My lord I don’t know why I haven’t posted this yet? I think I don’t want the«secret» to get out. This is HANDSDOWN the best breakfast burrito in SF. Sopapias(forgive my spelling) are the bomb too. I’d highly recommend the chorizo done«Xmas» which is both red and green chile. I’m not from SF. But my wife and family agree this place is outstanding. Minus the flare and minus the insane prices of lots of SF. Also have had dinners there that are fantastic. My family now buys me Valentina’s gift cards for holidays.

The food was absolutely fabulous! The service is a little bit lacking, we had to ask for a few things a couple times, but because the food was so good we’ll be back and hopefully my review will get two more stars. They do have beer and wine here, so they’re margaritas are probably made with a lower alcohol ‘wine’ tequila, but I haven’t tried them yet so it’ll be something on the checklist in the future.

My friends and I went to Valentina’s in Santa Fe during a winter Sunday. It was one of the only restaurants open, so we really appreciate it existing. The waitress and staff were super friendly, and the queso and salsas were delicious. It was slightly annoying that the chips and salsa were not complimentary and were an overpriced $ 5. However, the margs were super watery and only offered one flavor which was pretty sad after a long day of driving. Our only customer service complaint is that the waitress didn’t seem to believe we were actually 21, so we felt slightly disrespected. The beef fajitas were too fatty but the chicken was great. Especially the quesadillas. Overall, pleased with Valentina’s. Would recommend on a Sunday, but maybe ask for your margs with no ice. Lastly, they gave us great puff mints with our checks which made it all worthwhile.

Came here bc someone recommended it. I ordered the huevos rancheros. It was yummy. I ordered the salsa on the side since I don’t eat spicy food. The green salsa was not too spicy and had good flavor. If you don’t eat spicy foods, I would recommend that. I also ordered the sopapillas which were yummy as well. The service was fast and prompt. Would recommend. Good luck!

Way good! Don’t let the modest setting put you off– this is good food! I had the shrimp and it was delicious. Everything is obviously made in house. Service is very good, attentive and informed. Try it!!!

Nothing will replace the Diego’s sized hole in my heart, but this came damn close. All I want to eat when I’m in NM is sopapillas and this place does not disappoint, they’re big and fluffy and I just wanted to crawl inside one and take a nap! I also had the chalupas that had big chunks of chicken, the chicken was a little bland, but it was still very good AND Spanish rice!

We had breakfast here and the food was great and the service was attentive. I had the Santa Fe omelette, with red and green chile. Their green chile was delicious with a little spice to it and big chunks of green chile. The atmosphere was very nice and they had a big menu selection. I am excited to return to try more of the menu!

I love this place! We stumbled upon this gem after rolling our eyes at the exorbitant prices at the Santa Fe plaza. Really? I just wanted to experience local culture and food. I wanted to see more made in NM and American, not made in Peru, China or India and pay $$$ for food! What an unexpected delight. Primary reason was to try the sopapillas based on other reviews, and found excellent service, awesome food and a 3 piece mariachi band singing traditional songs. For a few of these songs some 6 or 7 youth got up from the table and danced! Clicking and taping their heals in their plaid shirts and jeans. What a great sight! So come down on Wednesday and Thursday nights between 6:30 and 7:30 see fine NM culture. We had a chicken quesadilla and margaritas and of course a Sopapillas with honey. Gotta come back sometime when we visit from Cali again.

My mom loves this place and I do too. Keep in mind that my mom is an 81 year old Spanish woman who can make her own sopapillas, enchiladas, menudo, beans, rice, posole, tacos, and salsa. She loves it because the chili has some heat to it; the portions are huge; the prices are reasonable; the restaurant and bathrooms are spotless(a deal breaker for me); and they actually make their own sopapillas(unlike The Shed which serves French bread with your meal, do they take us for tourists who may not know better?) We have always had great service and the Mariachi’s are an added bonus. If you’ve passed by this restaurant but weren’t really sure; give it a try. .. it may become one of your favorite Mexican/Spanish food restaurants!

Nice little restaurant. Good, reasonable priced food, friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. At the top of my list is their flan. I don’t generally order flan in a restaurant as it seems that it is often thickened with flour or cornstarch, or is watery. However, asking before ordering, I was assured that there were no extra thickeners used — only milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla. And, cooked properly so it wasn’t watery.

The red chile was delicious just the right amount of heat. Great find would highly recommend to any local. Needs some work on the Ac unit though. But I would definitely go back for the food. Especially for the sopapillas. They need a better honey choice though and this would be over the top.

We decided to give breakfast a try as the lady who owns the place with her husband has a kid in our local parish school. The interior is very nice with many paintings for sale which are evocative of FrIda’s work. I ordered the Carne y Huevos which is actually carne adobada and eggs with breakfast potatoes and sopapillas. The carne came out in large chunks and was fork tender. The red chili was perfectly hot and the potatoes were cooked perfectly as we’re the sopapillas. Valentina’s gets bonus points for hosting the all-girl Mariachi band«Buena Ventura» on Wedn. And Thurs. evenings from 6:30 until 7:30.

The red chili cheese enchiladas are delicious. The read sauce has the right amount of spice and texture. The whole beans and rice are very tasty. Next time will try some salsa…

Valentina’s, you haven’t won my heart… yet. I came here for a late dinner on a weekday, and when I arrived, no one was present to seat me. I know it probably gets slow in the evenings. Eventually I was seated and encouraged to try the new beer from Mexico. Dang I can’t remember its name but it was brand new to the restaurant and not one you can ever get in the U.S. I’ve never seen it before. Oh well, go here for new Mexican beers. I had the chile rellenos and they were quite disappointing. The chiles hadn’t much flavor or heat, and the rellenos were just soggy like they had been sitting out all day waiting for a dude like me to order em. I can’t really hate on the place because a relleno is a relleno, but it wasn’t up to par for a town like Santa Fe. I think the restaurant is fairly new, however, so they probably deserve another chance. The hominy was awesome, and the price was right. Sometimes the strip mall places are awesome in Santa Fe, but this place was just ok.

Wow, can’t believe all the 5 star reviews, I’m being generous giving 2. The guacamole was not fresh. 3 salsas, and all 3 were bland and mild, no spice, no flavor. The margarita menu was 1 drink long, obviously an off the shelf mix and cheap tequila, and weak. Then the main dishes came, more blandness. Bland beans. Bland taco meat, literally just cooked ground beef. Plain dry posole. Fajita meat that tasted like unseasoned low grade beef. At least the red chile had some flavor, hard to take the flavor out of that, but it tasted like it started with a burnt flour roux. Nothing here was«the best in town» as proclaimed in several reviews, not even close. I swear, some of you Unilocalers have no clue what good food is. You should do the rest of us a favor and stay off Unilocal if you’re going to throw 5 stars around so easily. I blame you people for wasting my money and a meal, when I could have had a good dinner.

I came to this lovely little restaurant on my first trip to Santa Fe. I’m from Texas, and I also know what great, authentic Mexican Food tastes like being that my mother is Latina, always cooking homemade meals. The food was fantastic. I ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer. Pico de gallo was put in the guacamole and three little dishes of three different salsas came with the order as well, which was pleasantly surprising. Our entrees came out quickly, and ohhhh my goodness. Mine was delicious.(I put up a picture: Suiza’s Chicken Enchiladas. It was a special though.) The rice was moist, which, to me, is a good sign. I ate that shit up quick, basically. Also, our waitress was super sweet. She took care of us. If I lived in Santa Fe, I’d definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you, Valentina’s.
