Coffee is great. Counter personnel has always been abysmal; not friendly, slow moving, and cannot multitask/prioritize. Food is good, but overpriced. REAL maple syrup was seriously watered down. Fresh fruit with Belgium waffle was as New Mexicans say, «pinche.» Apples, bananas and oranges??? We were thinking some kind of berries, especially for $ 8.95. Finally only ONE high chair in the entire place, which was taken. So no place for our two kids. Next time we will pay a lil extra dough for a great meal/atmosphere/comfort/service at Plaza Café Southside!

Initial impression is so-so. I paid $ 12+ for a half sandwich, chicken-pesto-provolone sandwich, bag of chips and a can of diet coke. Shoot, that means no refills. Now I’m waiting because they forgot I ordered my sandwich hot. Another possible problem is that went they told me the choices of bread, they didn’t mention that the rye was dark rye. All this negatively and I haven’t even taken my first bite! Here goes… Hmmm, not bad! Is that tomatos I taste? Must be vine-ripened. Pesto and chicken are good too. Mixed greens is a nice touch. Okay, I’ll move them from 3 to 4 stars.(But if the wifi gives me any trouble, back to 3 they go!) So let’s talk about the bread. I’m not a fan of pumpernickel and when I see dark rye, I figure it will have any overwhelming taste. This, in fact, is very mild. Almost too mild, like it is plain white bread with food coloring. It does have a nice texture. Soft and moist, even with the eventual heating. Wifi seems to work. All is well! Not sure if I’d go out of my way to come back, but I would eat here again if I were going to movie across the parking lot. Still think a little pricey, but probably worth it for real tomatoes!

Great spot for breakfast. Was in Santa Fe for 3 days and we came here twice for breakfast. Tried the breakfast burrito on both occasions. The food was fresh and flavorful. I wished I could have tried the other menu offerings. The French roast coffee was bold and smooth. Service was fast and friendly. If you are looking for a guaranteed pleasant breakfast experience make at stop at this place.

Cute place recommended by friends. Menu looks delicious but only had a dirty chai today. Free wi-fi, good prices and clean place. I’ll be back for sure.

I like the fact that this place is likely owned and run, and that its business didn’t seem to have been negatively impacted by the Starbucks that opened across the street. The food is solidly good, although I can only vouch for the portobello pesto sandwich on ciabatta and Moroccan lentil soup, since those are the two things that I always order here. I see people eating their salads frequently, so those are probably good, too. The espresso drinks are fine, the same quality prior are used to from most chains. There is also a good selection of standard loose teas. The ambience is chill and there’s free wifi. It’s definitely a place locals go to get work done or meet up with friends. I would give it a better rating, but the prices seem high, and service is sometimes slow.

I’m glad I ignored the other reviews. Great coffee & decent food for a little coffee house. I had the migas. Potatoes were a little undercooked but had great seasoning. Dave took my order & made my americano. He’s quite pleasant… And it’s not a big corporate chain!

Tables are big enough to get some work done on, art is okay, and it’s open later than most coffee shops in santa fe on a Sunday. Those are the only good things I have to say about this place. The chai was weak sauce and the barrista was less than excited to see us. If only I would have started studying earlier in the day! All the good places close early…

Coffee was good, cookie was good. Suddenly Blonde cash register help needs to get educated on basic customer service skills and immediately drop the attitude of an ill donkey.

Coffee is fine, food is pretty good. Only real complaint is certain people that work here act real put upon by the idea of a customer going in and having the temerity to pay for a service they offer. That’s just an all around Santa Fe thing though. Definitely worth a try either way.

Peter makes the best damn brevè cappuccino I’ve ever had in my life. Treat yourself to a beverage here before or after a movie. Or heck, do like I do and treat yourself to a cappuccino anytime of day.

Food is decent, could use some changes once in a blue moon. Lattes are nice. Upgrade the W-Fi to commercial level. When you get more than 5 or 6 computers going(always) you start getting kicked off. This is not your home, it is your business. It requires more fire power.

Love this place! Great place to grab a bite to eat before a movie or otherwise. The chicken curry and pesto pita are my favorites! They are always nice and fast as well. Strongly recommend.

Never again. I’ve tried this place several times & come away dissatisfied or ill. Food poisoning on Monday from a bowl of rice & beans. I was sick for 3 days. If the cleanliness of the bathrooms(or lack there of) is any reflection on how clean or not the kitchen is, then that explains it. I’m avoiding Tribes from here on out.

Coffee is good, a bit better than Starbucks, but that’s not saying much. Atmosphere is okay. Food is low to average. Service is great one day, horrible the next. Seating is uncomfortable. The hard-ass chairs made me want to leave after 10 – 15 minutes. Free Wi-Fi.

Close to where I roam, bright open atmosphere, staff is always friendly to me, I come here to use wi-fi and have hot cocoa. Today I ordered the bagels and lox, which was very good, bit on the expensive side at $ 8.60, but it was a rare splurge. Prices here are a bit high, $ 4 for a large hot cocoa, when I can go to SF Baking Co. and get the same for $ 2. A mix of people come here, making it fun to people watch. I recommend this away from downtown café, for the lox, and relaxing atmosphere.

Okay, I don’t know about you, but to pay 25 cents every time I want a refill of the house coffee is a bit pretentious. Really, the house coffee is not that great! I will admit the breakfast sandwich is really good!

I didn’t feel like I was welcomed into the tribe here but I wasn’t banned or anything like some of the other reviewers… I had a mocha which was just fine and a day old pastry which was OK. Nicely flaky but it was purported to be raspberry filled and there was hardly a spread of filling within. Atmosphere was OK.
