I always feel bad leaving bad reviews, but this place really earned it. First off, the prices here are WAY high. I ordered a hamburger which cost close to $ 13. I should have known when they took the order and didn’t ask how I wanted it prepared that it would be terrible… well it showed up so overcooked it was dry. I barely choked down ½ and didn’t even try on the second half. Never in my life have I not finished a burger so I am not exaggerating when I say this was the worst burger I have ever received. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, again, they didn’t ask how he wanted it prepared and again it was overcooked and dry. My mom ordered the indian taco which was pretty tasty, but the fry bread on the bottom was so overcooked that it was almost impossible to cut and actually eat with the meal. The only shining star on the table was the salad my dad ordered. The chicken was properly cooked and the salad was large, but like someone else mentioned, it’s hard to mess up a salad and for $ 13 I would expect the salad to be quite substantial. I would definitely not recommend this place, in fact I would recommend anything but this place. I know they probably do a good business right on the plaza so they can continue to serve bad food to tourists who won’t know any better until it’s too late and then they will never be back. There was a cart in the plaza serving fajitas and I wish we would have gone there, they looked yummy. This place was a very expensive disappointment with overworked staff. Stay away.

Interesting place. Is that good or bad? The first thing I noticed about Plaza when I entered it was I thought it was going to be a small café style restaurant and it was actually a really large spot. The next two things I noticed were how busy it was(it was lunch time) and that they’d decorated their fixtures with balloon animals and the like. Interesting place. To say the service was atrocious based on Seattle standards would be a huge understatement. I came to realize that this was normal service in New Mexico. The server came by almost immediately after we were sat and look perturbed that we weren’t ready to order. A busser brought us water and then… we waited. For about 15 minutes we chatted and waited for the server to come back. When he finally did we were ready to order. 15 minutes later we had our food. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it was decent. It’s rather hard to mess up a salad. The green portions of the salad were fresh and crisp. The chicken was cooked well with just a little bit of seasoning. The Caesar dressing was odd… it was see-through and was barely there at all in most places. When I would occasionally get a taste I do remember thinking it tasted good. My sister and her husband order Juevos Rancheros. They commented on how small the portion had become and how it was good… but not great like it used to be. So while they enjoyed their food it wasn’t what they were expecting from Plaza after having eaten their numerous times before. The bathrooms were… interesting. There were two bathrooms(male and female) that were a single occupant style which is not too odd. What is odd is that if you happen to be using one of the bathrooms and someone comes to find the bathroom occupied people don’t knock and then wait… they stand outside the door knocking on it till you are done. As our table was close to the bathrooms I heard this happen over and over again. While this doesn’t really have much to do with the restaurant and is more to do with people having horrible manners and etiquette I thought it still worth a mention. Interesting place. If you’re wandering the Santa Fe Plaza and need something simple to tide you over then this may suit your needs but if you’re coming during lunch expect to wait. Meh.
