistent even during dinner rush. Also enjoyable was the oolong tea included, as it’s a personal favorite.

I have always had a good experience here. The service is always great and the food is always satisfying! We parked in the back, and went through the kitchen, and into the restaurant. Yes they let you do that. When we got there, it was pretty busy, but the servers were attentive. We ordered their egg rolls as an appetizer and it came out so fast! Our entres came out fast as well! We ordered their walnut shrimp, north china fried rice, north china chow mein and black mushroom beef. Everything was tasty. Their honey walnut shrimp came out, and it was A LOT shrimp! It was basically a tower of honey walnut shrimp. The black mushroom beef was really delicious. It was nothing I have had before. I would definitely order again.

Absolutely great service here! Reasonable prices and good portions. You can’t really go wrong with the honey walnut shrimp. But I do like shrimp a lot and walnuts… So my opinion might be a little biased. Hah :0 The snowpeas with black mushrooms, however, was just OK. Too much dang sauce and a bit too salty for me. The eggrolls were also quite salty. I needed a lot of sweet and sour sauce to balance it out. The bowl of rice I got was a mix of overcooked, soggy rice, normal rice and harder, older rice? Lol, would’ve liked it to be just one consistent texture. Overall, it’s A OK… Top 100 in the USA? I really don’t know about that. Probably for the Santa Maria area. Because of the fantastic service, I’d probably come back here and try some of the other dishes.
