Passing through Santa Fe, doing my laundry in the same shopping center and decided to get a cut. Wasn’t disappointed! The Barber did a fantastic job, and even shaved up close with a straight razor. $ 18.50 for the cut, wish I had more cash to tip, all I had was a $ 20. They don’t accept credit cards — FYI.

Just got back from getting a pretty good hair cut. Only two people working at the shop today, a Saturday. Saul and a lady. Saul takes walk ins and the Lady is by appointment only. I called ahead and was told to just come on in. I got Saul. The hair cut was good and the price is very reasonable. I paid $ 20, that is $ 15 plus a $ 5 tip. I would have given a higher rating but I ended up having to wait over 2 hours. Saul works slow and will not be rushed. There was only one person ahead of me. So if time is not an issue this may be ok, free newspapers and even a Scientific American managzine.

It’s a $ 15 haircut, so you have to take that into consideration. the elderly gentleman on the far end of the chairs can’t cut hair at all, so if you get him, make sure you’re satisfied before you leave. He also takes forever. The woman at this barber shop is the best. She remembers older haircuts she’s given, and is totaly on top of her game. The owner, and guy giving haircuts at the first chair is relatively decent as a barber, but tends to get distracted by the locals who come in and stare at you while you’re getting your hair cut… 80% of the time he gives a decent cut.
