She does very good, careful work on hair and I’m always pleased with how it turns out. I have never had a haircut take longer, though, and the chair is like a torture device.

My hair was a botch job– can’t reveal what happened– I needed help– bad! I read all the great reviews on Nick’s– ‘Wow!’ I said– it’s worth looking into this place– just south of the Railyard. As soon as I walked in, Pauline gave me a ‘look’; a look of ‘WTF!, LOL! Yes, she sensed I needed someone to fix my disaster. She was super, knew just what to do, the best haircut I have had in years! My partner said the same thing about his new ‘do’! I look ‘marvelous’ now and certainly will return. Santa Fe can be daunting in locating a capable hairstylist– Nicks won’t disappoint you!

Out-​of-​towner and I needed a good haircut because I was leading an orientation program in a couple days. The haircut was 5 stars for the price. The experience was 3 stars. I felt really uncomfortable facing away from the mirror during the haircut. Though the cut turned out great, it was stressful not being able to see the process. Also, my barber put gel in my hair without asking me ahead of time. I don’t use gel and I really don’t like how it feels. Washing it out back at home was annoying.
Just to reiterate — Great cut and I would definitely go back. However, the experience could have been handled better for a first time customer.
Special kudos for offering to cut my hair without a buzzer. Most places don’t provide the option.

I got one of the best haircuts I’ve had in my life here. Perfect haircut. I’m pretty picky, but Felicia did exactly what I asked without me having to explain much at all. I love the straight razor finishing touches. She was very careful and precise yet still done in 30 minutes. I’d give more stars if it were possible. Definitely planning on coming back here.

After reading all of the good reviews, I figured I had to come here for a haircut. I hate calling places, so just went there (usually doesn’t work out for me) and thankfully Felicia was able to take me in as a walk in. She was nice and asked exactly what I wanted, which I didn’t know because my friend has been cutting my hair for years. She took what little I gave her and did a very good job. I love the fade/​shave I got. There’s limited parking, I parked on the street. Unfortunately, I live in New York, but plan on making an appointment when I come back in a few months. My haircut was $ 21, it might be a sliding scale if you’re a regular.

Nick’s is great! It’s a relaxed environment with lots of jokes and small talk, but the ladies running the place are major professionals. They are quick and efficient and always give you the exact cut you ask for. Plus, it’s the only place in Santa Fe that I’m aware of where you can get such a fast, fantastic cut for less than thirty dollars. My favorite!

The two best haircuts I’ve ever had were from these ladies. When TV and film productions get into town, this is where everyone goes. Beats any place I’ve been to in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

I’m so happy that I listened to the reviews and made an appointment at Nick’s. I called on Friday and had an appointment to see Felicia on Monday. Felicia was professional, pleasant, and truly fun to talk to! I was really pleased that she was comfortable giving a «men’s haircut» to a woman, and would highly reccommend her. The setting was sweet and small and felt very relaxed and calming. She immediately asked what I wanted, and took some time to identify what had happened during my last cut and what could be improved on. I walked out with the best haircut I’ve ever had! And it was a lower price than I usually pay (make sure to tip though, they deserve it!) She was meticulous with the clippers and managed to blend my hair where the last place had botched it! I will be going to Nick’s Barbershop for as long as I’m in the area.

This place is where I WILL go and get my haircut! They do old fashion shaving, love it!

My husband went to Nick’s today for a haircut as a first time customer. I was a bit nervous as I chose this service provider and felt a bit responsible for the outcome. His haircut is one of the best that I have seen on him (we have been married over 30 years) and he was extremely happy with the service, experience and price. Nick’s is a go-​back for him!

One lady was out from surgery. The guy that cut my hair really botched it. It looked like a drunk person cut it. The regular ladies are probably good, but I think it is disgraceful that they employ someone that gives cuts that bad. He cut the sides all different weird lengths and buzzed one side halfway up the middle. I used to have longer hair. It will probably be six months before it grows back out.

It doesn’t look like much from the outside — which is how you know that you will get small town charm and real competence, instead of attitude and high prices, when you walk inside.
I walked in just as another gentleman walked out, looking like he’d just visited friends or heard a good joke. Two barbers, two chairs, and I didn’t have to wait at all. There was an instantly comfortable, playful feeling in the place, even for a first-​timer like me.
I showed my stylist a picture of what I wanted to look like, and she set to work. Maybe 30 minutes later I walked out looking and feeling great. She trimmed that hair that grows in weird places (on my ears), shaved my neck expertly with a straight razor, minded my cowlick, and gave me a nice scalp massage in the process.
Santa Fe does the small town feel really well in some particulars: Fiestas, the July 4 Pancakes on the Plaza, and the Canyon Road stroll at Christmas. Lots of businesses cater to the tourists or to the wealthy elite who live here. And who can blame them? Someone needs to take the $ 150 they want to spend on a haircut or the $ 750 they want to spend on cowboy boots. But if you want an excellent haircut, very reasonably priced ($ 18 for a man) in an environment as comfortable as your own small town living room, go to Nick’s.

My hair was out of control. Helped barber shops in Santa Fe and Nicks was the highest rated place. I went in and was greeted by two lovely ladies. I took my place in line and waited. They were busy for an early afternoon.
It was well worth the wait. I had a pleasant experience and walked out with a great haircut. I’d go back in a moment. Although it will most likely be six months.
Highly recommend Nick’s. Whether your a local or a vistor in need of a haircut this is the place. Oh, by the way, they do shaves!!!

Go here for a haircut! These two gals are funny, down-​to-​earth, highly skilled in their work AND do finishing touches like straight razor around the edges and a neck massage.
